I sincerely wish I had read the reviews on Tripadvisor before my wife and I went to this restaurant. I, like many other people had looked at their menu online - what was on offer when we got there bore no resemblance to their online...menu. The restaurant was so cold I had to go back to the car to get a fleece for my wife to wear. We (stupidly as it turned out) expected some fresh seafood since the restaurant is only a few hundred yards from the harbour where fresh fish and shellfish is landed daily - we both had the same - our starters were described as prawn bisque - it tasted like tomato soup with cream added - with a degree of imagination there may have been a hint of prawn. The bread which accompanied this was miniscule and had clearly been cut from a loaf some hours earlier as it had a hard crust on the surface. Ah well we thought - the fish pie must be better but alas !! It clearly had just come out of the microwave - again cream was the dominant flavour !! We had a bottle of Pinot Grigio which although not the best was at least acceptable. I can't remember ever eating in a restaurant where the staff didn't enquire how the meal was - here they didn't bother - not surprising really. To add insult to injury the bill came to £74 - this was the worst value for money restaurant meal I have ever had - future patrons - BE WARNED !!More

Stayed in the FBI on a Saturday evening due to our ferry being cancelled (bad weather) and ate in the dining room as we didn't want to venture out on a wet and windy evening. We had 3 rooms in total and we all ate...in the restaurant. The food was excellent, fresh and well presented and reasonable priced. the staff could not have been more helpful - friendly and ensuring everything was to our liking. Even giving us a heads-up for accommodation the following night if the ferry did not sail. I would definitely stay and eat there again.More

Both hand sanitizer machines at the restaurant were not working and the staff didn’t seem to care. I had to hunt for one small bottle on the bar to use. Tables were also very close together. I was very concerned that if staff were not...bothered about proper hygiene measures for the public, then what was it like in the kitchen? The prices of most items on the menu in the restaurant were also higher than those quoted on the restaurant’s web site. In such COVID times, I did not stay to check out the food. Until the restaurant improves its demonstrable health standards, potential patrons should stay away.More

Tasty food, menu exactly as advertised on internet, seafood fresh and delicious, vegetarian beetroot burger home made and really good. Chips crispy and fresh. Fab, speedy service. Really enjoyed our visit.

I decided to try this place as it seemed nice I looked on there Website at the menu it looked good. Went to the restaurant and was let down as it was a different menu altogether with very little choice and was very expensive for...what you got. I chose the soup of the day it was OK I have had better. I chose fish and chips for the main. The fish was not fresh . I didn't bother with a pudding as nothing suitable Not even a apple pie. The restaurant was very run down needs a complete refurbishment. I cancelled my second night booking with them. I won't be going back there again.More

We had booked this quite some time before we actually arrived in Ullapool and when we got there it was quite busy. As we had arrived early we got a drink from the bar and sat outside. First impressions after having gotten the drinks were...not favourable. Basically it’s a rundown pub. Quaint, but rundown When the appointed time arrived we were seated in the main bar area in which there was quite a bit of footfall as the toilet entrances were located there. It was also quite cold as the entrance door nect to the bar was used by the customers outside to get their drinks with the door opening frequently. When we got the menu, 1st thing we were told is that they had no oysters or langoustines. Didn’t really bother me, but for a seafood pub in a port it didn’t really give us a good impression The food we ordered was OK but does not warrant the prices (£14 for a burger) they ask for! Unfortunately when we were looking to visit Ullapool, there seemed to be little choice where to eat within walking distance of our hotel On another note, the Gents toilets could do with a refurbMore

Booked in for this place months ago. Table was opposite the female toilets. Not ideal. Food was ok. Nothing special. But the staff were unbelievably rude, purposefully ignoring customers and not at all interested in providing a good dining experience. I wouldn’t recommend.

Booked this place 3 months earlier having looked at the menu online. On arrival we were given a menu that was different to the one currently being shown online. I asked for the seafood platter as shown online to be told they didn’t have it...I asked why not only to be told they had no seafood and that the local fishing boats had let him down. Really!!! It’s a seafood restarauntv. We asked for a bottle of wine to be told it only came by the glass. My wife ordered fish pie which she was not as good as Tesco.More

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. We booked this place a month earlier after viewing the menu online. We walked into the place and were seated in the bar not the restaurant and were directly in front of the men's toilet which stank! We ordered...a drink and when the waitress brought the drinks to us we asked if we could move tables as the smell from the toilet was dreadful. The waitress said she would check, she came back and said no we couldn't move as all the tables were booked, this was dispute two other tables being free in the close vicinity. Furthermore the menu offered beared little resemblance to the online version. I asked if people had reserved specific tables and she replied that they had. We decided that we couldn't eat food with the overwhelming smell of stale urine so asked for the bill for our drinks. She brought over the credit card reader, I suggested she give us a discount for the smell and she knocked 50% off the cost of the two drinks. We got up and left having had one mouthful of our drinks - no one seemed surprised or made any attempt to apologize, I suspect this happens all the time. It feels like they think they have a captive audience for one night and don't give a damn about any repeat custom. I also notice that they haven't responded to any bad reviews, probably because they don't give a damn.....More
