Wow! What a surprise and a delight!! From the moment we made the reservation, we knew we made the right decision. We were celebrating a 50th birthday and they started us with an intimate table and complimentary glasses of champagne. Our server, Jen, was AMAZING! She had great recommendations and was so very attentive and accommodating, and let us know up front to save room for dessert because it would be on the house.
We started with the roasted garlic appetizer…holy smokes…amazing. We shared the Riviera salad, such a beautiful balance of fresh greens, bright lemon vinaigrette and a little sweet from the candied piñon nuts. Then we shared the Beef Wellington. Wow! What an amazing blend of complimentary flavors. Everything on the plate had its own unique flavor that all complimented each other. We paired all 3 of these courses with the Ghost Pines Cabernet, and it was an excellent pairing throughout.
We finished with the Earl Grey Crème Brûlée. Such a unique and delicious flavor complexion with the bergamot and orange.
And the cherry on top was the vibe of this place. We saw the bartender, Tristan, making a drink for someone at the bar that caught our eye. Turned out to be an old school Sidecar but with Rye Whisky instead of cognac to curb the sweet. We decided to cap off our meal with one of the same and it was a great decision.
I’m a Denver native and you’d be hard pressed to find this level of service, food and atmosphere in Denver anymore. This may be a casual supper club in a quaint Colorado “mountain town” but it has everything you want in a fine dining experience without the snobbery…or the price.
We’re just visiting Glenwood for the weekend, but we will be back, and when we do, Riviera Scratch Kitchen will definitely be a part of the itinerary…automatic!!
Thank you Jen and Tristan for an amazing experience.

Great service, eclectic menu selections, cozy but active atmosphere were enhanced by mellow background solo guitar on this shoulder-season Thursday evening. Attentive waitstaff. Easy walking from river-split town, via wide pedestrian bridge. Hot springs pool nearby.

The Riviera Supper Club and Scratch Kitchen stands apart from any other Western Colorado restaurant in many wonderous ways. This is a fine dining establishment not by way of elegant aesthetic or unreasonably high price point, but simply as a byproduct of quality ingredients being prepared at such a high caliber of proficiency. The entire vibe and atmosphere matches this point, towing the line remarkably well between classy and unpretentious. Suit jackets and high heels dine comfortably next to tee-shirts and sneakers here.
This is as accessible and inclusive as high-end eating gets. Indeed the very nature of running a true one hundred percent scratch kitchen enhances this fact. Everything from the sausage to the pesto and ketchup is prepared fresh by the talented chef and his crew. This allows more adaptability for components to be shifted or altered to accommodate dietary restrictions. If members of your party are wary of "fancy-pants food," they can salivate over one of the best sandwiches they've ever eaten while you enjoy your five spiced duck confit. Inclusivity is the name of the game at The Riv, as they intrinsically know that the art of great food is meant to be shared with all who wish to celebrate it.
The front of house is run with a precision usually only reserved for Michelin adjacent establishments. Servers are always laser focused, exceedingly knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. Craft cocktails are competent, but the real star of the show here is the vino. There is quite simply no better wine program by the glass or bottle within a two hundred mile radius. The fact that The Riviera has maintained this level of consistency for so many years across all aspects of its dining experience is no short of otherworldly. It isn't just the best Restaurant in Glenwood Springs, it is one of the best places you will ever eat period. Long may it reign.

Least attentive service I’ve ever had. Took dear friends out for a celebratory dinner; sat on the patio, at 8:15.
The lack of effort in the “service,”resulted an evening of embarrassment for choosing this restaurant. Took 10 minutes for the arrival of water, and even longer to be greeted.
The cut of Prime Rib was fleshy, and served Medium, not medium rare; COLD mashed potatoes , and shriveled mushrooms. Stroganoff not impressive and sloppy. Hot tea took 12 minutes timed: “the tea kettle takes forever to boil.” Asked for a box and server responded: “I’ll bring you one when you’re ready.” Many, many moments passed, finally brought to the table, with no check. Dessert offering was done half way away from the table, until she slowly sauntered over.
No warmth: emphasis on lethargic attitude.
Left a $0 tip, and I am a server by trade. Mortifying to do so, but, there was zero excuse for the lack of grace, cold and lazy prepared food, and absolute terrible service. Hire a busser, please!

Horrible. We made reservation two months ago for my 21st birthday, got there 10 minutes early for 6pm reservation, so excited to try food. Sat down 6:15pm and got drinks by 6:25pm waited until 6:45pm with no food ordered, multiple people walked by seeing us sitting there. Walked out after waitress and manager (?) looked at us without a word and walked away. We got up and left, nobody tried to get us. Huge disappointment. But food might be great, I wouldn’t know.

This is in my top 3 best Beef Wellington I have ever had. We also ordered the salmon, cooked perfectly and the white wine sauce was so delicate and delicious. I worked on cruise boats for years and had many wellingtons, this was so delicious, very creative but classic at the same time. Chef Dillion and Chef Brian are really raising the bar over there. The pastry was cooked perfectly thin and crispy the beef was cooked exceptionally. The pairing of the pickled veggies just amazing. Sabrina was knowledgeable and accommodating was a fantastic evening. We will definitely be back sooner than later!

We went to Glenwood Springs to celebrate our anniversary and one of the restaurants on our list was Riviera Scratch Kitchen. We went in at about 7:10pm and were told that without a reservation it would be at least a 30min wait. They told us we could be seated at the bar if we didn't want to wait so we decided why not, we'll just sit at the bar. The server got our drink orders in quick and we wound up needing extra time with the menu because they were sold out of multiple things on the menu, including the prime rib I wanted to order. We decided to just order burgers figuring we'd be in and out in maybe an hour and could move on with the night.
Ha, no. We ordered around 7:15-7:20 and we didn't get our food, including the appetizer soup, until 8:30 (and they close at 9:00). Not only that, but a couple that walked in maybe 10min after we did, also with no reservation, was seated right away. I also noticed them telling customers who were walking in just after 8:30 that they'd check with the kitchen to make sure they could be seated. Which as someone who has also worked in food service, that's lame. If you're open until 9:00, you shouldn't be trying to turn people away a half hour before you close. Once we got the food it was tasty enough, but the overall vibe of this place came off as really pretentious and the service was not good enough to merit that - especially with the prices.
If I'm ever back in Glenwood Springs, I won't be going back to this place. If you do go, all I really have to say is make a reservation since they seem to push it so hard, and don't go super hungry because your food will take forever to get to you.

Hi PH2003! I’m sorry your visit wasn’t up to your expectations. We strive to make every experience nothing short of wonderful for our guests. I did want to clarify a couple of things. As far as the timeline goes, you placed your order at 7:38 PM and your tab was closed out at 8:56. We also aren’t open until 9. We seat from 4:30-8:30 as listed on our website. We also weren’t out of multiple things, we had sold through the items we make in limited quantity daily, the Prime Rib and Wellington, as noted on the menu. We highly recommend reservations, as is stated also on the website, so if you have your eye on one of the delicious items aforementioned, we can set it aside for you and guarantee a table for you. As for price, please note that we are priced well within the norm for the area, quality of ingredients, and cuisine.
We love what we do and the Riviera family and I treasure our guests and hold their happiness and satisfaction in the highest regard. Should you return to Glenwood, I would welcome the opportunity to show you how good we can be, please feel free to contact me anytime at travis@rivieraglenwood.com.
Thank you!
Travis

Service has so much to do with overall dining experience. When walked in the restaurant, we stood at the hostess stand awhile before we were greeted. There were two people behind the bar that could have easily said "welcome" and "someone will be right with you". Initially our server did well, later the restaurant got full and I think she was overwhelmed. She would come to the tables to either side of us but we sat at the end of the meal with empty wine and water glasses and had pushed our plates aside. A simple acknowledgement would have made all the difference.
As for the food... it sounded amazing but flavors were not well developed. My husband ordered the Beef Wellington, the beef was tough and flavorless, very disappointing. I had the mushroom soup which had very little mushroom flavor and the topping (I believe it was fried onion and maybe a balsamic drizzle) overwhelmed the soup. The duck wings appetizer was very tasty. The truffle fries were also good
The space and arrangement of the kitchen makes the place smell of oil when they use the fryer. Both my hair and clothing smelled of grease long after leaving the restaurant.
The ambiance is very nice.
Feeling welcomed into a restaurant and receiving good service is such a big part of the overall dining experience

We went here for dinner one night while visiting the hot springs. I had reservations and were we greeted and asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We said outside and then asked to sit at a table that was not bussed yet (as it was located on the quieter side of the patio). The person seating seemed very inconvenienced by our request and made it obvious. I told her we were in no rush and would wait for the table to be bussed, but she ignored me and angrily bussed it herself. Once we were seated, it took a little while for the waitress to greet us, but they seemed short staffed so that was fine. We ordered food (I had the duck and my boyfriend had a sandwich), and the food took 45 minutes to arrive! I am not sure what the delay was, but it did not seem this was just us who experienced it, all the tables around us waited as long. The waitress was very friendly and the food was great, but I will not go back based on the time it took for the food to be prepared.

Hi Garfieldluvr! I’m very glad to hear you enjoyed your duck and sandwich. We are a small kitchen and cook to order from scratch so it can take a minute duty the patio season. We hope to see you again.
Thank you!

We had the BBQ glazed salmon and the glaze was excellent, as well as the accompaniments. Reservations are definitely recommended, as this is a popular place with locals as well as travelers. Beware - there's a split plate charge ($3) for sharing, and we weren't told about it at the time we ordered.

My husband and I came in for our 10th anniversary on June 1st and Josie was our server. Everything was fantastic! We specifically chose this restaurant for the made to order beef wellington and Chef Dillon did not disappoint. The dish was cooked to perfection, our drinks were well balanced and Josie’s service was impeccable. The next time we are in Glenwood Springs we will make a return visit!

We found #1- rated Riviera Scratch Kitchen on Trip Advisor and we were able to make a reservation on the restaurant’s website. We are traveling with a large boxer dog and they accomdated us by seating us in their patio which was very pleasant. There was live music in the adjacent plaza and lots of energy from passers by. Jen was our server. She brought a water bowl for our boxer and was charming and efficient throughout our meal. She made menu suggestions that we ordered. Both the duck confit and the ahi tuna were visually beautiful and very tasty. We started with roast garlic with Gorgonzola cheese appetizer. We love garlic and we weren’t disappointed. It was delicious. The Riviera has a nice wine list and we ordered a bottle of an Oregon Pinot Noir. It also was a great selection. It was a lovely casual dining experience. The pace was unhurried and we savored the relaxation. Glenwood Springs is a beautiful small town right on the Colorado River. The area around Riviera was vibrant and genuine feeling. They did everything well, great atmosphere service and food. I highly recommend Riviera Scratch Kitchen.

This restaurant is amazing, we had driven 5-hours and wanted to find a place to eat, unwind and enjoy some food, we didn't really want to go to just any restaurant and sit down, so we chose to get on the waitlist and we did have to wait about 25 minutes as reservations are highly suggested, but it was definitely worth the wait. Our waitress Jen was awesome and the Chef/Owner was so kind. Thank you!

Thank you to all of the Riviera staff for being open on Thanksgiving! We had an amazing time with friends and family. The butternut squash soup was some of the best I've ever had! The turkey was excellent along with the plethora of sides. Our server told us how everything had been made in house from scratch and you could definitely tell. Shout out to Chef Brian for his excellent cherry and pumpkin pies (we had to try them both)! The service was fun and fantastic and the food was second to none!

Our second celebration at RSK was another 10. We were greeted so kindly by Sabrina and Kimber on our Anniversary. The thoughtful gestures of champagne and Travis / Chef stopping by the table delighted my wife and I.
The beef stroganoff dinner and Caesar salad was soo good. Brian prepared his scratch blueberry pie - it showed well.
We are so grateful for the atmosphere , the food and relationships we cherish here. We travel 2.5 hrs for dinner and it always outshines our expectations. Thank you especially to Sabrina - she is it only the best waitress but the best friend !!!
