We had a lunch and a dinner at this restaurant.
The lunch service was shocking - the waitress managed to get our very simple order wrong - 2 Beef Burgers and 2 Chicken Burgers became 4 Beef Burgers. The chips were cold and soggy. The dinner service was much better and the food was great. We found the Buffet prices to be very expensive. The setting is beautiful with Elephant stroling past along with some Warthog and a Kudu Doe.

Enjoyed a couple of meals on the terrace at Bakubung. Stunning outlook, beautiful trees and gardens. Menu is slightly limited apparently since Covid, I believe it could be expanded further now. Staff good but could be a little more attentive. We will return.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere overlooking a waterhole, with animals coming down to drink and beautiful, well maintained gardens.
Sadly staff came across as tired and literally just going through the motions.
Once our food was served, nobody came to ask how our food was, and they should have, as we were unfortunately disappointed.
The food was truly mediocre and disappointing. (I have had better food at cheap fast food places.)
The fish chewy and the batter undercooked (all soft and gooey next to the fish). The toasted ham and cheese really awful, as cheap processed cheese slices were used. The potato and sweet potato chips were great.
Food presentation - no effort at all.
We will definitely not be tempted to eat at the restaurant again and cannot recommend the food.
Drinks on the patio enjoyable though.

I am visiting the Bakubung Lodge several times a year since 1996.
During my last visit the service became absolutely pathetic!
Waitresses are unmotivated, ignorant, unfriendly, unable to serve the food that had been ordered and even very snotty/cocky.
First time since over 20 years that my tip was exactly ZERO!
Rather bring your own food and enjoy the otherwise beautiful surrounding of the Pilanesberg Nationalpark without any annoyance.

The next night we went back only to be disappointed again. I am shocked that a restaurant could warm up frozen box pizza and sell it. First time I ordered kingklip and had it crumbed without requesting crumbed kingklip. This place is a joke

Time Share guests can order take away meals but you have to order at the restaurant and collect yourself. We had burgers that were very tasty. I can recommend the burger both chichen and beef.

We arrived on a cold, wet night and was shown to a lovely table by the huge fireplace.
The service was great, everyons we met very friendly.
We all had the Kingklip and it was excellent!
Will defenitely return.

The entrance into the wonderful Bakabung is not so great but the food is superb and so much more game comparing to the rest of the park. Well done!

We opted for the Friday night buffet. At R350 per person this is a rip off. The head chef should be fired as he should be embarressed to put out such tasteless food. Yuck!!!
