We researched cuban restaurants and found La Niña restaurant 2. (Their other location is down the street.) Healthy clean food.
From the outside it looks high end but inside it is upscale casual, which was nice and comfortable. The chairs were super comfortable.
The waitress took and our order quickly, she was pleasant. The food portions are sizeable (not overbearing) and the food itself is very good. The yellow rice was really good and the plantains, beans and white rice were very good.
The chicken was tasty but for me need a bit more salt to bring out the flavour, no biggie.
For the price, you can't go wrong. Considering at a fast food place a combo is $9.00, for less than $2 more you have clean healthy cuban food.
I would visit again. The meal filled us perfectly for our visit to the beach.

Cuban cuisine - Looking from the outside, the unknowing would possibly make a big mistake by passing this place by. The hospitality, fine food and friendly staff more than make up for its size. We had six in our party and were able to be seated inside comfortably even following the current COVID social distancing guidelines. If you are not comfortable with small quaint places, they offer take-out service. Out in the open is your choice, you can place your order from their outside serving window, and sit at their small picnic table. We each ordered something different. Their menu has a wide variety of food from a Cuban sandwich to my favorite roasted port, white rice, black beans and Yuca.

We dined at the new location at 5101 Overseas hi way and had a wonderful sit down experience with plenty of parking. The new location has solved the space and parking problems. Our dinner was excellent. I had the fried shredded beef (vaca frita) and black beans and rice. My wife had the roasted chicken. We took half of what we ordered home because the portions were so large. I prefer my vaca frita more browned and crispy but everything tasted extremely fresh and wonderful. Both our dinners were in the $10 range and which is incredibly reasonable for this area. We also got the fried plantains and they were also very very good. We will be returning before we leave Marathon.

Needs help! The staff can barely speak English. For a restaurant where fresh fish is abundant daily this place is disappointing in that the server could only recommend one item as an identifiable fish and fresh. The first server just turned around and left us saying not to ask her anything about the fish. The second guy at least tried. This place will struggle and barely make it. Sorry, not interested in returning. Oh, and also watch out for the way they charge credit cards. They run it with the cost of the meal, then when you indicate how much for tip we were told that they go back and adjust the charge manually. Not saying they are doing anything wrong, just weird that they change amount charged later.

Me and my family have eaten here for the longest and we’ve always had a great experience. Very delicious food, the waiters were so nice and we’re very friendly. My family and I ate here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 4 days and I also recommend the watermelon juice, very refreshing.

We were here buying for 7ppl kids and adults. All the food was amazing! We are from Tampa so we are pretty harsh critics on Cuban food. Only thing is if your on a budget, ask about prices as there are no prices on the photo menu. We got a Cuban, flank steak with rice, shrimp salad, roast pork dinner and an egg dish that had hash browns and lots of other fun stuff in it. Delish!

With the good reviews we expected good food. Big disappointment! We wanted items on menu like Piccadio one of our favorite Cuban, turns out they make certain dish’s each day and you get to pick from choices you might not like. They did make us a media noche. It was soooo greasy and no pickles. The rest of the food was the same. High on grease low on taste. Big disappointment.

Thankfully La Niña lived up to the reviews and gave us a great first Cuban meal. Yes, it's a bit basic with benches outside etc but the waiters were very friendly and welcoming and ultimately the food was all delicious! We had the roast pork, beef, milanese chicken and mahi mahi and we couldn't fault anything. Would happily recommend to anyone who wants decent, flavoursome food.

We have been going to La Nina's for almost 10 years and have nothing but praise for their food. In March of 2023, we went there about 8 times. On the last visit, we got take out and my wife paid but did not notice a 15% tip was added. I went back later to have this removed. The person that charged us was Danielle and said that's their policy. The owners were not around to talk with and the other service people that were there would not even respond when I said I had receipts where this charge was not added for take out before. I have their menu and there is no mention of a 15% service charge of any kind. I am not Latino and obviously a tourist-so maybe that is what is behind this person's actions. If I go there in the future, I will ask before ordering and not order if that is their new policy. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

I’ve been to many Cuban restaurants, mostly in Florida (Miami) but this place has the very best Cuban sandwich I have ever eaten...and I’ve eaten a lot! Big chunks of pork, perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. My wife and I split one for lunch and it was more than enough. Had the Vaca Frita (grilled shredded beef) and I would have preferred it a bit more done but the flavor was wonderful. Biggest issue with the restaurant is parking. Right on US-1 (Highway of death) and almost impossible to get in/out of their few parking spaces. For now on we will ride our bikes!

We were looking for a restaurant where we could get some Whole fried fish at a fair price. We searched the internet and looked at a lot of menus. This Cuban restaurant that had great reviews and the best price. We thought it would be a good lunch stop. We drove past it one evening and saw it was very busy and the outside patio was full.
On day 2, my wife wanted to go somewhere nicer with a water view unfortunately I finished my shore fishing trip a little late and it was too late to make her restaurant. We called La Niña Restaurant 5 minutes before closing time of 10pm on Sunday, the lady answered and said they were closed. We asked could we make an order for pickup. We were only 3 minutes away. She took our order. If she didn’t we would have been eating fast food because everything was closed or closing soon.
We arrived at the restaurant and they were cleaning up for the night. My wife waited in the small inside dining room. It was ready in about 15 minutes. My wife and I Laughed, when they brought out the meal. It was a fried whole Yellow tail snapper, fried plantains, and a salad.
They gave us the usual large white takeout container then they handed us the fish wrapped in aluminum foil separately. The fish was too big for the container, it was about 15-16 inches long. The price was so good $22, we were thinking it would be a small fish. They really took really good care us going out of there was to serve up another meal for us. The fish was fried perfectly and seasoned perfectly. Very tasty. The salad and plantains were also good. It was enough for 2 people.
Of course we are going again on our next trip!

Have been coming to the Keys for decades. This was our first time here, and we were really glad we stopped. Cuban Sandwich is HUGE and delicious. Their rice & beans are really good and are a bit reserved on the flavor side, but absolutely authentic and great with hot sauce. The roast pork appetizer was fantastic, crunchy yet juicy as it should be. The Tamal was good as well. Wine & Beer place, great prices, huge plates of food (even the appetizers are big). Servers were knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly. It helped that I speak Spanish with some of them - that made it a lot of fun. This will easily become a regular stop for us.

one of the best restaurants in marathon. We eat their whenever we’re in the area. The portions are huge and the prices are great. The staff couldn’t be better very attentive and polite. Food comes out fast hot and delicious. One of the best Cuban restaurants in south Fl.

The best Cuban sandwich! It was so, so good! I recommend splitting the Cuban and ordering sides of yellow rice, black beans, and plantains. My sister is vegetarian and she had juevos rancheros and really liked the potatoes. My mom had pork, yellow rice, beans, and plantains and raved about it.

I can’t imagine all of these good reviews that were previously written were by people who live in a city that has authentic Cuban food. The staff was friendly. But food was mediocre, bland, and way overpriced. $40 for roasted pork and shrimp creole (before tip). Maybe eating there might be a better experience and better food. This is our second time ordering take out. Wasn’t very good the first time but wanted to try one more time and a classic dish such as roast pork. Much better places for Cuban. Sorry!
