Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I worked out in South Africa for a number of years and the natural world never ceased to amaze me over there. The Baobab tree is synonymous with Africa and this one doesn't disappoint, i was fortunate to be there the day after the tree had flowered which really was a once in a lifetime experience. The pancakes are sooooo good that one just never seemed enough.

I love this restaurant. I've been here several times when I'm in the area. Lovely staff and great, reasonably priced pancakes and yummy milk shakes. They have sweet and savoury and plenty of vegetarian options to keep me happy. I'd technically call them more crepes than pancakes but I guess that depends where you're from. Either way they're yummy! The view is breathtaking and it's off the beaten path so it's so quiet and lovely with chickens roaming around. It's a great yard for kids to play. There's a fantastic, massive baobab tree to walk around and a dead one which is fun to poke about in. I've been here with friends but I also like coming here by myself as it's so quiet and lovely to just sit and chill and look at the view.

The coffee was strong and the pancakes were light and fluffy. Service was a bit slow but the setting is lovely so it's worth a visit.

Food was excellent. Milkshakes were a hit. The Baobab tree was a lovely background. The fallen free just behind the restaurant was cool to walk around in.

It's the giant Baobab that attracted us here. It was a lunch stop and they serve good pancakes in a pleasant atmosphere. Well worth the stop.

We come here after outreach in local communities quite frequently and the food never fails to disappoint. You can get sweet or savoury and something to suit everyone. I mostly get the mushroom one and the home made chilli sauce there is delectable.

Great for what it is. A pancake restaurant, set in the middle of the fields with views of the mountain. Every time I have been it is peaceful, the staff is sweet and the pancakes (sweet & savory) are just good.

Situated next to two large Baobab trees, this semi al fresco restaurant serves pretty good crepes. Not what I was expecting in Africa but still good. Is a good stop if you wish to see Jessica Hippo which is down the road.

Yes we went too see a 2000 and 500 year Baobabs and honestly I was shocked and disappointed too see visitors arrive, park walk through the garden too the tree without stopping for even a cup of tea ☕️. This is a gem situated off the beaten track with amazing views, tranquil gardens and play area for children. Pancakes and Lemon Drizzle cake 🍰 was just delicious and so moorish . Service is sweet and quiet - I sense the girls are shy but they answered all our questions about the history of the trees . Lovely afternoon @ 15 mins outside Hoedspruit.

I always bring friends who travel with me to see the amazing Baobab tree at this restaurant. Each time I see new improvements to the restaurant. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable. Please be sure to purchase something at the restaurant and not just stop to see the tree.
