We enjoyed the lunch while we comfortably watching the elephant bath. Food was good with more authentic taste of local cuisine (of buffet lunch) but any non-local could enjoy too its spread.
Its a most suitably situated place to watch and to enjoy this drama...of big animals with various habits and behavior. Mahouts effort to keep the herd in one bunch is daunting and it is more of a dedicated work other than a salaried job. They do a wonderful job by bringing them safely across main road to keep animals watered two times a day.
So its a great place to be if you look for quite and pleasant experience.More
We were brought here by our guide for a spot of lunch and to watch the elephants. We were initially offered a tourist menu (pizza, burgers, chinese etc), but requested something a little more authentic Sri Lankan there was no alternative menu but we were...brought a real feast, great location to watch the elephants bathing in the riverMore
My girlfriend is a vegiterian who does not enjoy the local cuisine. It is very hard to find a place that can cater to those requirements. Though it was a bit pricey turns out their Vegi burger was the best she ever had.
I don't...know how their other food is but I definitely got extra points from my girlfriend :).
We stayed here for 3 nights recently in a King Room with Elephant Bathing view. It was amazing! The room was large, clean and extremely comfortable. The hotel facilities were excellent and staff were very helpful.
Popped in here for a cup of tea. Service was fast by a very smartly dressed waitor and the tea was good, never had food so cant comment but we drank our tea looking down at the elephants bathing below. Was really nice
They use plural for prawns that cost 15€ and they put only one prawn. Very deceived as they are not flexible at all with a table of 6 people that ordered food for the equivalent of 12 people.
It is a touristic restaurant therefore they...litterally rape your wallet. The entry to the restaurant costs 2500 roupies (15€) also to see depressed elephants.More
