Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A real show stopper and I am Italian skeptic if not on east coast. Pasta was al dente with a perfect amount of chew. Sauce was sweet, creamy and plenty of it. Meatballs were delicate and could be cut with spoon. Tiramisu was more soaked...then I am use to but had pronounce coffee flavor that I enjoyed. Prices were great for being in playa Del Mar or anyway to be honest. Had a drink, oysters, pasta and desert all for $90. My own perfect tasting menu. Would highly recommend.More

While staying in Marina Del Rey for a few nights we made reservations to come here for dinner… the menu looked amazing and the reviews are excellent, so it was an easy choice. Once there we loved the vibe and décor! Service was excellent too,...the Somm working was very helpful and got us a great bottle, which we really enjoyed. We tried a few things and enjoyed each of them. The Scallops Oreganata were incredible, with a crust on top and the butter to highlight their perfect cooking temp! The Raw Brussels Sprouts was incredible! The brussels were shredded and the grapes added a nice, slightly sweet compliment to the salad’s vinaigrette!! Each course was just as good and we stayed for entrées and dessert too. We’ll definitely return and we would highly recommend stopping in, but make reservations first, this place got absolutely packed!More

We really encourage to try this very cool place. Food, service, bar and atmosphere all fantastic. Menu is very thoughtfully considered. Obviously pasta is the main game (perfect lasagna). Make sure you make room for the pavlova for dessert!

Great food, selection of drinks and an excellent atmosphere. We enjoyed the dining but the drinks & service was slow. One of the pastas was way too salty and could not be finished but we have found this common in the USA everything else was...👌🏻More

My wife and I were in Marina Del Rey staying at the Ritz. This wonderful Italian Restaurant is only @ a mile from the hotel, if that. The food was authentic fresh and tasty. I had the Veal Chop and it was magnificent. The friends...we were with knew one of the owners, Pablo, He visited our table often to ensure we were happy and having a wonderful time. As a bonus we were lucky enough to share some rare bourbons together. What a wonderful time. I can't tell you the last time I closed a restaurant. lol The food, ambiance and service were top notch! What an unforgettable dinner/night!More

We had dinner in Scopa on a Monday and most of the tables were occupied. We shared some Appetizers, they were all really fresh and great. We can recommend: calamaris, meat balls and eggplant. As well we shared an Italian Salad. Again great food, really...delicious dressing. As a main course we decided us all for Pasta (Chorizo, Mussels and Pappardelle with Pork). The three of them were great. Perfect to the good food was the Californian red wine. We didn‘t tried any cocktails, but Scopa would had have a huge selection of Drinks and Cocktails.More

My teenage daughter wanted to visit here thanks to Food Network. The food was amazing! We went for brunch. The staff was great. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. Would highly recommend if you’re in the Venice area.

We got there early. We had trouble finding it because the SCOPA was not on the front. We walked from the Venice Canals. I traveled 2500 miles from home to try the crispy squash blossoms. I'm from the south. We fry everything. We had a...giant garden with many squash plants but we never once fried a blossom. I have a Sicilian friend who told me they stuffed them too. I was so excited to try. I was not disappointed. It's the most delicate crunch you can imagine. My husband covered it with the side sauce and he lost that crunch but he tells me the sauce was very good. We shared the Italian Cheese Board which my husband loved. The mild blue cheese with raisins was his favorite. We shared everything. We had the Bucatini which was delicious. My husband thinks they could have done more with the zucchini but I'm totally wowed by the awesome pesto. Yum. Sicilian Ice Cream Sandwich was our dessert choice. It was tasty. My husband said he liked the chocolate which we think is the Nutella.More

We enjoyed the family style. Our waitress was very knowledgeable on portion sizes, we had enough food for four of us and got to try a variety of dishes. Recommend the meatballs, Arancini and the rabbit ragu.

Came here as a family of three for Valentines Dinner. Had a reservation for 6pm on the patio. Great ambiance with heaters in a high ceiling tent. You can hear the traffic on Washington Blvd but it’s not too distracting. Service was great from start...to finish as expected for a high end place. Very friendly but not stuffy. Our waitress made great suggestions. We told her we wanted to eat family style and share. Started with a Negroni Bianco, Martini and a lemonade. Shared three appetizers that were all outstanding: Amberjack crudo ($17) Burrata and beets ($19) Rice ball ($20) Then split two pastas: Lasagna ($27) Pappardelle ($27) Main was the 24 oz. T-Bone at $70 was a splurge but incredible. Added in a great Sardinian wine and the desserts of gelato, panna cotta and zeppolle. Expensive coming in at just over $300 before tax and tip but worth it for the great experience, service and food. Valet parking is a must die to lack of street parking for $11 before tip.More

Modern Italian spot in Venice with dark, moody vibes. Street parking along Washington or in one of the residential neighborhoods. Credit cards accepted. Reservations accepted. Indoor and outdoor dining available. Gendered restaurants available in the back. There’s bar seating as well. It’s a good spot...for a date night or to have a nice meal with the fam. I came here per the recommendation of a former colleague, who called this restaurant his favorite in the West side. Definitely get the squid ink calamari. The ink adds an extra level of saltiness, but it’s not overbearing. The meat was soft in the inside and the batter was lightly crispy. The pastas we ordered were all on the smaller side, but the pastas’ textures were top-notch. The rigatoni was my favorite, with a red creamy sauce. The cavatelli had Italian sausage and my dad really liked it. The linguini with clams was garlicky and also very creamy. The lasagne is a very heavy option, and you’re likely to have leftovers for this particular dish.More

When you call to make a reservation in advance the voice message tells you to leave your information and your requested time and date. This is what I did, two days in advance to coming in. I called the day of to double check that...I had a reservation only to find out that I did not...and that there weren't any available reservations until much later in the evening. After a long and what I thought to be respectful conversation began the hostess admitted that they have been having a lot of voicemails and that they honestly just didn't go through all of them. 0 effort was made to really apologize in any way or recognize that maybe that isn't the best system for taking reservations. It was a MASSIVE bummer since it was my husbands 30th BIRTHDAY and a WEEKEND day so I wasn't able to find a comparable restaurant that wasn't booked. So I wore my nice ass dress and heels to eat dumplings from, they were great. But damn, how SCOPA handled the situation was pretty UNCOOL for an upscale restaurant. Can I suggest you change your reservation system? The hostess recommended other restaurants in town...thats what I got, recommendations to OTHER restaurants, thanks Google.More
