The best Satay ever the restaurant is very simple but very friendly with excellent service The satay was simply the best. The meats were cooked perfectly, juicy and I love their peanut sauce. The Ketupat (rice cakes) were soft and light The value for money is incredible. A definite must if you are in Kota Kinabalu We went after we visited the Sunday Gaya street market It is very popular Don't be put off by queques as it moves quickly

Arrived here at 11am and had the mee soto and bakso soto, as well as the rojak. All three were pretty good. We then waited till 1220 pm for the satay stall to open, and the satay was delicious and worth queueing up for. The chicken satay was moist and tasty, and you should also try the beef and beef tripe. The lamb was nice, without the overpowering lamb taste. Do also pair the food with the local teas or coffees. The owner speaks Korean and Mandarin, and there are mNy tourists from Korea and China, all waiting to try the satay.

Yuit Cheong is a witness of local history. The oldest operating cafe in Kota Kinabalu, it remains the old world vibe of the last century. Toast with kaya is nice and hot. The boss is friendly and passionate about Sabah. Price is dirt cheap. It is quite an interesting experience.

Went during Raya last year. Wasn't THAT great and it was packed with tourist. The local coffee shop has become another tourist joint. Didn't have a chance to eat their satay as it was closed. Only had eggs and toast. There are other better places.

If you believed all the 4 or 5 stars review..b ready to get dissapointed.. Drinks are average, food are average, satay are average, the only thing that is not average here is price and the attitude of the shop owner.

Nobody informed or told us that this Satay shop is a small temp setup located right outside the coffeeshop. We waited from 1140am to 1230pm, just to wait for this stall to open. We ordered 15 sticks of chicken satay and 5 sticks of mutton. Alas, the shop owner simply forgot about our order and kept us waiting and waiting and waiting. If we didn't open our mouth to check and ask where is our order, we will simply be like FOOLS waiting there. He keep on serving other customers their satay, while we were being IGNORED. Lastly, the owner apologized and finally served us our food, but the damage is done. We even got a huge PARKING TICKET FINE because of this stall owner. NEVER COME BACK AGAIN if you like to KEEP ON WAITING AND WAITING AND to waste your time. Definitely a Miss as there are also other stalls selling the same food item. We only came because we heard that it is a century old coffeeshop, but we were simply left stunned by the bad service rendered.

In my opinion, if you want satay, this is THE place to be. We visited in 2018 and the manager/owner remembered us! It was as busy as ever but only needed to wait 5 minutes for our table below the lovely old photos of Jesselton was free.

May not come back for more as there are just too many persons / tourists queuing up for the Satay ( Skewed meat ) from their rented store.

It’s a place for tea break. Nice milk tea, toast bread and satay. If you want a full meal then this is not the ideal place. Also pls observe the operating time is for breakfast until after lunch hour only.

So I read the reviews here and had to try the satay and toast. There was a queue at the entrance but we got a seat pretty fast if we wanted to share a table with other guests. Ordered chocken satay (0.60 myr/each) and beef satay (0.70), toast (1.60?) and lime juice (2.50). I can honestly agree as a tourist from Sweden that the food here was good but it was average.. the chicken satay was good and cheap but dont really know what the hype is all about. The Kaya toast; for me this was like an ordinary toast you eat for breakfast, tasted like toast with a sweet kind of marmelade inside. The limejuice only tasted water.

We Ari ed at the end of Ramadan so we only had the opportunity to try the satay skewers but they were awesome :) I literally licked my fingers for the peanut sauce! We didn't try the intestine ones but the beef was soo good. At 0.80 a stick you can't go wrong, great for a snack! I just wish we could have tried the noodle soups.

I've been there several times with my sister, we had excellent and tasty beef & chicken satay and not forgotten their ketupat (rice dumpling), toast bread with kaya and planta that goes with a cup of Tea with milk (less sugar) for afternoon tea. Staffs and workers are friendly and easy to communicate. Ya most of the time tables are full. worth waiting!

Delicious scrumptious satay - beef, chicken, beef perut. Awesome simple toasted bread with kaya n planta. Didn’t get to try the mee soto as the stall was closing when we arrived. Like the rest of East Msia, this eatery really embraces the muhibah spirit - no segregation between ethnicities 👍🏻👍🏻

Must try when you’re here in KK. The satays was delicious and juicy and it goes well with a cup of ice teh tarik. If you want to try their Kaya toast you will need to come in the morning. I wanted to try when I went but they’ve sold out!
