Usual Mexican Food

This place is packed on a Saturday night. The service was a little slow and there seemed to be confusion over whether or not our table was going to get chips with our salsa and queso. There's also a chance my husband ate some funky shrimp based on his performance having to get out of the car to throw up four times on the way back to WV the following day. Though I admit that I ate the same fajitas and did not get sick (the tequila-heavy margarita I was drinking might've given me an edge). Speaking of which, mango-pomegranate is a great flavor for a margarita.

Very Authentic Mexican food at a Great Price

I had the vegetarian option: Bean Burrito, Cheese Enchilada & Quesadilla. The food was very good. The Chips and Sauce was just right with the perfect blend of spices

Good food with nice variety

Hotel staff recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. The enchiladas were good. Great variety and decent prices with a full bar. Something for everyone.

They are a little slow-ish, but the food usually comes out hot and fresh. Just wish they were a little more attentive to customers needing a refill on drinks.

Excellent mexican food!!

My family and I were in Athens for one night. We looked for a Mexican restaurant as we are fond of this food. The dinner we had at Gran Ranchero was excellent! We had enchiladas, tacos and a fantastic grilled tilapia fish with salsa poblano. The food tasted great with the authentic Mexican food taste we look for (unlike many chains claiming to serve Mexican food). The staff was very nice and courteous. We definitely recommend this place!

A Superb Mexican Restaurant

My daughter and I stopped in for a quick snack. We had Nachos Supreme. Wow!! This was a huge and exceptionally delicious meal. Beef, chicken, guacamole, beans, cheese and chips. Great service. It is always a pleasure to dine here.

Not the same anymore

Met friends here for dinner and it was not the same as it use to be. Food portions were smaller and chips were stale. The chips looked to be from a bag from a store. We will not be going back.

We did not have to wait, but not many tables were available at 6:30pm. Service was very attentive. Good selection of menu options and 3 beers on tap. Combo plate is a great way to sample multiple menu items in one meal.

Typical of American Mexican establishments. The food is the same most everywhere, nothing bad, nothing memorable. Service is usually very good. Occasionally they have special beers, Victoria was pretty good. Very fast service, plenty of parking. I think there is a bar area. It is in the back and not visible. They may have a lunch special during the week. Speaking Spanish is a plus if you have questions.

We came on a very busy Friday night during Mom's weekend. There were probably 30 people waiting for a table and it was full. We were told ten to maybe twenty min wait for a table. It was an hour. 😠 The bar was too crowded to even try to get a drink. 😠 The servers were racing around getting orders and drinks and delivering food. When we were seated the service was very prompt and they remained attentive despite the crowd. I say well above average on service. 🤗 The food was the standard American Tex mex type of Mexican. Relatively bland taste without much heat. The enchilada sauce Tasted a bit like cinnamon. The quest and salsa were adequate. Really just Average. 😶 They do not have reservations or ability to text when a table is ready. If you go on a busy night be prepared to wait.

This is a good restaurant for fresh food with an accommodating chef. Two of the diners requested special ingredients and the chef had no difficulty accommodating them. This is good Mexican dining.

I went to lunch here and the meal was excellent! I ordered a he made shroom quesadilla and it hit the spot! I will definitely be going back for lunch and I hope to bring my family some time soon!

Typical run of the mill

There's not a lot to say aside from it's your typical mid-Ohio type of Mexican food. Not really spicy and fairly Americanized. While there was a large language barrier between us and the waiter, all of our food came out correct and hot. The lunch menu is a good value.
