Flavours of South East Asian Cuisine at The Orient, a speciality restaurant by Neotia Hospiatality Group, under Ambuja Neotia. The Orient offers cuisine from all over South East Asia (15 Countries), from Hong Kong, Phillipines, Mongolia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, China, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Java, Bali, Burma, Cambodia, Laos and our own Kolkata cuisine Tangra. With a seating capacity of 64 people, The Orient is located on the Ground Floor at City Centre II New Town. The menu too has been worked out accordingly with an array of oriental fare like Appetizer, Dim Sums, Soups & Salads, One Pot Meals, Main Course, noodles, rice, Desserts and Oriental Teas (Jasmine Hearts, Osmanthus Lily, Lemongrass Green Tea and Vanila caramel clove cinnamon with Orange Peel). The menu too has been worked out accordingly with an array of oriental fares which are directly flown from various Cities of South East Asia. The weekend buffet (Lunch) will be typical Orient style with Appetizers, Dim sum

The Orient is a south-east Asaian cuisone restaurant located in City Centre 2, near by Kolkata Airport. Well located and good access.
The ambience is cozy. Menu items are well described with specifics. Mainly consits of Chinese, Thai & few Japanese dishes. Food served was hot and good. Staff are friendly.
We ordered Chicken Bao with Teriyaki sauce, Papaya Salad, Shredded chicken in garlic sauce and Chicken Pot belly with Teriyaki Sauce. Overall quality was Ok and satisfactory. Prices are a bit on the higher side but the menu options are aplenty.

If you're someone who looking for some hangout & chill mood then , it would be your perfect choice. All the foods are freshly cooked and also lovely staffs behaviors. All the staffs are sanitized and very friendly. Must visit place

'Chinese' the word itself, gives a Stomach tickling feel.
I do love Chinese and do look for place serving authentic Chinese. Happened to visit Orient for lunch last week.
The place offers a perfect ambience for fine dining.It has a Tibetans theme decor. The best part was the buffet, the flavours & taste was quite pleasing.
What I loveed most was Chicken Spinach Soup, Sliced Fish in Black Pepper, Egg Hakka noddles, Chicken in Black Bean Sauce.

Had the Buffet at the Table and let me tell you one of the very best dining experiences I have ever had. A very special occasion and get together was made that much better with the food made fresh just before serving. Highly recommended. Wait staff n management were great too.

We went there for the lunch buffet. The ambience, food, staff everything were quite good. I was soo satisfied and will recommend everyone to try this restaurant. It was a awesome experience. Best place to chill.

You favorite destination for Oriental cuisine - The Orient has launched Buffet on the Table to enjoy unlimited delightful array of dishes to satisfy your taste buds while sitting comfortably on your seats. 😍
The buffet comes with Salad, Soup, Appetizers, Main Course, Staples to Dessert everything under ₹579/- AI for Veg and ₹599/- AI for Non Veg on Monday to Friday. Also, Beverage starts at ₹79/-.
The buffet menu being absolutely perfect for a delicious meal, while their staffs being courteous and the service being amazing. One can choose Veg/ Non-Veg Buffet according to their ease. There are variety of dishes available on their A La Carte as well. 😍

Visited this restaurant with my friends to dig into some authentic Chinese food and had a great experience. The service was quite good and food was delicious as well.I really liked the chicken in black bean sauce and egg hakka noodles

📍The Orient is located at the ground floor of City Center 2 Mall, Newtown.
📍The interior theme is based on the vibrant red colour. The sitting corners are seperated from each other with red curtains. A soothing touch throughout the ambience will definitely grab your attention. Also they have a bar counter at the entrance which serves refreshing drinks.
📍Their excellent table served buffet menu includes:
🍵Welcome Drinks- Green Tea as a welcome drinks.
🧆Starters- Here they offer: Chicken Spinach Clear Soup, Crispy Fried Noodles, Chicken Dumplings In Hoisin & Sliced Fish In Blackpepper. All the items are really delicious in taste.
🍱Main Course- In this part, they offer:
Egg Sichuan Hakka Noodles, Chicken In Black Bean Sauce, Egg Corn Rice & Pan Fried Sichuan Fish. Extremely flavourful.
🍨Dessert- Here we are offered- Darshan & Vanilla Ice Cream. A perfect sweet ending of the day.
📍Staffs' Behaviour- Staffs are very courteous & service was quite quick.

It was our 20th wedding anniversary, and we decided to try the lunch buffet (buffet on the table service) of this restaurant. We had booked a table in advance, we were promptly shown the table when we arrived. We opted for 4 non-veg buffets.
For entrees, the set menu was Crispy noodle veggie salad with chicken soup, chicken dumpling in chili hoisin sauce and sliced fish in black pepper sauce. The dishes were really tasty and very authentic Chinese. We were surprised with the crispy noodle salad and how tasty it was. The soup was very light, felt like a palate cleanser and I love those kind of soups. I loved the chicken dumpling and the fish entrée. Maybe the fish dish slightly more tasty, even though the fish was basa (and not bhetki), but the preparation was very very good! Full score to the chef so far!
For the mains, we got the pan fried sichuan fish (basa fish in semi-gravy style), sliced chicken in black bean sauce, veg fried rice and egg hakka noddles. I always like the egg Hakka noddles even when I order ala-carte, as that brings out the taste of the noodles best, without getting masked by other proteins. And the mains were a cracker as well. Honestly, we were absolutely full by the time the mains came in, and we thought we won't be able to have the mains, but seeing the mains, tasting them, we dug into it! The chicken in bean sauce was the best of the mains, soft, tender, succulent pieces with the perfect sauce which tasted good with both the fried rice and the noodles. The fish was no different - tasty, tangy, soft and yummy, melting in your mouth with every bite. Perfect cooking with perfect taste, just loved it.
Finally the dessert, darshan and vanilla ice cream with a twirl of chocolate on top of the vanilla scoop. Pretty standard affair that, tasted standard as well. By then, we were so full that we could have done without the dessert as well.
Couple of other great points about the restaurant - Though it was a table service buffet, as in the food was unlimited, brought straight from kitchen to the table, served by the wait staff, it never felt that the wait staff was trying to short change you with the food. In fact the service was always with a smile, small chitchat and banter. They obliged to our numerous requests of pictures with the food with a smile. We also loved the décor, ambience, the proactiveness & thoughtfulness of the staff.
Definitely a small yet fabulous place, with great dinning experience. Would definitely keep visiting this place, whenever we are visiting India, Kolkata.
