Yes, there are many restaurants that serve breakfast in Marathon. Yes, they all have the same basic menu items - pancakes, eggs, etc.. HOWEVER, the difference between these restaurants will come down to two things that Porky's excels in - quality of the meal prepared and service. I highly recommend Porky's! Our meal was cooked exactly to order, was hot when served, and very tasty. And, the service was impeccable. Kerr welcomed us, offered us the "best table in the house," and was very attentive to ensure that we had everything we desired. Lastly, Steven - a teenager who could have easily been in bed sleeping and enjoying a lazy Summer - was instead working as Kerr's helper. Steven was a little nervous, but determined to, in his own special way, ensure that we were happy with our breakfast experience. He was kind, helpful, and offered his assistance with anything that wanted. Please make a point of dining at Porky's. You will not be disappointed.

We came at lunch time. I had a restaurant.com certificate and it was not a problem to use it. We spent around $50 for two people to eat with iced tea to drink. I got the pulled pork platter with two sides. It was a very large amount and I was stuffed. There is extra sauce on the table. Other reviews said that the meat was dry but I didn't feel that and there was plenty of sauce if you wanted more. The potato salad was real good. My boyfriend got the burger with pork on top. This is an open air restaurant. The bathrooms were out back on the dock. The had a sign up that says dogs were welcome. I love that. I was not traveling with my dog but I'm all for that. We did see one dog drive on up and hang out quietly and like a good boy.

Bbq swordfish and jerk grouper sold us day one of our vacation. We both said it was the best fish we'd ever eaten. So day 2 we went back for happy hour and we got the $6 pulled pork sliders (3 of them) and thr deap fried pork belly. It was ok but nothing like the day before. Day 3, we went back for the grouper again and the lobster tacos. Again- amazing! So you really do get what you pay for. The berry mojitos were also super delish.

We came here for dinner because it was next to our accommodation in Key West. a very bad decision afterwards. It is hard to understand how this place can have so many good reviews. We had 2 times ribs, pulled pork, sushi and as an attachment some lettuce and fries. the first time we had the food removed because it was cold (obviously a case of too badly heated). when we got the food back the sparerribs smelled so bad that we didn't eat this. The meat did not come off the bone and was very rancid and dirty. We decided to talk to the manager, a woman, who told us that the food was great. after half an hour of discussion and after she had called the owner, we did not have to pay 1 dish and got 50% on the other dish that was not even touched! Furthermore we had to pay 5 euros for the salad (a few leaves and a tomato) and so I had to pay for the dirty ribs that I did not eat. Really sad how this went, and we feel sorry for the waiters because they were super friendly. Porky’s doesn’t have a fresh kitchen, everything is warmed up or fried. there is no bbq, and the bbq meat is delivered in the morning, so you will not get fresh food! the sushi was okay, but also not prepared on site. After this experience we were no longer hungry and therefore lost 30 dollars for an empty stomach.

We saw this place and everytime we drove was busy so we decided to go on our last night, it wasn't crazy busy at that moment. Got seated right away by friendly hostess, our server Adderly was good with his food recommendations, we had Cuban style pulled pork bbq, corn on the cob which was delicious, beans were averaged, jambalaya was different but really good. We enjoyed our last meal at this friendly place big difference from sunset grille where we experience bad service and unfriendly staff. Thank you Porky's keep up the good work!

We were wanting to get in there for the Monday special beer can chicken it was 19.99 for a whole chicken or 14.99 for a half . but sides were at extra 9.00 on top of it I feel 30.00 for a whole chicken and side is way to much for a entree. I was disappointed in that as we go there at least once a week. I spoke to the manager and she verified what I just said.

Stopped in on a Monday night after returning from a day trip in Key West. Place was busy but we got right in. Took a long time to get drink orders but that's just where it starts. We ordered jalapeno poppers as an appetizer but they greasy and some were still cold and not fully fried. Two of the four dinners were acceptable. I ordered a catfish sandwich which was slimy, not done in my mind and I should have sent it back but didn't. Another in our party ordered a full rack of ribs and at the first bite he could tell something was off. After a couple more bites he pushed it away. I tried one and agreed with him they tasted horrible. They also got his side wrong but that wouldn't have mattered. Then when the waitress came back and she asked if he wanted it in a box and he said no, she didn't even ask why. This was a huge rack of ribs sitting barely eaten in front of him and they didn't even ask if anything was wrong! Then the head waitress came by with the check and again nothing was said. I was crappy evening at Porky's both the service and the food.

Clueless server and a Fish & Chips meal ($27.99) that looked like hot lunch from the NYC public school system in the 1970s. When asked for vinegar, normally served with Fish & Chips, the server brought Raspberry Vinaigrette. Not what I expected. Hamburger ordered Medium, came out Well. In addition, the entertainer complained during his set that people were talking while he was playing. An overall disappointing experience. I will not recommend or return.

Passed this place a hundred times before. Should have made it 100 and 1. Food is not up to par with other restaurants in Marathon. Not really close either. Fresh mahi was a grey color and extremely tough in texture. We've been eating fresh mahi for a solid week. Pretty sure of what it's supposed to be. After arguing the freshness of the catch, a second filet was provided. Much better than the first, but miles away from good. A lot of times service can make up for poor food, but poor service makes poor food taste even worse. Couldn't get a single rrefill from our server. Spent over an hour in the restaurant. Never have written a bad review but this was truly a disappointing experience.

Thank you for your visit and taking your time to write us review. Your party of 16 with few separate checks showed up with no reservation. Even though we were very busy at that time we did our best to sit you and provide with service immediately. There was no argument about Mahi. Once we found out that you were not happy with texture of your fish, we brought you another fillet and you were satisfied at that time with it. Mahi comes from a local fishery and as busy we are - we sell tens of pounds of that fish weekly. We had no other complaints from other patrons about our Mahi Mahi. The manager brought you water refills since your server was busy. We are very sorry that we couldn’t meet your expectations. We hope you will try us again.

Okay, the highlight here was the Key lime pie. And eating it watching a pelican in the marina. Damn good. Adult son got a pulled pork sandwich he was good with, husband got a blackened mahi he was happy with. I got a shrimp sandwich that was too little shrimp and too much bun. I give that sandwich 2 stars. And service was kind of ridiculous. She tried but knew nothing about anything on the menu, hadn't tried anything they made there, and just didn't seem to know anything! Frustrating for a first time visitor, but at least she didn't abandon us.

We almost left but are glad we didn't. When we entered, the server tried to seat us right next to another customer. We refused. As soon as we were seated, she put another party right next to us. We said "no" and the other party also asked to be moved away from us. This was frustrating and awkward. The restaurant was almost empty so we did not understand their problem with social distancing. That being said, we were happy we stayed. They served the best fried shrimp I have ever eaten and everyone at the table ate my onion rings and half my shrimp. Huge portions. My daughter loved the grilled catfish, and my husband devoured his peel and eat shrimp which were large and fresh. I would have rated everything a 5 plus had it not been for the social distancing fiasco. Our server was excellent...friendly and efficient. I am sorry I did not ask his name.

We went here for breakfast. My boyfriend ordered the corned beef hash with eggs and grits. He piles it all together and smothers it in hot sauce so he was fine. I ordered pancakes with a side of corned beef hash. The pancakes tasted like cardboard. Even when I dumped "syrup" on them, they had zero taste. Same with the corned beef hash. It obviously came from a very cheap can. I took a couple bites of pancakes and one bite of corned beef hash and that was it. My boyfriend took one bite of the pancakes and agreed. I set the plates aside and waited. The waitress came to check on us and I told her I was sorry, but I didn't like it. She asked if I wanted something else, but I said no, I really didn't. She said "OK. I can take half off for you." I said "Ma'am, I didn't eat it. I am not paying for something I didn't eat." She said she would check with the manager. About 10 minutes later, the waitress came back holding a ticket. She was very nervous and started apologizing that she was just the server and doing what she was told. She set the ticket on the table and said we were told to never come back. The "manager" was actually the owner. She stayed in the kitchen and never came out. Our ticket was for $18 (his meal and $3 a piece for 2 ice teas.) I paid exactly $18 in cash and we left. I have never been so insulted by a restaurant in my life. It would have been one thing if I had eaten it, then tried to say I didn't like it, but I didn't eat it and they still wanted me to pay for it. When I refused to pay for something I didn't eat, they then kicked us out. WOW! What that owner fails to realize is we are not "tourists." She could have seen us and our money a lot because we live in Florida and will be spending a lot of time at Capt Pips Hideaway right next door. As it is, she will never see another dollar from me or anyone we know. Don't waste your time or money here.

Dear Ma’am, Thank you for your visit. When you were served breakfast and the server came back to check on you, you mentioned that you were not happy with your pancakes and side of corn beef hash. Your boyfriend had no complaints about his meal - eggs and corn beef hash with side of grits. You were not charged for your meal and you were arguing with the waitress refusing to pay for your boyfriend’s meal which he already entirely consumed. For that reason you were asked by the waitress to pay for his meal and 2 teas only. We completely removed your pancakes and corn beef hash. The decision to charge for your boyfriend’s meal was made by our manager on duty ‘not the owner’. Besides we treat all our customers equally - that includes the visitors or locals. We will appreciate if you keep your word and not visit us again!

Good food and good service for the most part. I had the Jamaican jerk mahi mahi with tropical salsa and it came with two side which I chose southern fried corn on the cob and coleslaw all were very good Hubby chose the coconut grouper fingers and coconut Florida bay shrimp with pina cololda sauce liked them both but had his fill of grease. We ordered the fried pork belly which was a good started but could only eat a couple of pieces as it was way way to solid deep fried grease. But had to try it. The fried key lime pie that is top rated was - OK, prefer it straight up . Overall there was live music and our other two options for dinner in marathon on a Monday evening were closed, so this was our option and like I said it was good . Local joint or so it appeared and that is what we prefer. But probably a one and done for us- we prefer something a little more fresh and less greasy.

Read reviews and decided to try as they sounded good. Views are nice. Restaurant decor was cute. Our waitress told us it was her first night, so we tried to be very patient. But it took 3 tries for her to get hubby’s drink order right, which was a mixed berry mojito. First she brought an old fashioned, then a regular mojito, and finally the mixed berry one. Then she walked by several times and said “I’ll be with you in a minute”. 25 minutes after seating us, she finally took our food order. Hubby ordered pulled chicken and beef brisket. He said it wasn’t bad but a little dry. His homemade potato salad, coleslaw and applesauce didn’t have much flavor. I had the Jamaican jerk shrimp with fresh tropical salsa. There was too much spice that you really didn’t taste the shrimp. And I thought tropical salsa would have mango and pineapple, but it looked like pico de gallo with 1 very small piece of pineapple in it. I probably will not return here on any future trips to the Keys.

Restaurant & restrooms are clean & inviting. There is only 1 restroom stall for women & 1 for men. So make sure that you secure & lock the restroom door when you enter the stall. We ordered over easy eggs, ham slices, home fries & toasts. There are art gallery & water sport rentals outside the restaurant. We know that these feral cats are adorable but please do NOT feed them. We recommend that patrons rent jet skis 1st, then dine & finally walk along the art gallery for relaxation because you don’t want to create homemade carnival salsas if you decide to dine a big meal before renting the jet skis or boating on choppy waves.
