Worth the trip

My husband and I made the trip ( well over an hour) after reading several articles about how good this bakery was. There was a sign by the road letting us know that we were in the right place. The bakery is small but packed full of delicious looking cakes, pies and bread. It was hard to narrow down what we wanted to try. There was also a wide variety of jams and relishes and assorted candy. In the end, we decided to get a chocolate peanut pie, some bread, and a jar of pickled okra. When we got home and tried the items we purchased, we agreed that we will definitely make the trip back, especially to get another chocolate peanut pie.

What's Not to Like!!!??

We always stop at Amish bakeries, no matter where we are -- this didn't disappoint. Has large variety of baked goods, canned items, pies, candy, etc.... Friendly staff; Love this place, and when next in the area, will be sure to stop in and buy more goodies!

Old fashioned mouth watering goodness

Every item was splendidly prepared and met every expectation for quality, old style bakery products. Strudel, cheese bread, buckeyes all perfect. Pimento cheese best I've ever tasted. Highly recommend for superb, homemade bakery products.

Absolutely delicious! We also purchased Apple strudel. Everything was so good and staff were very pleasant and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!

Doesn't get much better. Minnonite bakery with some of the best cakes and other baked goods on the planet. I find it very hard to drive past this place without stopping in.

Nicest people you'll meet and the best cakes you'll ever eat. My first time but most definitely not my last,I'll be back for another caramel pound cake and a few more desserts. Go by if you ever get a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Charming Bakery off the beaten path

The women operating this bakery are very nice. After living in Pennsylvania near the Lancaster area we were hungry for homemade goodies made by the Mennonite and Amish ladies. We had a sweet roll, coffee and a cake sample. Very tasty and we also purchased homemade pimento cheese spread to take home. Many items to choose from such as pies, cakes, sweet rolls, breads, jellies, homemade spreads etc.

Open Thursday through Saturday. Beautiful cakes and pies are available. The crab dip and pimento cheese are outstanding. I had the peanut butter cake. It was scrumptious. I brought caramel rolls home for breakfast. They were amazing.

Wonderful Bakery!

I found this bakery through Trip Advisor and we are so glad we did. We bought fresh baked bread, fresh cinnamon rolls, crab dip, pound cake, and a few other things. Everything was delicious. If you are in the area you must visit. Just follow the signs to the back of the home. They do accept credit/debit cards.

What a find!

We loved this bakery! Wonderful selection of homemade treats from cookies, pies, breads, cakes, and so much more. There are also several aisles of jams, jellies, and other pantry items. The ladies who run the bakery just couldn’t have been any nicer to our group of 53 that filled the place up! They were just terrific to all of us. This little gem sits off the beaten path, so make a special effort to get there. You’ll be so happy you did!

Swartzentruber's Bakery is wonderful! Homemade goodies that are very reasonably priced, and always fresh. I love that you can pre- order so you know if you want certain items you don't have to worry they will be sold out they will have it ready for you. They are conveniently located and easy to find too so that is always a plus.
