Recommended by people at the local beach club who said try to make reservations because it’s not that large and fills up quickly. We did and it does and there is a reason. Great service (Joe) & great food. We wanted shrimp parmigiana but it wasn’t on the menu. No problem and it was hot and delicious. One of our group had veal parmigiana and they raved about it. Warm crusty bread greats you and the meals come with either soup or salad. Lobster bisque was quite good but could have used a dash of sherry. Main dish came with your choice of pasta. Dessert was tiramisu and lemoncello, both very tasty. We had 1/2 carafe of Chianti and our friends each had a glass of Merlot. Bill for four was $160.

Had a wonderful dinner tonight. Girlfriend and I took my mom out to dinner and we were very pleased with the food and service. The mussels appetizer was wonderful. All three of us enjoyed the lobster bisque. Now, I MUST rave about the Lamb osso bucco on special. My server told me the lamb shank was fall off the bone tender and she was right. I guess etiquette requires that they bring me a knife but I didn’t use it. I could have removed the meat from the bone with a cheap plastic spoon. Mom loved her shrimp scampi and my lady enjoyed her chicken Marsala. We will definitely be back again soon! Service was everything you would expect from such a classy joint. Thank you a wonderful evening!

We could only get a reservation for the minute they opened because they were booked solid otherwise until 8:00 PM, which was way too late for us. When we arrived the closed sign was still in the door, but we could see people seated at a long table, so I tried the door and it was unlocked. We were immediately seated and our waitress asked if we wanted water right away. Seemed like a good start. Then she was back telling us about the specials, and, BTW, asked if we wanted a drink, which we did. When she brought our wine she asked what we wanted to order and we said we hadn’t even had an opportunity to look at the menu. She replied,”relax, take your time” and she left. But she was back within a couple of minutes asking for our order. There was still no one else in the restaurant at this point. I said we were still looking and asked if she could give us a few more minutes to make our decision and she agreed to our request, but she was back within a couple of minutes asking for our order again. WHY THE RUSH??? By 5:15 there were two other tables filled, but still a half dozen empty tables. We placed our order and I got one of the specials-lamb Osso bucco- and my husband ordered spaghetti with sausage, peppers and onions. We got our salads but before either of us had finished our meal arrived. Rush, rush, rush! My lamb was fabulous served over perfectly prepared risotto, but my husband’s spaghetti was drowned in sauce-not good for a proper Italian restaurant. By 6:00 the restaurant was filling up but our waitress was now paying no attention to us. It was another half hours or more before we got our leftovers boxed up and were given our bill. Then another 15 minutes before our bill was paid, and the place still was not full. Being rushed like that, for no apparent reason, ruined our enjoyment of the food and the drowning of the pasta was another turnoff. We don’t plan to go back again.

I ordered the Filet Oscar special. When I got my steak it was overcooked. Medium instead of medium rare. The server asked me if she should take it back and re-cook. I sad yes. To my suprise I received my plate back 5 min later with the explanation that this filet is medium rare and the will not cook another one 😳. I guess if you get your $50 dish not properly cooked, don’t send it back because the chef will tell you otherwise. Suggest to wait staff not to ask since the chef will through it right back in your face! The linguini with clams we’re drenched in white sauce and the lobster bisque was tasteless with no lobster in it! Not worth the money, very disappointing and we will NEVER go back!

The first thing I would do do if I owned this place is rename it. Frank's Grill just does not cut it for a place that serves such fantastic Italian fare. My wife and I tried the pastas, mine with meat sauce and hers with garlic and oil. The portions were large enough for two people along with great salads and hot rolls served with olive oil dip and butter. This restaurant is rather small so reservations are recommended. People were lined up to get in when we left. They seem to do a great takeout pizza business as well and our neighboring table had what looked to be a great pizza they were devouring. We cannot wait to go back on our next visit to try some of the other items on the menu. Our server made sure we never lacked anything during our meal. The pasta was so good we packed up what was left for takeout as it was too good to leave behind. You will not regret dining here. The restaurant is set back from the highway so it is easy to miss if you are not careful.

Eggplant parmigiana was very good and they were kind to swap out the pasta for broccoli. Hubby had the ziti with broccoli, garlic & oil, and chicken and it was very good. Dinner portions are HUGE. We should have ordered 1 item to share. Salads were fresh and bread was hot. The only disappointment was the key lime pie. It was a whipped and airy version vs the traditional. Would pass on that the next time. Ordered takeout and Joe was awesome. Will probably stop for lunch next time we are in town.

My family and I did a fishing charter in Marathon and were given a recommendation to take our catch to Frank's Grill to be prepared. So glad we did - everything was phenomenal! We had blackened mackerel, fried yellow tail, and yellowjack "Diane". It was a lot of food - large portions so be prepared :) We all agreed it was one of the best meals we've ever eaten!

We heard a lot of good things about Frank’s, but we tried it on our first night in Marathon and we were very disappointed. The food has little to no flavor, the vegetables that were served were clearly frozen and warmed up, then served. Our lobster bisque was nothing to speak of, it looked like it came out of a can. Honesty we aren’t sure why it is recommended at all. There are many other great places to eat in Marathon, our favorite being the Lighthouse Grill! Don’t waste your time people!

I picked up a menu and cannot wait to go back and have a full meal. We just left the beach about an hour and a half ago and we were both hungry. I had a huge salad already prepared so we thought it would be nice to have some soup and bread to go with it. So on the way home from the beach we stopped at Frank’s grill and picked up a container of lobster bisque. The container made two bowls which I will show in a picture below. It was so delicious. Frank’s bisque is creamy and has some nice chunks of lobster in it! I cannot comment on the other meals but we do plan to go back so I will do another post at another time. Thank you Franks grill for the delicious lobster bisque and wonderful bread. We enjoyed every single bite! We also really loved the garlic oil you sent with the bread! It was spectacular!

Frank's unique daily specials coupled with a classic Italian menu offer diners a vast range of delicious choices. The staff is wonderful but we like Joe's humor and energy. We enjoy bringing our fresh catch in and have Frank prepare it various ways. Homemade desserts made daily are to die for. You'll need a reservation because they're that popular.

I didn’t know what to expect, but it’s Italian. Carla, our server, was really good, efficient but not invasive. I had spaghetti and meatballs, my wife and brother in law had the special, my brother had shrimp Alfredo. The special was sun-dried tomatoes and broccoli ziti, it was light and delicious. Mark’s Alfredo was super, my red sauce was great. We enjoyed the bread and most of all, the HUGE pours of Chianti. It is a rather small place, not fancy, but delicious food.

Chef Frank has been at it for years, and this spot is popular with locals, transients and snow birds! Best have a reservation as in season he fills the tables every night, for larger parties reserve well in advance! The food is wonderful, especially the daily special board which generally has Osso Buco, Italian veal dishes, assorted fresh fish like snapper and grouper prepared in many tasty ways: Francese, Picatta,, plus fresh Gnocchi with cream and mushrooms, and all the Parmesan dishes. Fresh bread, great salads including Caesar, warm bread with butter or oil, and fresh roasted garlic. Do t think of leaving without at least sharing a few bites of Joanna’s out of this world cheese cake or one of the other satisfying desserts. You don’t want to miss this!

On vacation with my husband...this is high caliber, authentic Italian food. The tomato sauce took me back to how my Italian grandmother made it...like fresh tomatoes run through a sieve with fresh basil. I had breaded and fried snapper that was perfectly cooked, delicate, with capers and artichoke in lemony delicate sauce. My husband had shrimp and scallops in tomato sauce. Service was friendly. GET A RESERVATION...its a local favorite and yearly "best restaurant" according to all the awards on the wall.
