We were recommended this delightful place by the manager of our hotel, which was just a couple of doors away. We were not disappointed! This place is a little piece of food heaven. The attention to detail, the fresh ingredients and the presentation were excellent. The prices are on the high side but they're competitive against other fine dining in the area and we found it excellent value. Not only is the food fabulous, so are the staff. When we arrived, it was early evening and no one was there. Nest gave us a really warm greeting and made us feel like they'd opened just for us. She answered all our curious questions about the menu and confidently told us how amazing the food is. We realised why she was so confident when the food arrived...delicious! Nest really is a credit to the restaurant. She gave us just the right amount of attention even when other customers arrived. Before we left, we booked a table for the following night, something we've never done anywhere before! Another amazing meal. We very highly recommend! Just one thing to remember when you go...you can't tip by card so please take some cash because uou will definitely want to tip. Thanks Nest and the whole team for two wonderful dining experiences!!

Fourth visit to this lovely bistro...and just a good as I remember it! This time, there were a number of 'specials' available. My wife chose a scallop dish for starters and I had the most delicious French onion soup. For mains it was a seafood chowder (also a special) and a venison dish. We enjoyed the dishes so much that we tried to book for the next night - unfortunately out of luck as they were fully booked. Moral of the story; plan ahead!

We recently stayed in Barmouth for a weekend with my Mother-in-law and her sister and chose Bistro Bermo for dinner on the Friday night. It was superb. There homemade sourdough bread was very tasty which was served whilst we were choosing. 3 of the group tried the Halibut which was a special that evening and I had the Fillet Steak. All dishes were cooked to perfection. Everyone had a dessert and I sampled the Welsh cheeses. We would definitely go back. The food was fantastic and the staff were also so friendly and welcoming. We were served by Nest and Orla.

Bistro Bermo is as always the most perfect place for an authentic intimate dining experience in Barmouth. The attention to detail and the freshness of the ingredients used in the daily specials and main menu throughout is inspiring and absolutely delicious. Their wine list and seasonal menus are chosen with thought and creativity. Not forgetting the most perfect hostess, whose genuine warmth and knowledge means you want to return again and again to sample the delights and atmosphere. Thank you for a wonderful evening, see you all soon.

We ate here twice during our week's stay in Barmouth and couldn't fault it. Across our two visits we had lobster, sea bass, monk fish and rack of lamb. All were excellent. All the staff we encountered were extremely helpful and informative about the dishes. We made our bookings by phone and were made very welcome on both occasions. The restaurant is small, seating 14, and has two sittings, so do book early if you decide to visit.

OK I'll start with the negatives. We were seated at the last remaining table which was literally in the doorway... Bit of a breeze coming through as owners insisted door had to remain open. I never took my coat off and that's the only reason it's 4* not 5 I'd read the menu on line and had already decided on the chicken and prawn main. Unfortunately that wasnt on the menu, bit disappointed and maybe this should be undated, but in the big scheme of things no biggy. The positives, a truly lovely little gem of a place, every table was taken (6.30pm) nice buzz to the place. The service was spot on, not rushed, nice and relaxed and staff were attentive & pleasant. No starters but we were bought bread a delicious olive oil dip with salty olives on the side. mains were lamb for hubby&monkfish for me washed down with a nice bottle of malbec. We cleared our plates, the lamb was tender and juicy with plenty of gravy (sorry can't call it sauce I'm a black county girl) The monkfish was perfectly cooked but the sauce it came with was to die for and the star of the dish. Hubby had the choc pudding which was beautifully presented and a nice side of ice-cream and strawberries with it, just coffee for me. The very talented chef (and owner) popped out to say hello which was a nice touch. I did say I was disappointed no chicken&prawn dish and he said I shouldve asked for it, I did but was told the menu was the menu. Think next time, and there will be a next time, I might request it at the time I book the table. Whilst we dined 3 people came to see if they could get a table (as we were by the door they asked us first 🙄) it was a firm no, fully booked. So if you want to try this lovely little restaurant I would recommend definitely booking in advance. You won't be disappointed even if you get the table by the door, we weren't.

We have been staying in Barmouth for the 4 days in June and based on reviews, menu etc we decided to book in advance for Friday evening. There is only one word for this amazing restaurant.... WOW !. Everything from the service (the lady who served us was lovely, very caring and attentive as was everyone in the restaurant), the food was out of this world and the best meal we've had in a very long time. All I can say is,if you're in Barmouth pre- book this restaurant well in advance and go. We will be back very soon x.

We have visited this restaurant 3 times. First 2 visits we really enjoyed but our last visit we didn't enjoy so much. Starters were ok but my husband and I both had cod loin for our main. It was cooked beautifully but there wasn't much taste to the whole meal the lobster bisque sauce that was served with it was so transparent on the plate....you could hardly see it!

Amazing food ! Everything was freshly made and presented well. The staff were very accommodating to my gluten and dairy allergies. They adapted dishes so that I could eat them. They even had gluten fee bread and dairy free butter !! I would definitely go back.

We wanted to visit Bistro Bermo when we visited Barmouth in August 2022 but it was fully booked so when we visited at Easter I made sure I had booked several weeks in advance and glad I had because they were fully booked and were turning customers away. The food and service was excellent. I had the hake which was delicious and my husband had the duck which he enjoyed. The owners are very friendly and make it an enjoyable evening out. Will definitely visit again!

An a amazingly beautiful meal this evening in the cutest of restaurants. Hubby had duck parfait followed by cod and I had King Prawn bruschetta followed by medallions of curried monkfish and we both finished with creme brulee 😍 all washed down with a beautiful Rose ❤️ great service, fabulous atmosphere and amazingly beautiful food. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and one we will definitely look to repeat on our next visit. Heads up though, I booked this in April 2022 😊 the restaurant, albeit small and quaint does offer a number of sittings. We ate at 6pm but someone did walk in and book a table for 8.45pm that evening. Highly recomended; don't miss out!!! 💕💕

Hats off to the team - Bistro Bermo is an absolute gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere is intimate without being crowded and the service was just right - our waitress catered to our every need without being intrusive. The food was out of this world - particularly the cod, the lobster Mac n Cheese and lamb dishes. Would absolutely recommend.

Having looked around Barmouth for a special place to enjoy a Birthday meal, we stumbled upon Bistro Bermo. As it was late they had stopped service, but kindly said they would carry on for us. All I can say is wow. The service was wonderful, the home made bread to start was lovely and then our mains came out. I can truly say that every mouthful was a treat on the tongue, the most amazing mixed grill I have ever had and my partners Fillet steak melted in her mouth. The portions were perfect and looked like art work in itself, the chef is truly talented. Overall what an amazing night with people that made our evening special. Nothing was too much trouble from taking our coats to tailoring our meals to suit our preferences. If you are near Barmouth go treat yourself to qualify service and food, and you wont be disappointed. We will be returning on our next trip here.

This was our third visit to this lovely little restaurant and each time it just gets better. Very similar to some fine dining restaurants we have been to but with more flavour and not overly priced.either. The chef clearly knows how to cook outstanding food and takes pride in every dish. The service is faultless, nothing too much trouble and a feeling that the staff actually enjoy making this a dining experience rather than just a meal out. We will certainly be booking our table again soon!

Booked at the last minute and clearly lucky to get a table. A small and quaint restaurant, we were greeted with a very friendly welcome. We ordered baked goats cheese and a bruschetta with avocado and salmon for starters followed by a beef wellington and a venison dish for mains. An amuse Boucher was offered; fresh homemade bread and a venison consume. All the dishes were excellent. Enough said - we have already booked to return in six days time.
