While visiting my friend in Islamorada she took us to Meze, a Mediterranean style cuisine that blew us away. Perfect portions, incredible flavors and a super friendly staff run this quaint little restaurant that doesn’t disappoint. We shared the hummus sampler (carmelized onion hummus, babaganoush and the whipped red pepper feta) and it was so delicious we ordered more of the homemade pita to ensure that we left nothing to waste. The chicken kabob was superb, my friends had the warm pear and cheese entree which was a totally new flavor combination and the classic falafels was a perfect choice for my plant based friend. The ending of the meal was a homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream that was creamy and light with bittersweet chocolate chips.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s looking for something off the beaten path in Islamorada and it’s worth the drive if you’re staying in either Key Largo or father south. You’ll to experience a meal that you’ll be dreaming about for months to come.

Someone recommended that we come here and give it a try and I couldn't have been happier. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is amazing. Small plates to share and you can just taste the freshness. You don't walk out of here overstuffed or too full but you walk out of here feeling healthy and energized. I will come eat here again. We had the chicken, brussel sprouts, the hummus taster, and the grape leaves and everything was superb. Will recommend to others

The Florida Keys have so much to offer guests and locals alike. There is amazing scenery, world class fishing, abundant recreational activities and a laid back vibe (when the big city to the north is not invading). Sadly, in the middle/upper Keys, dining diversity is lacking. Fried seafood, frozen conch and Key Lime everything is great, for a while. Eventually, it starts to feel monotonous.
Enter Meze Morada.
To start, Meze is small. Only a handful of tables and a limited bar area. The decor is spartan, but bright and comfortable. There are some tables outside, which are great when the wind is up and cooling things down a bit.
The owners, Dave and Calli (sp?) are usually there and are wonderfully friendly, accommodating and happy to help with the ever-changing seasonal menu. And what a menu! It's clear that the concept is very personal for the owner/chef. It feels like you are eating Grandma's traditional and comfort food recipes, yet sometimes with a twist.
Items not to miss:
The spread sampler with fresh pita. This is not your grocery store pita. It is light, airy and perfect for tearing and dipping into one of the many offerings. The Zhug hummus is spicy and freshly 'green' flavored. The superstar though is the red pepper and whipped feta spread.
All of the skewers are good for a traditional protein offering, and are very approachable for kids.
If Dave has lamb ribs on the menu, you might want to just go ahead and get two orders. Over the summer the preparation included a marinated watermelon rind salad on the plate and it was soo wonderfully unique in both taste and texture.
The Halumi cheese is a staple on the menu, but the construction of the dish changes with the seasons. No matter what form it takes, it's a winner.
I could go on and on, but the TL;DR here is that we are locals, this is our favorite spot, and we have not ordered anything from the menu that we would not order again. I cannot say that about many, if any, other restaurants in the Keys.
They also just started lunch on limited days. Ate there yesterday and would be there again today if they were open. It's that good (and FAST!).
Meze Morada is the kind of place that the middle and upper Keys needs, and needs to support.

When you get tired of the endless fried-fish baskets and cheeseburger options in the Keys, be sure to stop by Meze Morada on Islamorada. What an incredible find! Perfectly sized menu. Handmade, and freshly baked pita bread. And all of the fresh creativity you expect from a meze restaurant. Even had a well thought-out wine menu. Friendly staff, and very clean environment. It's making me hungry just writing this review.

My husband and I own a small luxury hotel in the south and take our annual executive retreat someplace new each year. This year we visited the Keys and during our stay in Islamorada, we happened upon this place very nearby to our hotel. We tried to get dinner there only to find out it closes at 4PM - it's a lunch place right now. Not to be deterred, we stopped here for lunch on our way BACK to Miami from Key West 6 days after we tried to have dinner there. OMG. My husband is from the Mediterranean and is always looking for authentic food he grew up eating. He was blown away (as was I, but he in particular is difficult to impress with his ethnic foods). The service was amazing. We both had the Lamb & Beef Kofta Pitas with a side of fries. AMAZING. Hands down the best meal we had the entire trip and we ate at many great establishments. I'd fly there again to stay just to be close to this restaurant, it is THAT good.

Start to finish everything was delicious and very affordable.
Holly was very outgoing and indeed loves her job as she has been in hospitality for many years it takes certain kind of person to last in hospitality especially now with this virus and to have a positive outlook that shows though her
The menu is easy to read and explains any questions
Had the simpler of three smoked
Baba ghanouj, whipped feta and peppers , and green chili hummus were all fantastic homemade pita bread makes you order more even if your too full to enjoy it
Lamb short ribs were so flavorful not too fatty just enough herbs where it doesn't over power the meat.
Have to try their new lunch menu next time
Nice wine menu with choices of daft beer and bottle/cans too

By far the best meal I have had in my one week visit to the Keys!
The dishes are Tapas style. Small dishes to be shared. Believe me, you will want to try them all!
Fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, bursting with flavor.
We had the beet dish, Brussel sprouts, mint lamb and chicken kabobs.
Ended with homemade dark chocolate ice cream and homemade bubblegum ice cream.
Service was superb and the food was amazing.

I’m a local & dine here frequently. Never have had a bad meal. Fresh & high quality Mediterranean cuisine. You will find the owner in the kitchen and it’s obvious he cares a great deal about the food.
My favorites include the custom pitas and bowls, Baba Gannoush, Taboulleh, and Zatar fries. The freshly made ice cream is also awesome. Beer and wine selection is limited, but has quality choices.
You can’t go wrong with this place.

If you’re in need of a fresh salad, Meze Morada is a must. We enjoyed a pair of their lunch salads and were blown away by the freshness of the lettuce and tomatoes. If you go, I would also recommend the turmeric and lime homemade soda which was also amazing.

Service was professional, wine selection was good, and all of the food was fresh and yummy. Mediterranean ingredients and seasonings you didn't realize you were missing but you really were. More vegetarian options than all other Isla restaurants combined. Nice ambiance. I can't wait to go back.

While chatting up a local at a brewery (we are coming from snow country) she said we should try this place. What a great meal. I could live on their fresh baked pita and best-hummus-ever for the rest of my life! Trust me, I am a tough critic. Staff was really great, food was served as described...exceeded expectations. Very personalized service. Cant say enough great things. Wish I could take them home to Ohio with me, it would become my comfort food!

Nice little quiet place. Great food. Service was very quick. It does take a few minutes for them to get to you. But once they get your order, the food comes out so quick. Are you got a check them out. Try their ice cream. And build your own pita or bowl. And the best french fries in the whole state of Florida.

This place is amazing. Very NEW, almost a year old, Mediterranean influenced restaurant. Holly helped us figure out the menu, short and sweet. Which made selecting the food easy. We did everything family style, tried it all. Great place if you want something other than a fish sandwich. The fresh made pita totally wowed us!! The beets were fantastic and so was the lamb. Bravo!!!
Look forward to going back after the plague has passed!!

I love this place. A lot has changed because obviously, COVID. But you can't beat the food. The staff is nice and efficient. They have weird hours which is my only sadness because I wanted pitas yesterday at 5:35pm to be exact LOL. Fresh and delicious. Locally owned and a nice change from a fish sandwiches.
BRAVO!!!

Fresh, fantastic Mediterranean sandwiches, spreads, and dishes. Different from all the rest, not touristy, just a flavorful great meal. You have to get the fries- best I’ve ever had.
