To start with, La Cucina is the little Italy that Kolkatans can boast of. If you can't decide on what to order, their lamb stuffed pasta is a must try. While their cellar is a proud asset, their open kitchen is the envy of many; I am sure. If you're trying Italian for the very first time, feel free to approach Ms Suchismita Roychowdhury, the assistant manager of the fine dine restaurant, and she is more than happy to offer the best. The chocolate ice-cream is, however, the best that I, a dessertoholic, have ever had. Many more visits are due when my tastebuds seek Italian delicacies when I am in the city of joy.

Birthday Celebration

I went to La Cucina on my hubby's birthday celebration and was so much overwhelming with the charming behaviour of Suchismita Roy Chowdhury and her team. Also must thanks to the chef Mrityunjay who served such a splendid dishes for us. I later went there with my friends again in the end of December and again received a warm welcome from Suchismita and had delicious food and desserts. Among all the food must try the chicken/lamb stuffed pasta, chocolate ice cream and tiramisu.

Relaxed ambience, nicely lit, you can see your meal being prepared, simple but adequate and appropriate range / menu, and indeed the menu is very well executed - the food will bring you back for more. Exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff (thanks Anurag for the hospitality). The bakers basket before your meal is a winner...

Unprofessional,unpleasant,uncooperative restaurant staff

We were searching for an Italian restaurant to visit for a joint celebration..we searched Zomato & decided to visit La Cucina since they said it was open till 11pm. We reached at 10.40pm, only to be told by the person in charge,( think his name was saurabh)that they would be unable to serve us as the last order was at 10.45 pm. When we pointed out that it was not yet actually 10.45 & it was two special occasions we were celebrating ( a birthday & an anniversary)he rudely retorted that if we insisted we would be served only pizza & pasta We decided to leave,went to the new Italian place,Ottimo at the ITC Royal Bengal instead & had a very pleasant experience there

A Dinner Worth Remembering !

We had dinner here few days back. The servers here are just wonderful and have great suggestive skills. We had garlic king prawns and SALMONE SCOTTATO which was an absoulte hit. We sat on the window side city view table and enjoyed the view with our delicious wine and dinner. Saikat surprised us with a small chocolate cake with "Happy Birthday" written on it when we casually mentioned that it was my friends birthday! Thanks to her and and the team (chef DP, Arpo & Mrinmoy)

Quality time spent at La Cucina

Had a wonderful time at La Cucina with my friends. We had some amazing food accompanied by great cocktails, which provided a perfect setting for the get-together. The presentation of each food was intricate and tasted equally well. Looking forward to visit again and would recommend this place to others as well.

Our favourite Italian restaurant in Kolkata

Visited this restaurant after several months. Every time we visit this restaurant we get the same nice experience. Atmosphere in this restaurant is casual elegance and appropriate lighting. We had warm appetiser- wild mushrooms, and warm asparagus . We shared these two dishes and they were so authentic, just appropriately cooked and flavour of the ingredients fully intact. We also had ravioli and for the main prawns. We wanted to have calamari (it was part of the menu) but sadly it wasn’t available. We tried panacotta and tiramisu as dessert- very authentic. They have limited choices of wine by the glass. I tried Sauvignon Blanc from fratelli and it was quite good. Thanks to Abhishek and Rohini for kind and attentive service to make it a pleasant experience.

A splendid Italian meal

A very good Italian meal with attentive service which included discussing Rabindranath Tagore and Bob Dylan as two outspoken Nobel prizewinners for Litersture. Both from Kolkata except Bob Dylan. A lovely room and enjoyable food.

Excellent food and service

We had very good Italian food, in including fried polenta, pepperoni pizza, tenderloin steak, gnocchi, risotto and tiramisu. Probably the best Italian food I have had in India. Anushka was pleasant, informative and helpful. She waited patiently for us to finish even though it was late. Chef Souvik did a great job with giving the dishes and quality we wanted.

Excellent service

Going to la cucina now not for the food but for the hospitality of the staffs and the manager, anyday hospitality and smile faces of Mr rohit and Mr Saikat will make your dull day bright.very much knowledgeable about the cuisine and the dishes. Fabulous authentic Italian restaurant

Very pleasant experience

We had a very pleasant experience at La Cucina. We visited in a fairly large group of family. The food was scrumptious and the drinks were refreshing. The staffs were very friendly and recommended what suited us best. Overall a very nice and enjoyable experience.
