Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Great experience. We sat in the bar; we had a dinner salad and blue cheese Brussels sprouts; both delicious. For dinner I had the lemon salmon on the risotto; amazing and partner had the italian gumbo. He ate every bite. This place was amazing and...the food was awesome. Ambiance in the bar is very nice.More

Fantastic meal and service. Atmosphere warm and quiet - very relaxing. The waiter, Scott, was quite busy but still "on it" with attention to us and our meal. I ordered a custom pizza which they were happy to accommodate - spicy Diavalo sauce, veggie with...chicken added and it was the bomb! The salad was crisp and fresh. Always a great choice.More

Wednesday night fairly quite in the restaurant. No probleming getting a table at 6pm for four and the service was good. We ordered 4 different entries and all were good. Calzone and stromboli where quite large with significant filling. We took half of each home...for another meal. Great value at $14. Two other pasta dishes were good but nothing special. Appreciate the complimentary heated bread for the table. Chocolate cake was very rich and excellent. The didn't offer to do anything special for the person in our party celebrating a special dinner.More

We had a great meal after a long day on the road. We decided to sit at the bar as the wait for a table was 30 minutes which is not excessive but we were tired. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us frequently...even though it was a busy Friday evening. My husband had Shrimp Scampi with Angle hair pasta that he said was delicious. I had Tuscan Salmon that was tender and delicious it was served over sautéed spinach, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and capers in a yummy lemon butter sauce. I could not finish it all because the serving was very generous. We both enjoyed wine with dinner and the servings were generous. I would definitely come here again when in Grand Junction!!More

Chose this restaurant out of convenience to our hotel. Just ordered a large pepperoni and extra cheese pizza. Was surprised by the size of their large pizza, no way the wife and I could eat it all. This was quite possibly the best pizza we...have ever had, tasted great very hot and fresh. Would recommend highly.More

Very disappointed. Spaghetti sauce and meatballs had good flavor. That was the only good thing. We came here because the online menu said they serve eggplant Parmesan. When we arrived they said they don’t. I asked for white Zinfandel or rose’ wine - not available....Table was sticky and needed wiped. Wine glass needed changed because it had food on the side of it. We were told they were out of garlic butter for the bread. We asked for regular butter. They said it was all put up. ??? - Guess it was too much work to take the butter out of the fridge??? - We came in at 8:15pm - the website said they close at 9. ? We absolutely felt like the last minute unwanted guests. Nope! Come early and hope for the best. Spaghetti was good. Don’t complicate it by asking for butter.More

OK, so I just discovered this little gem. Be aware, the food does take a while after you order it, so don't be in a hurry. Appetizers. First we had the Mussels Bianco and Roasted Brussel Sprouts. The Spouts were amazing, I would gladly order...them again. The sauce on the Mussels was great, although the mussels themselves were slightly overdone. Salads. We went for the Greek Salad and Caeser Salad. Both were very good. Entree. We decided on the Chicken Parmesan Diavolo and Buffalo Ravioli. Both were great, but the Buffalo Ravioli really stood out with an amazing sauce. The Chicken Parmesan Diavolo was great as well with a spicy sauce on the fettuccine that was excellent. I will eat either of these again next time. Service was Good. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the dishes and was a great help in deciding what we had. Full Bar, the Gin and Tonics were good as well as their Iced Tea The Grand Valley area, for the most part, is a culinary void with only an occasional restaurant that can provide a decent meal. I am glad to say Citrola's is one of the few good ones, Eat Here when you can.More

We liked this restaurant very much. The food was fabulous and so was the service. It was quiet, with lovely jazz music playing. Very comfortable. If we ever go to Grand Junction again, we will return.

Extremely slow service, so much so we felt forgotten. About 10 minutes from when we were seated until a waitress took our order. Very small salad with limited veggies. We finally went to the reception desk to ask for the bill. Final insult: 3.28% up...charge for using a credit card, not stated on menu.More

Visited Citrola's for the first and last time. Took our daughter there for her 37th birthday. Called ahead to see about reservations and unless your a party of 6 they don't take them which is acceptable. What is not acceptable is that we were left...standing in the seating are waiting for a table. I spoke to twodifferent people about a seat and the first young lady said let me look for a palace for 4 adults and one child with a high chair and she left never to be seen again. The seating area continuee to fill with customers who just stood as we did waiting for a host/hostess to address them - never happenhed. A young couple came in and a wait person came to the waiting areda and sat them immedialtey - never checked ont hose who had been standing there at least 15 mins. She sat this young couple and disappeared. I had to find her and ask he about seating us and she said"we are short staffed tonight" and that was it. i returned to the waiting area and one party left, must have been tired of wiating . There were only two people wiating in the lobby and they were pickups for their dinner. One gentleman had been waiting at least 30 mins and the other at least 15 for takeout orders. We left. I will never visit there again and as a Grand JUnction native they will never be suggested to friends or visitors to this area. "Short staffed" your host/hostess is the first impression for a restaurant, don't have one, shame on you. Wait staff covering the door? Train them!!More

Good food. Problem was the billing. Citrolas has decided to add a SERVICE charge on all credit card sales. Our bill before tax was $160.00 and they added $6.53 service charge. Don’t throw a service charge in my face. Add 50 cents to each meal....Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would not go back for that reasonMore

Great service, lovely staff. Loved the cozy atmosphere and the music was perfect. No loud abnoxious tvs or music. The food was very good, the wine was excellent and the pasta was perfectly cooked. Was pleasantly surprised. A hidden gem.

My wife and I had a great dinner at Citrola's. The glazed Brussels sprouts appetizer was particularly excellent. The entrees were also very good, and the accompanying Chianti was very nice. Highly recommended.

Stopped here after a long day in the car. This restaurant was close to the hotel and I was craving pasta. I ordered a glass of white wine and when it arrived at the table, it was chilled! Sounds minor, but the number of times...in my travels I've been served lukewarm wine... The wine was great! I ordered a side salad and buffalo ravioli in a marsala sauce. The salad was crisp with some fresh veggies, it was very good. The ravioli, and the sauce was delicious. I usually can't finish my dinner, my husband usually eats the last 30% of my meal. He finished the ravioli. There was some sauce left in the bowl, staff tried to clear the table, he wouldn't let them take the bowl, but asked for additional bread to soak up the sauce, it was that good.More
