Food was excellent. A good wine list and a large of lunch. Menus to select from. I ate on their enclosed patio if it was a tad too warm. but warm is better than cold. I will return.

We were visiting Prescott and several people recommended El Gato Azul. It's not the normal kind of restaurant we go to, but everything we tried was absolutely delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful in making our selections. We will definitely be stopping...in again the next time we're in the area.More
First advice: book a reservation by phone! They don’t take online reservations, but they do take them by phone—this will save you a 45-minute wait; this place gets really busy because the food is so good. Second advice: be adventurous. The menu has a lot...of small plates with interesting combinations of Mexican flavors and Spanish tapas recipes. Third advice: skip the escargot. It was the only thing we had of several dishes that was sub-par. Went here with local family and really enjoyed the food. Drinks were also good. Service was only ok but I attribute that to how busy this place is and the size limitations of their kitchen and serve staging area. The (single) bathroom was a bit baffling considering the number of tables, but they have a secret bathroom next door if the loo line gets too long.More
I live in Prescott and have been to El Gato Azul many times for lunch with friends. There are senior women in our community that I do monthly birthday lunch outings with. Today we had 11:am reservations for#11 of us. The weather was very cold...overnight and morning. When we entered the patio room it was extremly cold and our tables were in the far right corner next to the clear plastic "wall" that does not reach the ground with cold air coming in. Don't know what time the workers get in, but it would be helpful if the heating system is turned on a few minutes before opening! Service was good and our waitress was great!More
This spot is amazing Service was great. Get the salmon pizza Wine was also great - they need to expand to Southern California.
we were visiting our local friend and this is her favorite spot. The setting is really appealing with an outdoor patio next to a wide creek bed with trees overhead. We tried her favorite, the fried black bean cakes and they are wonderful. Fried goat...cheese balls are great too. Seems popular with it. Funky eclectic Pfeil.More
It was our first time in Prescott and we were starving with no idea where to go, and just happened to find El Gato Azul on a random google search. The food was great - had nachos, tacos and empanadas and all were delicious! The...staff was so kind and welcoming, both the host and our server. We happened to arrive just at happy hour and the staff was slammed, but didn't seem at all frazzled and were attentive. The restaurant itself is super cute, with homey, kitschy decor and a lovely patio right by a creek and pedestrian path for when the weather is warm. Highly recommend and will definitely go back next time we're in town!More
Pret-ty bad!! Nothing more than galorified bar food. Most things smothered in cheese and/or heavy sauces. My "Grilled Artichoke" was not grilled and hardly contained any (canned) artichoke hearts swimming in a dish of mostly sauted onions. This is, by far, the most overrated restaurant...I've ever visited. Think the hype is about the large outdoor patio. Can't find much else praiseworthy there. If you're looking for a meal of well-prepared food, skip this place!!More
Menu options are extensive! Lots of tapas as well as dinner items to choose from! Since its very rare to get paella these days, I selected paella Valencia as my entree & hubby had cilantro chicken penne pasta. Our friends had dined there before &...chose 4 different tapas. Everyone enjoyed their choices. Portions were plentiful, so hubby & I savored our leftovers @ home the following night. We will definitely return & choose from the tapas assortment next time!More
My husband, I and our friends Absolutely loved dining at El Gato Azure! At home we have a similar place, in Naperville Illinois, that happens to be our favorite go to for tapas and I have to say this was just as good, better portions...and great atmosphere! Keep up the amazing job and definitely keep Kelsey on! Just fantastic! ❤️More
We searched out this eatery as my friend's wife really liked the "look" of it from an earlier visit. We had just finished a Grand Canyon hike and as we headed back to Phoenix....took a side track. What a grand and fun experience. The food...was phenomenal....so tasty and delicious and unique combinations. The waitstaff was wonderfully attentive without pestering. We'll be back!! LOVED IT.More
Requires a reservation that isn't stated on website, The hostess acted as if she was doing you a favor in seating you. Flies everywhere, excuse was that's what happens when you eat on the patio, yet we were inside. We've eaten on patios before, and...other restaurants have ways of handling pests. The hostess asked how we enjoyed our meal we told not very well due to the flies and she gave us the excuse and rolled her eyes as if. The manager or owner was busy counting his receipts out in the open instead of in an office not paying much attention to what was going on. Never going again.More
What a wonderful, eclectic, charming place!!! Extremely cute atmosphere and ambiance and fun menu! The staff is fantastic and the service awesome! The menu is stocked with interesting food choices and our food was incredibly tasty! An absolutely charming place that we will be happy...to visit again when in town!!!!More
Found this place when my wife and I were thinking about retiring in Prescott. That was two years ago, and we are frequent visitors. Everything from small plates (tapas) to full dinners. FYI...not the same as traditional tapas from Spain. More of an American twist....Simply fabulous.More
Great food and downtown location. The biggest problem we have is ordering too many tapas at the beginning because the portions are very respectable. Order one less than you think you might want and I'd you are still hungry order another one or two. Love...the place.More
