This was a place recommended by our cab driver and it was worth waiting in a queue for our turn to eat here.
The food we ordered were Mutton Biryani(just 1 piece of Mutton per plate, in case you want more ask for it n it is chargeable), Veg Biryani ( was very tasty), Fish Masala ( a good dish with 4 pieces of fish), Dal makhani ( you can give it a miss) and Raita( too sweet). The dessert of phirni was good and with minimal sweet.
The service was good and the order was taken carefully and the food served with a smile. Our server Shoaib was a pleasant boy who was in a good mood despite the rush.

Arsalan is not new to the gastronomic scene in Kolkata, their food, especially their Biryani is one of the most sought after dishes, not just for the people of Kolkata, but also for people who visit that city.
I had visited their park circus outlet during the Ramadan season and wanted a take away, reaching there in the morning around 11am made me doubt if I'll be able to get my hands on their Biryani. Initially I was denied saying that their Biryani isn't ready and would take a while to get ready. I requested them to accomodate one portion for me as I had to catch a flight back home. The kind gentleman at the cashdesk not only accomodated my request for the Biryani, but also for 2 portions of starters. All in all the food was indeed top notch, the chicken in the biryani as well as the starters were succulent and cooked to perfection. Also, when one mentions about Kolkata style of Biryani, they cannot miss the ubiquitous aloo, which was perfectly cooked soaking up all the spices of the Biryani.
Was it worth the detour to this place on the way to the airport, well yes, not just for the food, but also for the kind people who made sure that i take back a good portion of their nature in the form of their delicious food with me back home and share it with my family.

We had an absolutely wonderful meal here. Our waiter, Manawar Hossain, was lovely and very kind in pointing out that we had probably ordered too much food - so hard not to do when everything looks and smells delicious!
The service was excellent, the naan was wonderful and the paneer butter masala and dal makhani were beyond delicious. 10/10 - would definitely eat again!

I packed some mutton biryani and mutton chaap from Arsalan after all the reviews here. I am extremely disappointed! The biryani was dry and mediocre, I prefer Rehmania's, even good old Bedwin does a better job! But was shocked to find what they packed in the name of mutton Chaap. The rib peices were completely absent, and in it's place was some sharp and minced pieces of bones in masala. They just served up the dregs of the previous day's chaap, I think! It was terrible not only in taste but the content was actually dangerous! I landed up with some serious gum injury and hurt my teeth unsuspectingly thinking it was a modern version of mince!
My suggestion..stay away! and Kolkatans your tastes in quality is declining if this is what you promote as "good" food.

I recently decided to order takeaway from this restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Firstly, I ordered their tandoori roti, hoping for an authentic and delicious accompaniment to my meal. However, to my dismay, the roti turned out to be disappointingly thick and heavy, resembling more of a naan rather than a light and crispy tandoori roti. This inconsistency in their preparation hindered my enjoyment of the meal.
Furthermore, I also opted for the mutton chap, only to be met with disappointment once again. The mutton chap was incredibly dry, lacking the succulence and tenderness that this dish should offer. It was clear that the food quality has significantly fallen and is now subpar compared to previous experiences.
Sadly, it seems that this restaurant is now banking more on the nostalgia factor rather than prioritizing the crucial aspect of food quality. While it is important to cherish and uphold tradition, it should not come at the expense of delivering enjoyable and flavorful meals. Regrettably, in this case, the nostalgia they rely on cannot compensate for the underwhelming experience of their food.
Considering the thick and naan-like tandoori roti, the dry mutton chap, and the general decline in food quality, I regrettably have to rate this restaurant with only 1 out of 5 stars. My hope is that they take these criticisms to heart and make the necessary improvements to restore their food's consistency and taste.

This restaurant is located near 7 point crossing in Park Circus area. It is quite spacious and clean. The staffs are friendly and attentive. There are two seating arrangements - ac and non ac. The ac. restaurant is on the first floor and the non ac is on the ground floor. They also have people to assist you in parking outside the restaurant. The food is tasty. We had ordered mutton biryani, chicken biryani, dal makhani, garlic naan and plain naan. Everything was tasty and up to the mark.

We visited Arsalan at Park Circus to end our Biryani craving and had an amazing experience. The food was truly remarkable and I was blown away by the taste as usual. The biryani was deliciously greasy, yet mouth-watering with perfect succulent mutton pieces that added the perfect flavor to the dish. I washed it down with a refreshing coke and ended it with a phirini which was simply delicious.
The service was also excellent and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Kolkata biryani. This place is truly legendary and I am looking forward to coming back soon!

Every time we visit Kolkata, we make it a point to have a biriyani meal at this restaurant. And we prefer to go to this joint in Park Circus. It is a bit crowded and sometimes one has to wait to get a table, but it is worth the wait. Their mutton biryani, Bengali style with a potato 🥔 and an egg 🥚 is too good. This time we tried their mutton pasinda which was delicious too.

So Arsalan Biriyani now has added Dalda to it. Earlier it was refined oil, only the meat was fried in Dalda.Now the entire biriyani you will find Dalda in abundance. The left over dalda stains in your plate will prove it. Happy bad Cholesterol increasing!

One of the best Biryanis I have ever had.
best is Mutton Biryani, good thing about this biryani is the alloo (potato) which they serve is quite unique from south indian biryanis.

This is one of the best place to have Biriyani in Kolkata. Except biriyani, other dishes were very average. This place is always crowded and parking is a big problem since they have very limited space.
