Good, not great, regarding the food and experience. With everyone seated and served through out the restaurant at the same time it didn’t feel special. In the reservation I mentioned that we we were celebrating a Birthday and an Anniversary. No mention of either by our...server. Maybe our expectations were too high based on reviews, but we were disappointed that the restaurant didn’t live up to the hype. We spoke to another couple that had high expectations as well. They were also disappointed. No need to rush back.More

The food here is really good, yes its pricey. However, they have a really nice reasonably priced wine menu which is always nice to see. One note, we ordered a bottle and I tasted it..the server didnt finish pouring the glass for me, he just...left the tasting sample and poured for the rest of the table, it was just funny and the guy was super cool. Service was awesome that part was just kind of funny. The staff is really helpful and nice, including the hostess, maybe she is an owner or manager. Which there are some hostesses around here in Key West that are totally on their own planet so that is very nice when you have one actually like running the place well. I gave 5 stars as a rating but gotta be honest its more like 4.5. Why? Well unfortunately we had a member of our party with a mild shrimp allergy. Not like he will have anaphylaxis or anything but he does get a rash, so its not ever anything worth mentioning, he just doesnt order shrimp for himself and its no big deal. Sooo..the night we went I think every single entree aside from the beef stroganoff and the snapper had shrimp. I swear when I looked online they had more options without shrimp because I do consider that issue when dining with this person. So I was expecting a little more variety within the entrees. that was the only part that was kind of disappointing. Luckily i dont have a shrimp allergy cause that shrimp toast app is freaking awesome. The lavender cheese cake is beautiful and tasty and I actually dont like cheesecake very much so that was nice.More

A casual meeting at JFK airport lead us to Red Shoe in Key West. My husband and I are very fussy about our food and Red Shoe did not disappoint. We are only upset at ourselves for not going sooner. The welcome from the owner...was so warm and inviting along with our waitress Suzi who was excellent. The Red Shoe attention to detail with my husband ordering the most delicious Beef Stroganoff, the cooks Polish grandmothers recipe reminded us of our grandparents food from Europe. The home made noodles were so delicious I could not stop eating my husbands meal. I did promise next time I will order my own Beef Stroganoff. I order the seared scallops with baked ricotta and feta spinach which was delicious with the pine nuts reminding me of Europe. Our dessert was the Lavender Cheese Cake unbelievable so light and delicious you can't leave without trying it. Thank you Red Shoe Island Bistro with such a delicious meal, atmosphere and attention to detail.More

I was so excited to take my husband here as this restaurant is obviously highly rated, and he loves seafood whereas I do not. The food was delicious- the pork belly crostini to start were very good. He had the grouper as the fish of...the day and was very pleased with it, while I had the beef stroganoff and really enjoyed it! The food prices were good for the quality & portion! We ended the meal with the key lime pie which we both thought was our favorite we’ve had! Not super sweet and a good crust to filling ratio- IYKYK! Very generous wine selection. We were recommended to try the signature wine flight; we enjoyed all but the Cab Sav was the obvious winner and we enjoyed glasses of that with dinner. We were kind of disappointed with the service- it started off great, but as our server got 2 larger tables ordering bottles of wine and multiple apps, we felt cast off and it was kind of uncomfortable, even when everyone else started enjoying dinner and things seemingly calming down a little. He would clear our dishes so quickly that trying to order or ask for something felt annoying. I realize the turnover of tables is busy and those servers, bar tender, & hostess bust their butts to do so. Easy location right off Duval and easy to walk to! Can’t speak to parking. We would return as the food was quite good! Make a reservationMore

Wonderful experience, from start to finish! We entered and were extremely over heated from the humidity, the maitre d, was very accommodating in trying to give us a table with the best air conditioning, he even moved us, when a cooler table opened up. Server...was extremely attentive and eager to please, he brought out an amazing Goat Cheese with Dill Amuse Bouche. Menu is a bit limited, though everything was delicious. For appetizers I had Pork Belly, which was ok and my wife had Caprese Salad. For dinner I had the Beef Stroganoff, which was excellent and my wife had a Shrimp stuffed with Lobster appetizer, very good. No room for dessert, I did have a very nice Ice Wine, which was the 1st time I have ever been offered Ice Wine in a restaurant, and it is one of my favorite after dinner drinks. I highly recommend the Red Shoe Island Bistro and will definitely come back next time we are in Key WestMore

We tried our luck without a reservation, having seen the great rating in tripadvisor. Fortunately an outdoor table was available. This was undoubtedly one of our tastiest meals ever... the shrimp/mango toast and prawn dishes were both absolutely outstanding. Lovely service and a great find...away from the Duval Street (wonderful but noisy) craziness! Thank you, we would most certainly return on our next trip out Key West way!More

Thanks to our waiter Sebastian and a great menu, we had a wonderful dinner experience here. He spoke highly of a few dishes, and we are glad that we trusted his judgement and ordered them. Hard to think of a better start to a nice...dinner than their grilled Caesar salad, it was the perfect portion and packed with flavor. The Pork Belly Crostinis and the Mango Shrimp Toast were also super flavorful and tasty, 5 star recommendations from Sebastian. One of our party had the Yellowtail Snapper entree and thought it was very good. Another had the grouper special served with sherry lobster sauce on an arepa. He is still raving about it days later, including the carrots on the side. I had the Seafood Medley and loved it, I had a pasta craving as soon as I saw it on the menu and it did not disappoint. We split a Key Lime Pie for dessert, and that was also very tasty. Good ratio of crust to filling. The restaurant has less of an island vibe, and more of a foodie vibe. It was a nice break from the tropical theme that most Key West places have. The service was amazing, many thanks to Sebastian and the kind hostess.More

We were there in April and they had outdoor seating. I don’t know about heaters. I’m not sure if it ever gets cool enough for heaters. I think the lowest it gets is high 60’s.
