I enjoyed my visit to the Rough House . It didn't seem rough at all. Very friendly service. I ended up getting three dogs (I was hungry)
The only disappointment was the BBQ dog. The BBQ just didn't taste right. But the other hotdogs were fabulous! I had not been to Abbeville in quite a spell. And I just love the downtown area where this restaurant was located. I highly recommend this place as a very casual place to enjoy a good dog.

Great old restaurant, serving mostly hot dogs and ice cream. This place is just "ate up with atmosphere"! It's very old, the paint is peeling off of the walls (and has been for decades most likely, but it is clean and the food is good. If you are anywhere near Abbeville, drive a few extra miles and give the Rough House a try. It's right on the town square and there are several other interesting places on the square that might interest you.

The Rough House has been in existence since 1932. I think they have mastered the art of making good hotdogs. I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 dogs. The chili and slaw really added to the great taste.

Now open for in-house dining. Friendly staff. Great hot dogs and ice cream. Light remodeling preserves the original interior.

I’am not sure what type of meat the dogs were, but it was a small wiener...

The oldest restaurant in Abbeville (1932) never disappoints. The hot dogs have been the staple offering for nearly 90 years and remains the best I have ever tasted. Steamed buns with a plump steamed wiener, topped with the Rough House signature chilli, with your choice of mustard and onion? You can’t go wrong! Old style sodas (RC, Nehi, A&W Root Beer) and a bag of chips completes your main course but make sure you leave room for one (or more) of their sixteen flavours of ice cream. Beers are available for the more mature patrons. The Rough House is true nostalgia on the historic Court Square. An absolute must when visiting Abbeville.

Take a step back in time and enjoy an awesome hot dog or hand dipped ice cream cone. This place is not a fine dining experience but it is still neat and intriguing.

You can't go wrong with what you order at the Rough House. We had our dogs "all the way" which included mustard, chili, & onions and they were FANTASTIC. Throw in a cold PBR and you're all set. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious- what more could you ask for? We will definitely be back if ever in the Abbeville area again.

Had a late lunch at The Rough House and it was worth it. Met the owner and enjoyed talking with him. The hot dogs were great! Enjoyed the crowd that came in and hearing the interaction with everyone.

The Rough House is a terrific place to stop for a hot dog, ice cream, or beer during your visit to Abbeville's town square. The Side Pocket located in the back of the Rough House is a "hidden" bar for those who are looking to for a refreshing adult beverage in a unique location. If you love a good hot dog then the Rough House is calling your name. I'm not a huge hot dog fan (hence the "very good" rating), but my family raved about them while eating at the Rough House! I'm a fan of the atmosphere.
