Just up the ramp from the Santa Monica Pier, we happened on IVY as we were looking for a place for a business meet up and some afternoon coffee. The business meeting turned to some cocktails and then dinner as more associates arrived. 8 hours...later, I can recommend Ivy on the Shore as a great place to relax in a wonderful atmosphere. The eclectic style and decor lends itself to any kind of meal or drinks, The maitre'd was quite accommodating as we wandered in unsure of where we had ended up! And throughout the evening the service was excellent as we changed from coffee to drinks to dinner! Highly recommend to enjoy the best of Santa Monica.More

Booked here for 8:30om, however they had clearly overbooked as our table wasn't ready until around 45 minutes later after several prompts to the hostess and server..our table was quickly selected right near the front door almost amid the rest of the people waiting, of...which there were around another 20 or so. Very impersonal, rushed and squeezed in.. The food was pretty good, salmon and lobster but the overall experience versus expectation was sadly disappointing.More

We didn’t have a reservation but they found us a table without any fuss. Good gluten free options and they offered others that were not on the menu. The food was very tasty especially the lobster ravioli. We made another booking for when we are...next in SA at the end of March. We can definitely recommend.More

Friends have been long saying that the ivy has totally lost it, with mediocre food at absurdly high prices. Those comments are unfortunately generous— we went back tonight after having been disappointed about a year ago and amazingly, the food has gotten worse— a smaller...menu, poorly cooked and unimaginative dishes— But more expensive than even the other expensive restaurants in the ‘hood such as capo. If you’re a tourist, and looking for the worst food on ocean ave, and want to pay double what a mediocre restaurant would charge, you’d be hard pressed to find ivy’s equal.More

When we entered the first time, it was not a place on our list, we were just tired and hungry. This place made us come back to life. The atmosphere is so great, the service is excellent and the food is just amazing. As we...were staying in the nearby hotel, we came back to Ivy several times, and every time, both the food quality and the service were as good as the first time.
