My son picked up a magherita pizza at Saccones and it was terrible! It cost $26 and for that price he brought home a pizza that was dry with little sauce and a small amount of cheese. The fresh basil was sparse as well. Several...years ago we ordered wonderful pizzas from Saccones. Today, however, the pizza was overpriced and bland. I do not recommend going there. If you want a really good pizza go to Brooklyn Heights. There the pizza is worth every penny and won’t dissapoint.More
This is for the storefront on Hero. I called to place an order to have my husband pick up. I asked about the size of the antipasto salad and was told it was a small, individual salad so I ordered 2. I grabbed a menu...at the store that morning since the website directs you to their FB page but I wasn't sure if the menu there was accurate. The menu says to order online and I'm sure things would have been better if we could but there is no online ordering. The salads were huge and we're incredibly soggy. The salad dressing I asked for wasn't in the bags despite being reassured by the girl at the counter that they were in there. When the salads got home, there is a ton of water in the bottom of the pans and the lettuce and ingredients are just water logged. The pizza was just okay. Be aware that the fresh garlic on the pizza is potent!More
My wife and I ate at Saccone's Pizza and Subs a couple of weeks ago I have a Philly cheese steak and she had chicken piccata. The food was good. The restaurant was quiet (it was a late lunch). Generally good - but the person...taking our order seemed to be either a high school girl or maybe a college student and was more interested in her phone than our order. It might have been just a little more expensive than similar places - but reasonable enough for a 'date lunch',More
This is a low keyed Italian restaurant. They offer everything from lasagna to pizza slices. The chicken parmesan sandwich is messy to eat but that's because they include a lot of sauce. The lasagna serving is very large but they offer take out boxes and...it's good left over. They also offer pizza slices so everyone has a choice.More
My folks are from New Jersey, so I've spent a lot of time eating good pizza. And Saccone's is good pizza! We ate there just last night and had a delicious pie (pepperoni with extra cheese) and cannoli. Their cannoli is quite tasty and reasonably...priced. I think the pizza is well-priced, too, particularly considering how large it is. Make sure you get the signature sauce on your pizza. Saccone's really knows what they're doing. My parents always want to eat here when they visit. I've had the calzones, too, and they are also good. If you're looking for delicious, authentic pizza in Austin, look no further than Saccone's!More
I stopped at Saccone's for dinner the other night and ordered a chicken parmagiana sub. It was a little more expensive than other places I have visited, but the sub was delicious. The service is set up to order at the counter and they will...bring the food to your table. I loved the sub - the bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chicken was enveloped in a coating of cheese. The restaurant is casual but features marble top tables and has a few TV's in the corners of the dining room. I would like to return and try their pizza, which looked very good as well.More
Saccone's is an authentic Jersey Pizza shop In north Austin and is a pretty good place to try if you want something different than the typical franchise pizza. Opening hours are 11am to 9pm (M-TH) and 11-10pm (F-ST). They offer dine-in seating or you can...order delivery or take-away online at their website or by phone. I recently tried Saccone's during a short trip to Austin and much enjoyed their pizzas. We had classic cheese and a half pepperoni/half mushroom. Both were baked nicely, crust was done well, ingredients were fresh and slices tasted really nice. Pricier than your typical pizza chain, I found Saccone's to be bigger and better, something I'd be happy to have from time to time if I lived in the area.More
Maybe this isn't your "Travel 50 miles for Pizza" places. But it is one of those "Best kept secrets, locally owned restaurants " that isn't a chain, isn't pre-manufactured food. This is a great place for lunch or dinner, with Italian sandwiches, Calzones and fresh...Stromboli to compliment their pizza menu. Well-worth the visit.More
If you want a cheap crusty pizza this is not the place for you. IF you want a huge pizza with fresh ingredients and lots of choices this is it. I have only done take away here so can't really comment on eating in.
We wanted something easy as a take out option, so we picked this place! Menu has various items. I ordered a calzone and added pepperoni to it, and my fiance ordered the "ham, turkey, and cheese" sandwich. Both were very good, not a huge ricotta...fan so I could've done without that on my calzone but my fiancé loved his sandwich! A touch of Jersey, and definitely worth a try if you're wanting to try something new. Delivery was quicker than the expected time which is always a plus!More
Pizza like I used to throw in north Jersey some 50 years ago. Fresh made every time and an expanded dinner menu make Saccones the place to be for displaced Giant & Yankee fans.
Uniquely creative menu, excellent food preparation and nice presentation. The staff genuinely tries to satisfy.
Very tasty, and they have draft beer now, as well. Staff is friendly, and new location has had better karma than the old one did.
We ordered an 18" Pizza (rating 8), Meatball Sub (rating 9), 10 Hot Wings w/Celery & Ranch Dressing (rating 6.5) plus fountain drinks (rating 5). Very good. Love the pizza. The wings were hotter than expected, but we just pat them dry, then drowned them...in ranch sauce... Lol. The surprise was actually the Meatball Sub Sandwich. Very good, especially the bread. There were a few TVs and area very open dining area. We showed up on a Sunday night (approx. 7PM) and it was practically empty. We thought it might indicate what the food would taste like... But we took a risk and we're glad we did. It became packed about an hour later. Seemed like everyone enjoyed the football game on TV and their food. We sure did! We will return soon. Big HenryMore
