Thanks to great TA reviews, we visited Bushel and a Peck Cafe for lunch. The service was delightful and the fare was even better. It was so good, we returned the next day. (The food was slightly different from one day to the next so...consistency may be an issue.)
We were most impressed with the menu selections which were surprisingly sophisticated for small-town Arkansas. Don’t get me wrong, we love country-style southern fare, but there’s only so much fried fish/potatoes/okra/pickles/etc/etc/etc that one can eat.
The salads were tasty, the two I tried had an interesting mix of cold and grilled ingredients. The dressings seemed homemade and fresh. My companions had burgers with different toppings, (even sliced apples!), fantastic Philly cheese steak with what seemed to be a peppercorn aioli and a sort of chopped chicken sandwich...the blueberry cobbler was great.
From friendly and attentive service to really tasty food, the four of us agreed we were sad this place wasn’t closer to home. Highly recommended. Don’t miss it.More
We were from out of town and a local recommend Bushel & a Peck. Cute small town restaurant. We ate for lunch on the weekend. They have soup, salads, sandwiches & burgers. We loved the food. We’d absolutely recommend!
After having eaten at Bushel and a Peck 7 times I can say their food is consistently fresh and great tasting. Atmosphere is country cafe'..friendly with several separate rooms for diners choice. Will eat there again and always recommend them to people.
The service was fantastic. I got the philly cheesesteak and it was the best I've ever had. It is a house converted into a restaurant so seating in a motorized wheelchair is a little tricky. Pricing was a little on the high side.
My husband and I have had lunch twice in this homey, comfortable cafe. The decor includes different tables, chairs, antique items on shelves and walls, small house divided into several rooms for dining. Service is excellent, quick, cheerful. They have a good amount of business,...but a table was quickly had in a cozy room.
The Swiss mushroom burger is excellent, served with side of really good potato salad or veggie slaw. I had a generous and delicious green salad with grilled chicken, strawberries, feta. They do not have gluten free buns or bread, but I brought my own GF bun for the Swiss mushroom burger on our second visit. Messy and wonderful. I highly recommend this cafe, and a celiac can find several gluten free offerings.More
We drove up to Mountain View to visit the Caverns. We did a search the evening prior for local eateries. This place seemed a good possibility and proved to be worth a visit. The burgers were a good example of the all-American burger. Our kids...enjoyed the mac-n-cheese and we had the tomato-cucumber salad. The salad was good and fresh but a little sweet for our liking. Service was friendly. The place was clean and pleasant. No complaints.More
My husband and I just got in town to Mt. View and we’re hungry for lunch. We were interested to eat here so we stopped in to eat. First you are greeted by friendly faces and very charming decor! My husband ordered the turkey club...with homemade potato salad. I had the South west salad. My husband is a Rueben Expert and he said it was THE BEST he has ever eaten! My salad was absolutely outstanding and just filled me up enough without making me feel overly full. We turned down dessert but hope to come back in and get to try them! We will be back!!More
