Had a great meal delivered by Street Eats. Rendang was delicious and fish and chips excellent Great delivery service at little cost. Liked that they rung to let us know it was on its way Will definitely use again

We ordered an array of dishes for a surprise Mother’s Day lunch. The food was absolutely fantastic, excellent portion sizes and the flavours in each dish were just on point! The Beef Rendang was especially tasty, it just melted in your mouth and not a single bite was left untouched. We ordered delivery due to lockdown restrictions and it arrived 15 mins early, which was great because we were all so hungry!! What a bonus 😄 not to mention the gorgeous delivery girl who gave us a big smile and wave. Thanks Street Food for making this Mother’s Day so special ❤️

Delicious food and really appreciated Takeaway after cooking for one for five weeks! Beef cheek rendang was lightly spicey, served with salad and naam bread. Entree of Amritsari fish fry also very tasty. Highly recommend both dishes and soooo nice not to have to cook. I’ll be back for more!

If you like your food to taste like it came from the ashes of hell then this is the place for you. Don’t let the look of this restaurant fool you. Tapas style food is a good idea when you can pull it off. This restaurant has a long way to go. $14 for 2 spring rolls, which tasted like they were cooked for so long the cabbage disintegrated and the wrapper sucked up all of the unchanged oil they were cremated in. The vege dumpling wrappers were burnt yet somehow still raw, don’t get me started on the filling and be grateful they come with some black vinegar to drown them in to make them taste like anything other than dried wet mushroom. If the Chipotle Fried Chicken was called “Fried Within an Inch of its Life Chicken Jerky”, then we’d have got what we asked for. The dish we most looked forward to was the Indian Fried Cauliflower, sadly, our hopes of something good coming from the kitchen came to no avail. With no chimichurri sauce in sight, we were thankful it came with some ‘from the bottle’ chipotle mayo to cover the taste of it. The coating was so sweet and blackened it tasted of burnt sugar and dirty deep fryer. Not once did any of the staff approach the table to ask if everything was alright, though they should have been asking ‘is anything alright?’. Upon leaving, we were still not asked if we enjoyed the food, which really just showed the staff already knew the food was horrific. It would be interesting to know where all these 5 star reviewers were actually dining because I wouldn’t for a second believe it was here. We want to say something nice about this experience, however, nothing comes to mind. We truly hope the restaurant takes this criticism and uses it constructively as we’re sure there is, with some hard work, potential for it to do well in the future.

Street Food Kitchen has a delightfully chilled out ambiance and really friendly, helpful staff. The food served is exactly what I expected for street food: quality, tasty, and filling with a touch of class that makes the dishes refined. I enjoyed the prawns, but especially recommend the mushroom and vegetable wontons! I only stopped in Timaru for lunch, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable meals of my holiday! I want to come back again to experience more street food!

We arrived at the Strret Food Kitchen having just partaken of a pre-prandial beer at Hector Black's, just around the corner (also highly recommended). The service at Street Food Kitchen was great, it was friendly, helpful and prompt. And the food was excellent. We had a range of dishes and would particularly recommend the pork bao buns and the red curry. But best of all the squid, cooked and flavoured to perfection. Loved this place, will definitely return.

Have been wanting to go there for a while now, finally made it for dinner with my wife. Great selection to choose from and all dishes were tasty and well presented not too much but wasn't hungry at all afterward. Great ambience in the eating area and great service. I didn't catch her name but our waitress was exceptional especially helping with cocktail selections. Thumbs up and we will be back

Night out with friends. Like the change of menu but definitely nothing low carb & low sugar for me apart from a tiny salad. The sweet & sour chicken was delicious! Service was a bit lacking tonight we all thought. Meals mucked up as young waitress didn't tell us what portions she had I.e. this is the kids meal size so some ladies got the wrong plates of food!

We came by for a late lunch as part of a road trip. There was quite a bit of street parking around the area and a parking lot nearby too. The restaurant is fairly large and does go back quite a bit into a larger dining area. We opted to eat by the bar with the taller tables and stools. The menu wasn't very big but did have quite interesting Asian inspired items on there. We grabbed the beef cheek rendang, pork belly bao and the loaded fried to share. The beef cheek rendagn was amazing. The beef was really tender and the gravy was really delicious. The coconut rice smelt and tasted of coconut and went really nicely with the curry. The bao was quite nice with the crispy pork belly. The fries were interesting as the chorizo was crisped up and scattered over the top. The fries were cooked nicely too. I did like dipping the fries in the rendang sauce. The prices were all quite good, under $20 and the dishes were quite tasty. I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the lunch choice.

With a good range of food it is easy to pick plates to suit different preferences. Also there is a per head price as an option. As there was only three of us we didn’t bother and the 5 dishes we chose were adequate. This worked out cheaper than the per head option. We ordered protein and salad dishes and didn’t bother with carbs. I think the test for this restaurant will be how often the menu changes. Didn’t try any desserts maybe next time Pleasant staff and good service

I ordered Street Eats for a Friday night cheat meal. It was made and delivered very fast! Only took about 20 minutes. The food in general was great. I got the bao buns and they were on point! My partner got the chicken burger & really enjoyed it but said it could have done with a bit more sauce but that's personal preference. The loaded fries were yummy with heaps of sauce but could have been cooked a bit longer because by the time we got them they weren't very crunchy. Over all very happy with service and food :)

The staff are friendly and the food is always exceptional. Quite pricey, but in my opinion it’s definitely worth it. If you have fussy husbands it’s also great if you and the girls wanna catch up and you can send the boys next door to the Speights Ale House for beers and pub food. Great restaurant 👌

Haven’t been here before but will certainly be back. The menu has entree size dishes and with an international theme to them. I often find that restaurants have interesting entrees and average mains but not here. I had beef cheek rendang which was very, very tasty. The bad buns, dumplings and sliders were also excellent. Good beer on tap. The wines are interestingly priced. Three 250 ml glasses of wine are cheaper (by$3) than the whole bottle - can’t work that out. The service staff were helpful and attentive. An enjoyable lunch

We found this great restaurant to be a really excellent experience, the food was lovely and very tasty, and very reasonably priced, the female waitress were great helpful and happy. Unfortunately we don’t live in the Timaru district but if we did this would be a regular occurrence for us. There was four adults the night we dined there.

Gorgeous food & location! Street Food Kitchen was recommended to me by a friend & I am so glad I tried it whilst in Timaru for work. Excellent, friendly service and the tofu bao buns & Szechuan prawns were outstanding! The perfect amount of crunchiness & spice on the prawns but not too oily either. I finished with the Japanese soufflé style cheesecake which was beautiful. I’d highly recommend this restaurant for a great meal to share with family and/or friends or on your own. So yum!
