This restaurant is something special. The food was fresh and cooked too a very high standard. Good balance of fish/meat and vegetarian meals. The waitress were very friendly and high lighted dishes to try
Price also good, not cheap and not over the top.

Outstanding food. Beautifully presented and high quality . Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the Lamb but feel that a rack of lamb should be more than two cutlets. Asked for mint sauce but there was none available which was surprising . But highly recommend the restaurant for the amazing food

This is our second visit to The Bank, easy to use booking system (booking definitely recommended, limited service times & space) staff & service was friendly & welcoming. Menu is something different from the "norm" and both visits I have taken a "gamble" with my choice & have been whole heartedly wowed. Last night I chose the sea bass Asian stir fry with Thai green curry, highly recommend if on the menu when you get chance to go. Hubby had the steak & dauphinoise potato, steak was a lovely cut & cooked perfectly to his request. Highly recommend as somewhere different to in this favourite seaside town of ours & enjoy 🥰

Dull,Dull and very very overpriced and over rated.
Unfortunately we were so disappointed with The Bank after seeing the ratings. We arrived to a very quiet restaurant which was surprising considering it was Friday night in the middle summer but all was revealed. The service was a little slow at first but nothing to complain about, the atmosphere and decor was dull, dull, dull ( you could hear a pin drop ) . We ordered olives to share, Salmon tagliatelle, sea bass for main and Eaton mess for dessert.
The olives were very nice but unfortunately the Salmon tagliatelle was very, very bland, the salmon and prawns were very over cooked and who on earth thought it was a good idea to put courgettes and cherry tomatoes in tagliatelle ?? The sauce was a bit like parsley sauce. I tried to salvage it with plenty of salt but still very bland.
My wife’s sea bass was very small dish with no presentation and for £33 you expect some bells and whistles !!
So the Eaton mess , o dear, two blobs of strawberry ice cream shop bought meringue whirls, one strawberry cut into four with strawberry coulis in a cereal bowl !!!
£8.50 ?
Total bill was £85 with a large glass of wine and one tonic water with lime.
Now I know why it was very quiet for a Friday night in the middle of summer.
Good luck with the future I for one will not be returning.

The Bank provided us with a simply perfect meal. Everything from the atmosphere - music was just the right volume, to the service - dilligent but not intrusive. The menu had just the right amount of options and the food was perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. Just the right portion sizes too. We had a wonderful Merlot with our meal and I would suggest that the selection of drinks available, like the menu, had just the right amount of options.
To sum up - Go, you will not be dissapointed.

Had evening meal at The Bank on Monday 12th August.
We had been advised to pre-book which we did and were glad we had as it was busy.
The staff were pleasant and efficient and the dining area was simply but smartly decorated.
We liked the menu choice, as there was enough variety for us without being over-whelmed with choice.
The food was well presented and we felt everything we had was of good quality.
Value for money we felt was good, paying a little over £90 for two starters, two mains, a shared dessert and a bottle of wine.
We would go back there again.

“Some of the best food I’ve had in a while“ said one of our party, which is a good reflection on our visit. The service was good, the decor lovely and the food the star. Complimentary bruschetta was fresh and served with a tasty olive oil. We shared the ham croquettes, which were freshly cooked and crisp not greasy. The mains were Romesco Crusted Cod and
Paprika Chicken Breast. Both were great, large portions, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. Desserts of custard tart with roasted rhubarb and Jamaica Ginger Cake finished the meal in style. The Bank did not have any draught beer, but the bottle of Purple Moose Ysgawen was served at a lovely temperature. My only criticism was the playlist, which was incongruous with the setting. I’d recommend a visit 👍

Beautiful food, attentive service but not intrusive, didn't feel rushed.
Whole menu was wonderful from the warm foccacia with good olive oil when we arrived to the wonderful treacle tart with clotted cream and raspberries to finish. Lots of little delights in between - pork and apricot terine, rack of lamb with lemon broccoli, spiced faggot and carrot puree. Delicious!
A real treat - would definitely recommend.

Went in for an evening meal to celebrate the end of September.
The atmosphere from when you walk in is welcoming, the two ladies front of house are both very friendly and immediately you feel comfortable.
The menu is fabulous, quite fish focused, but as it’s located in a well known fishing area, it’s to be expected and so the fish is fresh and well prepared.
The scollops looked great, I had a chowder, all were delicious and enjoyed.
The duet of beef is a must, there was sea bass (a special) and I had cod. The savoury crumble (as a side) is amazing, can definitely recommend it.
Finally, wines. A huge selection, we settled on the Viognier, two bottles in the end, yes it was that good 😊
This was our second visit and we shall definitely be going back again. It’s an excellent place to dine and you don’t feel pressured to hurry up or leave.

Went here for a meal with a friend 2 nights ago on the last day of our holiday. We'd had some nice meals on previous nights in other places but the meal here was fantastic, a bit pricier than pub food but well worth it. I had the salmon & prawn pasta dish and my friend the crusted cod, both meals were faultless and we were both too full for dessert. The restaurant is nicely decorated and had a pleasant relaxed atmosphere, the staff were friendly but not overly fussy, pretty perfect really!

Another excellent experience. Great service and food at reasonable prices. Not our first visit and certainly not our last. Very good range of dishes on the menu makes it difficult to choose. Settled for pork belly start and a perfectly cooked steak with coconut rice pudding to finish. Our favourite restaurant by some distance.

A great dinner from the get-go when two beautiful pillowy pieces of focaccia were brought with some top class olive oil to dip into. From then on it got better and better. We picked two mini starters of ham croquettes and REAL crispy seaweed- the lightest and crispiest ever- really top class with an aioli to go with it. My husband then had the pork tenderloin which he said was superb. He even ate the mini black pudding bonbons and he rarely touches black pudding. They were delicious. I had the warm ratatouille tartlet with roasted vegetables and delicious accompaniments. Everything was perfectly seasoned, presented and was so tasty. Excellent value and prompt service in a busy restaurant.

Right up there with most memorable meals (and we've had a few - but only a handful of memorable ones). Every mouthful delicious, and in our opinion portion sizes just right so we could sample three courses and feel pleasantly full, not stuffed. Particularly loved the halloumi and fig salad with walnuts and mint and honey dressing, the risotto with exquisitely cooked seared scallops and the cauliflower mussuman curry - my husband loves a mussuman curry but is very sceptical of anything without meat in it, so a hard man to please here, but he loved it. Really pleasant service and the courses seemed to come out at just the right time too. Worth every penny. Wish we lived nearby.

Great place, friendly staff. Easy to book online with fee of £5 per person to secure table. We were brought a complimentary piece of fresh bread with olive oil to dip which was nice. I had soup to start with a cheese scone which was a little on the small side but very tasty. For my main I had Risotto with scallop, king prawn and samphire with buttered greens which was one of the best Risottos I have ever had and was delicious. Would recommend to anyone.

A comfortable restaurant serving excellent food.
I had the duet of beef which, I think, could have only been improved if the steak suet pudding was a steak and kidney pudding.
Looking forward to my next visit.
