5 years ago this was the place to come & eat in Orewa, but since it’s new owners took over we have noticed a big downturn in the quality of the produce, ordered a meat platter at $40 the flavor was good in the food...and generous with the portion size but the ribs were grisly & fatty (this place was once famous for its ribs) and the chicken bites were also grisly, definitely won’t be back until the food produce quality improvesMore

Went here for lunch recently,have been here before and it was great. I don't know what's happened since,but the service was slow,had to call waiter to take our orders,after waiting ages. Ordered a platter, which was of poor quality, dry, lots of fat with meat,...ribs chewy, we won't be going back here until things improve.More

But the beer is good...thought, give them another go. Munched my way...through a panko coated chicken burger which tasted overcooked crumb, strangely bland with odd texture. Waitress does the usual "how are your meals"...we reply with the usual smiles! But over half way through I clear off the mayonnaise to find I've been eating an overcooked on the outside, raw on the inside piece of chicken! Tim apoplectic! Just spent the last half hour losing it all. No 3rd chances for Coast, Orewa 🙁More

been here on three occasions for party and two times with friends, outlook to beach is beautiful, staff all excellent and food scrumptious and I will be back I am sure withing the next couple of weeks

Support local they say. Took my daughter to lunch and they had a $25 lunch menu which included food and a drink. However my inattention meant I didn't look properly at the other menus and we ordered the Chicken wraps and a hot chocolate. Two...SMALL wraps later, we shared, with a bit of chicken and some salad, one bowl of hot chocolate, came to $25! I advised the waiter (very friendly and helpful) that I felt there should be at lease 4 wraps on the plate or I should have ordered the steak or ribs and wine and then it would have been more value.T He agreed. The regular price is $17.50 which for what we got, is appalling. If you do get the lunch menu, get the steak or ribs as they looked great and a big plate full. Should have gone to to Dear Coasties , which was my original thought, as their food is super value for money, well presented and scrummy, and thats why they are always heaving.More

We had lunch at Coast bites and brews couples day ago, the service was awesome, the team look after us very well. Great view and great food! Would definitely come back again!

My wife and I had lunch at Coast on Wednesday and to stay we were dissappointed would be an under statement We have been on four previous occassions and could not fault the food, but platter we ordered was pathetic. There was the only a...tablespoon of humus, no tortillas which we eventually got after requesting them. The spicy chicken bites were well overcooked, had no taste and were to dry to eat. The spare ribs were over cooked and very dry which could not be eaten. There were only two small prawns and two small scollops. We advised the waitress of our dissappointment who agreed that the chicken was over cooked and she would advise the chef. We didnt hear back from the chef or the waitress. As mentioned we have been there several times before and had travelled 80km from home to give support to the restaurant after lockdown and the treatment from the staff and quality of food will mean we will never step foot into this restraunt again and will make sure as many people we know will also be told of the meal we got. Places like this do not deserve support to get up and running again.More
