We were staying in an apartment overlooking the hotel, which had a nice bright sign. My son became interested and asked if we could go there for dinner. So we decided to go, big mistake! Once we stepped in we were told to choose a...seat ourselves. No problem. We sat ther for 15 minutes watching a waiter adjusting the awning. Finally we were given menus and asked if we wanted to drink. 2 cokes and an iced tea, please. "Maybe we have no iced tea." Make it 3 cokes then and an ashtray. Okokok.... Different waiter arrives with 3 glasses, 2 cokes, no ashtray. I figured maybe they are making the tea and bringing the ashtray and taking our order....wrong! Sat there for another 20 minutes while I watched 1 waiter speaking to a probably owners friend, while the other was talking to himself cleaning glasses and glancing at us from time to time. As I am a polite person, I approached the waiter at the bar who instantly produced an ashtray without asking. .??? So he knew I had been waiting for it! Then I asked about the third drink and he said his brother only said 2 cokes. Ok please send another. I patiently waited for the "waiter" to take our order. The one speaking to the "important" people finally came and took our order. It came out in about 30 minutes, which I guess is acceptable eventhough there were only 3 tables aside of us. Unfortunatly, one of our meals was wrong and eventhough we tried to avoid discomfort by eating it, it was badly oversalted. Somehow I managed to get the attention of the head waiter, whom I haven't even seen all night to tell him about our misfortune, who rushed to the back yelling and screaming for all to hear. By the time two of us finished our meal(20mins), the rectified meal finally arrived. No benefit to our time spent together with my 11 year old twins, son and daughter, as we weren't able to eat together. I quietly vented my anger to the waiter while paying, but no discount was offered, instead I was forced to pay in my own currency at their own banks exchange rate. I was told I have no choice if I am paying by card. Once I recieved the reciept, it stated I have been offered the option of currency. So now I became upset, because this hideous service, lies and what some would say fraud. I called back the waiter and told him of my concern and he sped away to discuss with the head waiter. They rushed back together and told me they don't know how to reverse it, so they gave me back 10% in cash, which was less than the service charge they didn't deserve anyways, but at this point the other tables(who were all croatians) started to giggle. This is not the place to go if you are a foreigner.More
