Good level of European restaurant. An island of true Swiss experience

We came without expectations after receiving a recommendation from a hotel owner, a Swiss who is married to my local. We arrived without expectation and went out happy and very appreciated the experience the place produces. The meal with a variety of fresh products, the Swiss cuisine is quite evident and the atmosphere is relaxed and good

IMPECCABLE QUALITY OF THE MEAT - OTHER ASPECTS CAN IMPROVE

The quality of the beef tenderloin, “Ladrillo Café de Paris”, was formidable. Low hat to whoever the supplier of this restaurant is, All the garnishes can or rather should improve, precisely to match the level of the fantastic meat they serve. The breaded camembert starter was not up to par on this occasion, unlike a previous visit of mine. to this same restaurant. Another point of criticism is the tripling of bread during the service: welcome bread, croutons in the salad, apart from the toasted bread to accompany it. Too much bread... The service was very friendly, and the place was quite quiet.

Very fun fondue experience :-)

The Swiss Bistro was recommended by our hotel, En Casa de Luis. We had never had fondue before so we tried it and it was GREAT ! I’d discourage you from the house red wine. The bottles are cheaper than US and you can take your left overs with you. They had a full menu, not just fondue. The food and service was great!

Poor dinner!

With great expectations we visited that restaurant. But what we got as a dinner was rather poor. The Swiss Roesti plate was far of what a Roesti needs to be! It consisted of melted chees with sausages. Almost no potatoes. The portion was also far too small for a main course. No, this restaurant has not been a good try for us.

Very good Filet

The food was delicious. Usually I am no fan of eating meat (filet etc) abroad but the filet that we had was of very good quality and very good cooked (medium rare as ordered).

You can buy several varieties of cheese at checkout counter at this restaurant. Some are difficult to find in Ecuador, Gruyere, Camembert, Blue Cheese.

On the expensive side for this area but the food was excellent. We all ordered the steaks and they were cooked to order. Service was prompt and the setting was very nice. If the weather is nice you should eat on the roof area. Also if you like fondue, this is the place.

Group Dining Upstairs

Another centrally located restaurant where you can enjoy group dining on the second floor. The dining area is surrounded by lots of plants and you can’t even tell you are on top of a building. They have authentic park like decors, hammock and decorative plants. They also have a bar where they serve drinks and a lookout to the city. For our food, we had different choices; some ordered beef stroganoff, pasta, drinks, fresh juices and desserts. Considering the last time I was here, they did not handle a large group and our food as a group did not arrive on time, this time, they seemed more organized and we were able to eat together as the food arrived in a timely manner.
