We wanted to eat outside, it was hot and a bit to sunny. A server told us they have more outdoor seating in the bar area. Nice trees, foliage, lots of seating out of the sun. Nicely decorated. Live music was setting up just as we were leaving. The waitress was excellent, the food was delicious and I love the added touch of edible flowers to the plate. I ordered the beet salad with goat cheese. Our server recommended it with pulled pork (I would have chose boring chicken) and blueberry dressing (which was not the standard dressing). The salad was DELICIOUS. It’s been on my mind for the past 2 days. Cant wait til next week and we go back for a girls luncheon

I went there as soon as I got into town because it seemed like a cute and unique place, and it really is. I love lomi salmon and was interested to see their take on it. It was chopped cooked salmon but someone sliced it perfectly so no stringy bits. I went back the next day, had pork agave nachos that were also really good. The atmosphere is so cute and laid back, you might think you're in Hawaii. The drinks were the best, I love how the menu gives you a little history on where and when the drinks were invented. They have Irish coffee with Kona coffee and brandy! I highly recommend!

The lights are just beautiful, seating inside & out. We chose Tiki Bar to hear the live music but it didn't start till after 7pm. We'd just finished dinner, cuz got there at 5:30 & kitchen was very slow. So never got to hear it. I had tasty pork egg rolls, hubby had Big Island salad (his first dish when we discovered this place in 2017 or so), which he loved. Dessert was the pineapple upside down cake, what's not to like!
Prices have shot up like all over, but have you ever heard of an up-charge for a lil refill ramekin of dressing for your egg rolls, lol?
They do have a rewards program, but waitresses need to mention it. You have to put your phone # on the check to link it.

My wife and friends have been to Honu twice now for dinner. Nice atmosphere at the Tiki Bar. However, on our first visit, it took so long to get our beer that we were actually in the process of leaving when the beer arrived. So we drank our beers and left without dinner. And the restaurant was not very crowded.
On the 2nd visit, we again waited for our beers a ridiculous amount of time. And there was a bartender just standing behind the bar doing nothing. So I suspect that the server didn't put our order in for a while?? Or they are simply inexperienced. But we stuck it out and ordered dinner. All 4 of us had very mediocre meals. My salmon was fishy tasting and very dry. (Yes, I know that Salmon is a fish, but fresh salmon doesn't taste fishy). We will not go back again.
Also, the mixed drink cocktails are crazy expensive!

Was quite looking forward to eating here as a regular contributor to restaurant reviews but was grossly disappointed with the quality of the food. Service was very good but the ribs of the pupu platter were inedible. The burger was tough and served on a stale bun.
The fries were excellent tho. Would not go back or recommend unfortunately as it is a really cute place and the people were fantastic

I'm from Hawaii and I know Hawaiian food. The plate lunch cost $10.49. In Hawaii that would buy a plate groaning with two scoops of rice, one scoop of mac salad and kalua pork with taro leaf. The pork would be moist with chunks of pork fat. The mac salad would be simple, no peas, carrots, blue stuff. The rice would not be wet congealed "sushi rice."
What I got was a small portion, more a keiki portion in Hawaii for $6.99. Shredded pork, barbecued and slightly charred. The mac salad and sushi rice - well, see above. The taste was bland.

Just wow. The food is worse than ever and now the place looks like you are at Epcot Center's Pacific Island Display. High Prices to boot, Just wow!!! Hey, if putting a flower on a plate of tacos doesn't work dump all your cash to make the place look how you wish the food tasted I guess.

Receptionist (owner) was rude, condescending, and short upon our arrival. Paid for “reservations “ to a luau which was the Seventh time they have held one. It was raining and postponed Ordered drinks and food and asked about a credit on cancellation of festivities due to weather. Was told no refunds and should have been told as much when we paid the 30.00. (we weren’t). Stopped to eat and make reservations a couple of weeks ago and the person who paid had no idea of when or what it included much less mentioning no refund. The food that night was mediocre and way overpriced but we had been regulars for years and chalked it up to a bad night. Tonight we paid 100.00 for one plate of poor quality food and store bought nachos with 3 salsas. Fool me once shame on you. fool me twice shame on me. Will not return as there are many better restaurants with better customer service and better food and prices to take my money

I had heard so much about this place & was anxious to try it. I was very disappointed in the food. I will say it is cute little bar. The food was a big disappointment. I had the chicken sliders which were so dry I could hardly swallow them. I asked for additional sauce & it was still super dry. Perhaps if there had been a small slide of slaw it would have helped. Had I not been so hungry, I would have sent dish back. My daughter had the moon fish sandwich & a side salad. She said her meal was fine. WouId I go back again, maybe...but just for drinks & only if I just happened to be in the general location.

Menu is nearly all appealing to me and reminds me of the islands. For novelty, asked for spam tacos. Were good—recommend adding some pineapple salsa to put into the excellent category. Purple sweet potatoes good—carmelized onions added in would put them up another level. Overall, good food, good location and excellent service. I would go back. Mahalo!

It's always so pretty driving by, we're supporting the small local places during Covid. This time had lomi salmon appetizer w/cucumbers, big & tasty. Hubby had paniolo burger, very juicy w/creamy sauce & cheese, & these delish sweet potato fries (I stole quite a few, lol). Didn't get to try dessert, but I swear next time we will & I hope it's soon.

I went here on a lazy Sunday evening for a few cocktails with my husband! The bartender Ian was very knowledgable and personable. He was quite the mixologist! I enjoyed sitting at the bar and not having to worry about social distancing since their was plenty of room.
The unique, curated flavors served in glasses to match added to the vibe! The decor of tiki statues, blow fish and pineapples along with the music rocked!

A buddy and I went this Saturday instant and it was such a welcome surprise. I have been wanting to try this place for a while and we finally went, and it was better than I could hope. So rare that anyplace exceeds your expectations. The Pu Pu Plater was SOOO good. The beef, the ribs, those rolls!! And the Mai Tai's. fuhgeddaboudit!
This place brought us back to those classic Tiki places of our youth. Bob Lees' Islander of Boston's Chinatown and Bob Loo's of Salem NH back in the day. Those places were not just the same run of the mill Chinese restaurants of New England yore that were very good in their own right, but that sweet and savory magical Oasis of Polynesian inspired delights and decor from the original Tiki craze.
The food was amazing. A Pu Pu with a side of sticky rice was plenty for two. I hope to go back soon and convince them to add a double stack of a Huli-Huli Chicken and Kalua Pork to the lunch menu since that is crack to me. We sat outside at the Tiki Bar but then went inside after to check out the amazing decor inside, grab a Tiki mug and look forward to the Rum sipping bar when it's up and running.
My only complaint is that its 80 minutes from home. But luckily my buddy lives in Plam Harbor with a spare room.

Just the prettiest place, lights & vibe, etc. Not many peeps there this visit, but we wanted to support them, so stopped in as we just moved to Dunedin from CW Beach. I had spam musubi, but seemed smaller & had no sauce near it or for spinach leaves. Hubby had mixed plate but it had no sauces on the meats. Pineapple cake didn't seem nearly as flavorful as before either. But we just enjoyed the beauty & hope to try Tiki Bar out back when it's warmer.

Atmosphere was great, service was good, drinks were good but way too much $$$. Our food was a huge disappointment. When your wife says we are going to have to go somewhere to get something to eat… portions were so small it was impossible to tell if it was actually good or not… we had the tacos, 90% lettuce, with about a tablespoon of meat
