We shared the charcuterie. The four slices of bread were flavorless and dry. Sparse portions of thinly sliced meat and a tablespoon of mustard, four tiny gherkins somehow didn’t seem to live up to the cost, $28. You should have done better. Much better.
This is a great place for a casual, relaxing lunch. Order at the counter, next to the very cool pizza oven. Watch the man making pizzas while you wait. They bring your food to you when it’s ready. I had fish tacos, which were delicious....Three come in the order, but two were plenty for me. My husband had the Greek salad and was very pleased with it. Best of all were the spectacular gardens where you could choose your seat for lunch. They went on and on and on! I’ve posted pics of many of the seating areas, some for larger groups and some for small. The decor was rustic and wonderful! We enjoyed our lunch here very much and thoroughly enjoyed looking around the property. We’ll be back soon.More
The setup here is weird. There are no reservations, and you have to order and pay on the way inside. And get your own water, silverware, etc. And collect your own drink en route to picking your own table. But the food is fantastic. Everything...we had was great: my roasted garlic appetizer, salad and glass of local Cabernet Franc, and my husband’s delicious lemonade and sausage pizza. Get here early on a weekend to get a parking spot and table.More
We usually hit this place whenever we go to Carmel. Since Covid, one orders before you sit down and then find a table outdoors which are socially distanced. One does pick up drinks at the "bar" which is a kiosk near the door out to...the back patio area. Kinda weird in that sometimes the person taking your order is also the bartender. Reminds of that movie Meet the Parents when Ben Stillerr is attempting to leave at the airport and the check person at the counter is the same as the person checking your boarding pass. Oh well
I had the Caesar's Salad and my wife had the smash burger which came with a small garden salad. She shared the burger with me and I must admit the burger was really very tasty (you can get fries instead of a salad). I was disappointed in my Caesar salad. Can't put my finger on it but it lacked something. It was the first time I had it as usually we come for dinner and I order a main course. This time I wanted to eat a little lighter at lunch. Again, it for me just did not hit the mark.
Would I come back? Absolutely, but will have something else for lunch. Our dinners have never been a miss.
Oh yeah, I did order an Americano and thought they would bring it to the table versus the alcoholic beverage (wine that the others had) were given at their kiosk type bar. Nope, they forgot to remind me (they did have the copy of the order which they give you as you pick up your drinks). A little confusion on y part but I felt they should have said, "let me get you your americano before you leave"..... Oh well. Thus the service perhaps was a B grade versus an A grade this time.More
Found this place after looking for a pizza in the area. Nice atmosphere, people are very nice. We ordered 2 pizzas and got them pretty quickly. Pizzas were really tasty, we loved it. For the size of it, I do believe it was totally overpriced...- $45 for 2 medium size pizzas, but at least it was a good pizza.More
We ended up staying one night in the Carmel Valley, and ate here based on a recommendation from the Carmel Valley Lodge, where we stayed. Diner was excellent! We had a salad with mixed greens and a broiled pear drizzled with honey and Gorgonzola cheese....Honestly this is one of the best salads I remember having in some time. We also shared a BLT which was very tasty. I would definitely come back to this place again!More
