Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Came here for tea one evening with my partner. I got the green rose latte and my partner got the divine spice chai latte. Our teas were delicious and very enjoyable. We've also eaten here before and their food is very good. Just a friendly...FYI that this place does get very busy. We arrived in the evening (after 7pm) and getting two teas took about 20 minutes. It makes sense since it's a popular spot, but if you're in a rush, just be mindful it might take a little longer than expected to get your order. The atmosphere is lovely (very friendly and welcoming).More

This location can be touch or go with crowds - if you hit it at the wrong time, you'll be adding ~50 minutes to your process from ordering to securing a seat to them actually bringing the food. Whenever I'm at this location I divide...and conquer with my friends so someone holds the seat while someone else stands in line and places the order. As you can read from my reviews, I'm a very honest and fair Yelper so in continuing with my theme, when Urth charges $17.45+tax for a one slice Avocado Toast w/poached egg, I expect it to be near perfect. Today mine arrived fresh looking but with a very small (like think qual size poached egg that was actually hard boiled. Sounds frivolous however again for the price, I'd expect better which includes a runny soft boiled/poached egg as the menu describes. The avocado mix itself on top of the toast was just avocado - featuring zero spices or flavors - not even salt or pepper. I do however love their boba blended drinks - especially the Green Tea Matcha with Oat Milk. They also feature some delicious fresh baked good - always recommend the almond croissant. Parking can be challenging as it's mostly street (meter or zoned) but be sure to read the signs so SaMo doesn't lure you in to the meter maid trap. It can get very touristy for some odd reason (perhaps it was featured on Selling Sunset or Kardashians once) which means the patrons don't always know or understand the flow.More

The food is average. Small portions but big prices. We bought two cups of soup, mac & cheese-$11 hardly filled and a mediterranean plate-$20 and it came to $72. Cup of soup hardly filled-- $11. Pastries went from $6--$9. I asked the staff and they...said the owner raised prices 3 times in last four months. For $72 I can take the family for a nice dinner at Tin Roof or elsewhere and get service with a smile a drink and really good food. Urth use to be good and affordable but NOT anymore.More

When you get your poached eggs (medium) super runny for the third time after sending them back, and the staff tells you that the chefs “are not experts at cooking poached eggs”, you don’t return. Too many better choices in Santa Monica to waste your...time here.More

This has to be the place for lunch in the city. The food is good and the place interesting. There is no much service to speak of. The line for a table is long;

It's kind of pricing, but tea and coffee taste very good, not like the other restaurants's tea and coffee taste light.

Good breakfast place. I ordered the Belgium waffle. When I got my order the waffle wasn't hot enough for me. I. sent it back and they were very pleasant to heat it up and then it was perfect. I also ordered a Chai tea which...could have been hotter but it was warm enough so I didn't have to send it back. Would definitely return to try other menu ktems.More

This small restaurant made a big impression upon me. Quality food and offered the best coffee during my stay in LA. Everything was delicious: from the pastries to lunch menu items to their variety of beverages (mainly the coffee). The honey vanilla latte was surprisingly...not as sweet as I expected it to be (which was a good thing as I don't like my morning coffee to be overly sweet). Note: parking is not the greatest. You may have to circle the block a couple of times in order to find a good park so you can enjoy this restaurant. Or, utilize take out and enjoy your food any place you'd like.More

Super crowded cafe. Service is slow due to the crowd. We had to wait for 10mts to bill and more than 30 mts to get our coffee and snacks. Overall a great place to explore tasty snacks. The pastry tasted great.

Delicious food. Great coffee. Tried a bunch of different items over 5 days. They were all amazing. Banana cream pie and Italian cappuccino were the best of the bunch.

I’ve had the pleasure of having breakfast at this Santa Monica location a few times so far and think it’s a good. Although it’s location on Main Street in Santa Monica, it’s relatively peaceful and quiet on the weekdays that I’ve been there. The sidewalk...patio is my seating spot of choice and I haven’t had any issues with getting two tables side by side for our group every time. Parking wasn’t bad either as we’ve always been able to park less than a block away, but these have been weekday mornings, so I’m sure prime lunch/dinner times and weekends would be more of a challenge. Urth Caffe is known for roasting their own heirloom coffees and offering fine teas, as well as offering health-conscious food, using sustainable organic ingredients from family farms. I’ve only had breakfast, however Urth Caffe also serves brunch, lunch and dinner— with vegan and gluten-free options too. I usually order the Smoked Salmon Plate, which comes with a toasted bagel of choice. It’s basically a lox & bagel that you build yourself from the provided ingredients on the plate. This is a must for lox & bagel lovers! The Avocado Toast is also delicious and comes with an option to add poached egg, heirloom tomatoes or pancetta. We got the regular one served on ancient grain bread and it did not disappoint at all. Next time I will add pancetta. We also ordered the Rustic Poached, which consist of 2 poached eggs over toast, topped with basil oil, chopped heirloom to tomatoes and onion, capers. This was simple - yet so fresh, light and tasty. We bought a Chocolate Hazelnut Sponge Cake to enjoy at home and I wish I had eaten it at there - so I could have gotten another one to take home! It was that good! So moist, not overly sweet, just delicious! This surprising was a chain and they have locations in various cities in Southern California, Las Vegas, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Dubai. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for healthier, yet equally tasty, eats.More

We visited several times and try also their tasty choices such as the burrito and the eggs with salmon. All freshly made. Suitable for brunch and lunch as well. Nice environment...too!
