We had a buffet dinner reservation for 21 guests this Jan. we were celebrating my fathers 60th Birthday! Inspite of it being a fixed menu buffet, Chef kishore was kind enough to address all our requests! Special mention for Mr. Suraj and Mr. kaushal who were our servers for the evening and did an impeccable job by continually being by our sides to give us the best service possible. U guys hardly made us feel that it was a buffet. 😜
Thanks team hyatt! U always deliver a notch above our expectations!
U will and have been a very important part of most of the memorable days in my life.

My sister and I were on a little staycation for a couple of days at Hyatt and during the pandemic, while it might seem super iffy to even dine out, the services at Waterside Cafe that's located within the premises of Hyatt itself was exceptional. I'd like to personally thank Arka, Mitish, and the entire team of Waterside Cafe for making our stay beyond pleasant. Will surely be revisiting! :)

The overall ambience is good.
Some of the staff whose names need to be mentioned are as follows:
1. Anupam Dutta ( Restaurant Manager);
2. Uttam Dey ( Chef );
3. Amit,Gargi,Souryadeep,Arka ( Restaurant staff / waiter / waitress).
All the above mentioned personnel were having a very friendly behavior as also helpful.
I would like to thank them all for making this visit to the cafe memorable and enjoyable.
Some of my observations on food :
1. Fish items / preparations were too good and the fish was very fresh. Should be rated 10 out of 10;
2. Chicken items / preparations were average. Moreover, the chicken was not fresh enough and seemed to be around 2-3 days under refrigerator. Not expected from Hyatt. I can only rate it at 5 out of 10;
3. Starters were simply brilliant and irresistible. I must rate it a 10 out of 10.
4. Desserts were also brilliant and irresistible. Worth mentioning are the Bengali Misti Doi ( Sweet Curd ) and Mud Pudding. A straight 10 out of 10.
I hope and wish to visit the restaurant once more and have the same experience.

Can't even describe in words about the dissapoinment of the food with the tariff haytt offering for water side Cafe buffet on 25th Dec, worst quality worst service worst behaviour would never recommend it's like killing your hunger and spoil the day I felt miserable while having the food worst the ever and it's not even worth comparing with road side stall food as they have taste at least this is rubbish.
Last but not least still Varun * was very nice and showed care to serve better rest are terrible. Never even thinking of hyatt Kolkata anymore after this experience

Beautiful restaurant but:
1. Useless spread
2. Foods were tasteless
3. Emplyees were totally disconnected from the customers
The restaurant gives out a very negative feelings.
I read many reviews of this restaurant and practically all said it was a fantastic place to have lunch or dinner. Yes, the place is architecturally fantastic, but that's all.
I have been practically to all the restaurants in Kolkata located in 3/4/5 star hotels, but never felt so bad as in having lunch in this restaurant.
And mind you, the price is comparable to other 4 star hotel restaurants in Kolkata.

We visited on 22nd Feb for Dinner. It was a birthday party and unfortunately turned to be a major disappointment. What shocked us most was the attitude of the staff. The waiters were busy gossiping rather than attending to the needs of the Customners.
For precautions due tO cOvid, we were not supposed to take the food ourselves and someone was supposed to be at the counters to serve food. However, most of the time no one was around to do that and we had to wait to get food served. On top of that, the attitude of the waiters was awful. They showed irritation if we made requests, as if the food we were having was free of cost. Simply appalling atmosphere it was! Thave visited Hyatt in other cities previously and had high hopes for this birthday dinner. I didn't realise that Hyatt in Kolkata wasn't up to world class standards. What a shame!

1. Food quality has deteriorated drastically.
2. Spread and variety of the main dishes are too poor both in spread and quality.
3. Value for money is absolutely missing.
4. Service at the table is subliminal as the number of attendants seem to have lessened.
5. The world class feeling at any Hyatt hotel that was an attraction for guest seem to have been compromised by the management.
Will think twice before visiting the property again in near future.

Had a wonderful Sunday dinner at Hyatt waterside cafe. Food was awesome deliciously prepared by the Grand chef Mr. Vishram Singh negi and his awesome team chef Sabir, Sujoy Das, Sujoy Pal, Solanki Chakraborti. Mr. Vishram Singh negi adds stars to the hospitality of Hyatt regency Kolkata. Will always recommend to visit and taste food and hospitality of Mr. Vishram Singh negi.

I booked a table for 5 for New Years day lunch,but when we arrived, the staff did not have my name on the reservations list and we were asked to wait along with many others. The place was full to the brim. I requested one of the staff on duty, Subhashis, to find us a table quickly since i had my elderly parents with me who could not wait long (it was nearly 3pm). Within a few minutes he put together a table for us and from there on it was fantastic.
It was a multi-cuisine service and of course the Indian food stood way above the others. Mutton Biryani was superb! There was a good selection of salads and starters. There was also a good variety of Continental, Arabic and southeast Asian food. The desserts had a mix of western and Bengali sweets. I only wish they had an option of fruits as well.
We wanted to avoid the crowds in the city , so this restaurant at the Hyatt Regency was a great choice as it was easy to reach by road. All in all a good experience to kick-start the year!

Because of the pandemic situation , we went out after a long time, and as such wanted to go to one of the best places in Kolkata . This was primarily to reduce risk of any possible infection, enjoy amidst a great ambience and have a sumptuous dinner. We had a great evening at the Waterside Cafe specially because of the extremely cordial staff and excellent service. The overall maintenance and ambience was superb. However, we thought that the buffet could have been better with more variety and better quality. However the deficiency in food was more than compensated by the quality of service and the ambience.

The ambience is very nice. A huge range of food. Starters included exotic dishes. We found the food to be pretty tasty. Main course included Biriyani and Mutton. Also there was a live counter for Pizza Pasta and all. There were many other counters but we did not have capacity left to intake. The service was very prompt and Mr Indra took good care of us. Icing on the cake was the desserts which were mouth watering to say the least.

The Buffet box is an amazing selection of items from the waterside menu. It's gives a full experience of the buffet while sitting comfortably in your home. The desserts in the box are to die. The staff is very courteous and helpful. I was talking to Soumani on a couple of occasions I ordered the box and she really took exceptional care and catered to specific instructions as well with a fine eye for details. Thank you Hyatt for the amazing experience. Hope to order soon again.

Saturday night dinner at the buffet counter, ambience was good.
However there was dearth of the food spread over there. Generally 5 star buffets have much more spread, a great number of starters, however over here one could hardly find them.
Taste was average.
Much better options are there over in Kolkata at this price range.

Dinner was fantastic food was amazing special thanks to Samrat Prem Jitendra Mitish and manager Abhishek who made our day a memorable one indeed. Usually I dont see such hospitality in other hotels. What a lovely day.

Had an amazing experience with the lavish spread. Usually buffets at 5 star restaurants have sub par food when it comes to the taste of individual dishes. But here most of the dishes were absolutely delicious. Also a special mention to Abhishek who helped us with our experience. Big thumbs up!!!
