Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The drinks came out quickly and the meals came out shortly afterwards but had to send a meal back as it had sweet chilli sauce on it but the next one came out with no sweet chilli sauce

Brilliant food, a few more salad options would be great but the food that we were served was perfection 🥰

I’ll start by saying the staff are great, really friendly. Location spectacular. But the food. Not so great. Wife had the slow cooked lamb shank with braised vegetables. It was not slow cooked, it was tough. The vegetables were frozen peas and carrots. It was...tasteless. Myself, the nachos off the bar menu. Not the greatest I’ve ever had. For mince beef it was surprisingly chewy? Overall the meal wasn’t up to expectations. Massive room for improvementMore

Meals and drink services were fine but inability to reserve a table for 10 was frustrating. Bit of a take it or leave it attitude. Hospitality needs to be more proactive when dealing with paying customers.

This restaurant used to be awesome for service, not so much any more. It seems the staff are more interested in hanging around in a bunch by the kitchen pass and chatting with each other rather than coming to check whether everything is ok with...the $29.00 burger.... Staff don't appear to be well initiated into the role of service.More

Worst meal I have ever paid for - I ordered chic burger , supposedly with radish , corn and jalapeños- I ordered it wrapped in lettuce instead of the bun - old soggy lettuce, the topping on the Thin chicken fillet was un recognisable flavour...wise and meat extremely dry . $29 - come on guys - please check the menu that your guests are ordering from and make sure it is what it states in your menu Husband had eye fillet steak - $48 !!!!!?- sorry this is our 2nd time here in 3 months and both times definitely not up to mark - last time the lamb was dripping blood and too tough to chew!!!!!More

My husband and I stopped at Powderkeg Restaurant and Bar for a lunch. We ordered Seasoned wedges with cheese, bacon, sour cream and chilli, and Teriyaki free range chicken, slaw and Japanese mayo burger. The food was so delicious. The flavours of the burger were...amazing. Highly recommend.More

After a very long wait our dinner was served. The fish dish was a palm size filet. $38 - outrageous! Two stars, as the ribs were much better value, but the long wait and the miniscule fish dish really spoilt the experience.

We had the restaurant almost to ourselves which was good and bad. Sad to see it so quiet at what should have been a busy time. Friendly service and great food

After incorrectly booking our accommodation at another location. We took the chance and booked with The Powderhorne, and what a great chance it was! After settling in we twent straight to the Powderkeg for a late dinner at 8:15. We were warmly greeted by the...staff into a warm cosy area where there were traveler’s and locals eating, drinking and having a good chat on a cool spring evening. Our dinner was amazing!!! Breakfast was part of our accommodation, a light Muesli and a big breakfast with the most delicious ‘homemade’ beans. If one thing they could do to improve is to package, jar or tin up the beans to sell to locals, guests and tourists!!! I would buy lots of them and make sure that others know as well. Definitely pop in for a drink and some food, any time and season. 5+ Stars!!More

The staff were lovely, the food not so good. Chicken wings were so dry we couldn't eat them, pizzas where average. The tuna entree and ribs were good. But not something we would rush back for. Definitely more a drinking hole than an eatery.
