Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was a little confused when I went to this restaurant because the research I did saw that they were only served by marking. I called, listened to the voice of a lady who told me that if she wanted I could mark (which made me understand that I could have appeared without marking). I got to the restaurant on schedule and was the only person in the restaurant... which is usually not a good sign. I asked Mrs. if she was alone, she told me there was another couple coming. In fact there were only two tables: one for me, one for two people. But as the comments I saw all spoke well, I wasn't worried. The lady asked me what she wanted to eat, I asked her what she recommended. She told me that if she wanted patanisas with bean rice and as it was what I had seen in many photos and had an excellent look, I accepted the suggestion. He asked me if he wanted some bread, ham or cheese and said yes. A short time later he brought me a dish of homemade bread, cut ham and a small cheese... excellent. I asked to drink white green wine and had a big bottle just for me (not half I drank). The wine fell perfect with the meal. After 15 minutes/maximum came a rice malga (which gave at least for two people) and a plate with 8 pataniscas. It was divine. I ate very well, brought food for another meal. The meal was 20€, I left 25€. I have eaten in many good places, but I can say that it was one of the best gastronomic experiences I have ever had.

To begin with, there is wonderful homemade bread, some delicious hot fritters.
Main course Rojões Minho and bean rice with greens. Very tasty meat and the rice makes you want more.
The difficult part is the path. Congratulations to D. Juliana

It was a day of rain and intense fog.
I liked the environment, and the kindness of the restaurant owner.
We chose a grilled rice with pataniscas.
The rice was divine. Bitter grills, and very good patanishes.
I recommend!!!

On a rainy and foggy day, having a restaurant right next to the little house where we stayed was sensational. We arrived without a reservation and they served us homemade bread, warm from the oven, with a divine flavor. For dinner we chose a grilled steak and cod pataniscas with bean rice. I don't know if it's because I hadn't eaten pataniscas in a long time, but they were the best pataniscas I've ever eaten in my entire life and the bean rice was simply great.
The owner of the restaurant was lovely, very friendly. I'll be back to enjoy fried pataniscas and warm olive oil bread.

We went to this restaurant with our hiking tour guide (which I highly recommend doing by the way), but I digress.
We have no idea what he ordered - all of it traditional Portugese food from the area. The food was well prepared and the staff was extremely pleasant. If you happen to be in this remote area, I highly recommend you stop in for a meal - you won't be disappointed.
Unfortunately for this review, I cannot comment on the pricing, since our guide paid.

Ask for typical meat dishes and the home made bread. The place itself it's not very cosy, but the fireplace and the family who runs it more than compensates. Better to make a reservation. In the heart of Geres, mobile phones don't work there.
