We visited Repolho for the first time last night (but it won’t be our last as we have booked to go again next week) and had the most incredible meal. We began the evening by choosing a beautiful bottle of red from their extensive wine menu and beginning it in their outside courtyard. Once our reservation time came, we went into the restaurant to take our seats. We have eaten in this restaurant under previous owners, but we loved what they had done with the design of this place. It felt cosy and welcoming. We chose 4 dishes from the tapas menu, tuna, black pork, fois gratin and a local sausage and bread mash dish. As each plate arrived we quickly realised that this was a great choice of restaurant. Each dish became our favourite of the evening. They were incredible. At the end of the meal we chose a dessert. The crème brûlée was amazing and we had a glass of port (a beautiful tawny port) to end our evening. I am already mentally preparing for what I will choose from the menu next week. This is a fantastic addition to the village.

The host was very accommodating on a Saturday evening, when we turned up with two kids without having a reservation. The food is top notch, though vegetarians maybe disappointed- the options here are limited. Highly recommend the roasted chorizo and the cheese. We were impressed by the choice of wine and the very competent sommelier. You can also take your fav bottle home with you for a lower price.

João and Harry are the master hosts of this wine shop/gastro-bar that has exceptional Portuguese cuisine tapas-style with a massive selection of vinhos a copo and by the bottle, including aged ports of distinction. Great tunes, good vibes and great hospitality. You won’t be disappointed.

Having enjoyed many an evening in the eponymous wine/tapas bar in Lagos, we were delighted to find the Burgau branch. Passing through Burgau on a rainy Saturday afternoon at 3pm (it opens at 4pm, so the website and the note on the door says) we decided to watch the surfers for an hour and go for a glass of wine and tapas. Turned up at 4.20pm and were curtly told that they were closed for another half hour. Having waited around for opening we were not prepared to hang around again. It would have been so easy for them to have sat us down and given us a glass of wine. Instead, we were turned away and will not go back. It has really out us off and we live nearby so considerable custom has been lost.

Lovely restaurant with sheltered outside terrace. The food was delicious as was the wine. I was visiting from the UK; my family live here although had not visited this restaurant before. I recommend the cheese board which comes with various types of bread which was enough for four of us as a starter. We all had different main courses which were all cooked to perfection. The service was impressive and all of us would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Incredible service and the most amazing food. Our waiter Rylan was so attentive and explained every dish on the menu with great detail. Expansive wine list and elevated menu. Repolho is an underrated gem of Burgau ❤️

Lovely meal. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this place. Food was so fresh and full of flavour. We had the tuna tacos and calamari to start followed by tuna and sweet potatoes and the prawn rice. A good choice!

This is an excellent restaurant, the best tapas I hade had. The staff are friendly and informed about the wine and the wine regions and the food is excellent. I can heartily recommend this place
It is pricey but worth it if you are near Burgau.

We had dinner our last night in Burgao and the experience was excellent. The place is well-kept and very beautiful, the staff serves you quickly and with great kindness and the food is top notch, generous portions with reasonable prices and surprising flavours. Highly recommended

Excellent food and lovely friendly service
We at the prawn taco and tuna taco for starters, so fresh and absolutely delicious.
For our main course we ate fillet steak which was cooked to perfection. The steak was served with potatoes and vegetables. I had a Portuguese dessert which I sadly can’t remember the name of.never had anything like it, it was a joy for the taste buds.
All in all an excellent meal with great service and atmosphere.

An unexpected place, anyone who sees this space from the outside has no idea of the inside.
A very pleasant interior, a good wine cellar with wine dispenser, a calm and familiar atmosphere.
ideal for a dinner with friends or a snack and a drink of good wine.
Impeccable staff and always willing to make the customer experience the best possible. We went for a snack and a few drinks.

Visited Repolho. Welcomed by our host Joao. Lovely selection of tapas all beautifully cooked and presented. Joao helped us select a delicious crisp white wine from the Douro region which was perfect with our food. All in all a lovely experience. Thank you Joao. We will be back.

Holidaying in Burgau for 2 weeks and generally the food is of a very hign standard. But, delighted to have come across Repolho where the food is stunning, the service fantastic and the wine choice and guidance is super. This will be our third consecutive night and each experience has been wonderful. Beautiful room with a really relaxed vibe and charming staff. Cannot recommend hightly enough. No, we're not related to them!

We had 3 dinners here over the course of our 2 week stay. There’s a great range of foods to suit all appetites and all meals are to a high standard. The staff are so attentive and friendly and make dining experience very special. Very much recommended x

It was one of the best meals we've had on our trip! Amazing food, atmosphere, and service from Harry who could be a twin for Jack Whitehall the British comedian. I can't say enough about or experience there. Harry and everyone waiting there were so friendly and attentive it felt like an amazing meal at a friend's home. Do not miss this opportunity for a great experience, 10 star rating!!!!! Ask of Harry (Whitehall), he'll love it.
