Top home made pasta. Great place

The home made pasta was completely delicious. The service was friendly. They were very busy so there was quite a long wait, but everyone got served in order of arrival and the food was well worth the wait. Would definitely go again.

This restaurant is on the edge of Banos in a quiet area. The eating area itself is off the road a bit with a fish pond and the wood oven throwing out delicious scents. The food was delicious and the service was quick and friendly. The entres are just entres so if you want veggies or additions, you have to order them seperately. The prices are a little above the Ecuadorian restaurants but typical for the expat oriented places.

Great Italian when you are wanting a change from local food

This restaurant is close to the strip of hotels and a short walk from downtown. The restaurant was clean, quaint and the food was delicious. We sat outside on a little patio You can see them making homemade pasta inside. They have pizza, pastas and more. The restaurant is owned and run by an Italian. We had a great meal and would go back.

Bad service

I have never written a negative review for a restaurant before but felt as though the bad service I received here needed to be noted. I went for dinner here with my boyfriend, our starter which was bruschetta was delicious and for mains my boyfriend’s risotto was also very good but my carbonara was not what I expected. There was no cream sauce, just butter and bacon. Then we waited over 20 minutes before we decided to leave without ordering a dessert. During that time he had looked over many times to see us looking expectedly at him to take our order but he decided to sit down with his friends instead who were the only other people in the empty restaurant. We have both worked in restaurants for a number of years and we know if we behaved this way our guests would of complained and some may of asked for a full refund.

Good Food, Terrible Service

We had a personal pizza (very large and great value) and pork medallions (very large). Food was good. But it took forever to get to us, and the server was seemed absolutely uninterested, even as if she wished we weren't there. I don't know what we did to anger her, but she disappeared for long stretches, and eventually someone else had to bring us the check as she could not be found. It was weird, and it made for an unpleasant night.

Whenever we visited Baños we used to eat at Carpediem, now Al Fuoco, we had always had an excellent experience, unfortunately now it was different, it would seem that not only the name but the management changed. The service leaves a lot to be desired. The person who served us was wearing a nice outfit appropriate to the type of place, he constantly manipulated his hair and combed his hair at the counter, giving an image of little care. The food was not bad but the experience leaves a lot to be desired, they should take care of the presentation and way of serving the waiters.

Outrage yourself, one of the worst restaurant meals I've ever been to in Baños. Unbearable waitress, no desire to attend or help. Several plates of salmon fettuccine were ordered, (DISGUSTING). In the end after telling the waitress to pass the bill and that one of the salmon fettuccine dishes we did not eat because a little girl did not want to eat and when the dish arrived she said (smells horrible), the waitress called the owner of the place, arrived in Polaris with two policemen accusing that we did not want to pay and that if we did not like we did not have to eat. Disrespect and (waitress, owner and food) unpleasant. With that they not only damage the image of your disgusting restaurant but also lower tourism and affect that a place like bathrooms is a cute atmosphere.

We went to eat with the familia we order pasta and pizza . The food was crummy did not have any resemblances to Italian food very ordinary . Service was not good either . I talk to the owner and I told. Was the worst Italian food we had so far

Really Italian with very good quality

We wanted to eat less meat and came across Carpe Diem by chance. A good coincidence, the service was very friendly and attentive. The food is recommendable. We had focaccia, swordfish and pizza, all of which are recommendable. The price-performance ratio is very pleasing, we would be happy to come back and can definitely recommend Carpe Diem.

Spectacular AL FUEGO!

Everything was excellent, the food, the new place. It is not Carpe Diem anymore. They changed the name to AL FUOCO and moved right next door, in a larger and much nicer place. The pizzas are made in a wood-fired oven. Spectacular!

The food is very delicious and there is a lot of variety, everything is very fresh. We ordered an excellent pizza and the pasta was just right. The place has a very nice outside eating area. The only observation is the bathrooms. Excellent attention.

Excellent food. We came with my partner to eat at the recommendation of some friends but by the last 3 reviews we were not so sure, however the food was excellent, an excellent place and good care, then we realized that these people barely have 1 or 2 contributions maximum, which means that it was nothing more than a way to smear this place. That’s why we decided to open a Trip Advisor account to say otherwise. Don't get carried away with malicious people. Recommended! We will definitely return, because we are from Quito and always come to enjoy the activities in Baños.

The food at Carpe Diem is really good. The risotto and wood-fired pizzas were delicious. Very good service, nice place, perfect location and reasonable prices. A great place to go in Baños

Atmosphere and Food was Phenomenal

This was the most authentically italian pizza I've had in a really long time. The owner cooked our pizza personally. I got the vegetarian pizza and my girlfriend got the Chicken Bogovi. They were Delicious!! We ordered again later and the owner delivered the pizzas to our hotel... Awesome job and 5 stars. Keep up the great work guys!

Best italian in Baños

We were told this place is owned by an Italian, so we had to go. the salads were really good, we had pizza with bazilicum and black olives, which the waiter recommended us, which great, my brother had spaghetti which amazing as well. bottom line, we really recommend this place. buen provecho!
