Our guest of honor has several dietary restrictions. I called ahead to see what could be arranged. The owner, Donna, did not consider it an obligation to work around our guest but rather an opportunity to work with him to ensure he had a meal he would remember. Mission accomplished. Covid clean? Check out the picture. Chefs Krista Espinal and Ian O’Leary plating one of the highlights of the meal: duck breast with sweet potato, Lacinato kale, smoked eggplant “caviar”, lime leaf, candlenut & foie gras sauce with blackberry gastrique. One of our party who does not care for foie gras was given a crab based sauce. Sous vide duck was tender and juicy with crunchy crisp skin. We had heirloom tomatoes, soft shell crabs, Indonesian rice, foie gras, suckling pig, duck, venison, and dessert. Each dish was beautifully presented and perfectly seasoned. At first talking to servers in masks was awkward but the servers are so friendly and genuinely excited about the food and wine, the strangeness passed as Ed repeatedly offered 4 different kinds of bread still warm from the oven. John cheerfully offered another option when a menu item did not get smiles all around. My husband enjoyed chatting with the sommelier, Josh, about the wine pairings for each of several courses. Yono’s is definitely a place for special occasions but I left with a new appreciation for it as a place to make any occasion special. The 3 course menu will be just right for midweek date night.

Whether you wish to make a reservation for Yono's fine dining (with appropriate social distancing) or whether you wish to just walk in for a casual but excellent meal, Yono's has both. You are always welcomed by staff whether it is your first time, the first time in a year or two or maybe you were in last week. It is a warm place but excellent with the staff graduates from the CIA in Hyde Park or maybe the Culinary program at Schenectady CC. They are serious about they craft, polite and professional but not arrogant. the food is varied and fusion. Just wonderful. Asian, Indonesian, French, American. A vegans dream or a just anyone's idea of quality from the moment you walk in to the time you leave.

This is a gem of a dining experience that cannot be beat anywhere in the world. Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons is on an equal level. I am not kidding. When you walk through the double doors to the fine dining of Yono's, you have entered a level of culinary quality because the presentation of the food, the staff, the freshness of the food is unique. The photos to the left gives a view of the experience. The wine list of equal quality

My husband and I went to Yono's to celebrate my birthday (12/30) The attention we received from the staff was excellent. We shared the Vegetable Lumpia, presented nicely but underwhelming. I had the Pan Roasted Maple Leaf Duck Breast. This was the highlight. The duck was delicious, accompanied by two delicious dipping sauces that were gone way before I finished the duck. There should have been more. It was sauce, why skimp on sauce? My husband had the Striped Bass with risotto. Disappointing, and at $38 for the plate, that was frustrating. The risotto was mushy and cold, and the fish was bland. It's unfortunate, we had high hopes. Sadly, we were dissatisfied and will not be going back any time soon.

This review is solely for the bar area We were with a large party coming into town for the weekend. Our group trickled in for like an hour and I am sure was a slam on the bar. Brett the bartender kept pace. He had some helpers but he was basically on his own serving about 20-30 people. He was a knock out bartender. We had the 3 high tops pushed together as a gathering point but took up over 80% of the bar area. I am a fan of having a bartender who is great make up their own variations of my favorite drink a margarita. Brett crushed it! Brett first mixed a strawberry passion fruit, then raspberry and then the original. His drinks were a perfect balance and fantastic flavor. If we lived local I would not hesitate to hire him for private events. When it was closing time he recommended a bar across the street for us that is more of a local hangout which we thoroughly enjoyed too!

Indonesian Treasure! Food was absolutely amazing. Delighted by our favorite Indonesian dishes, prepared with optional delicate, flavorful and delicious sauces. We savored every morsel. Yonos adapted every dish to our sensitivities (wheat-free). Can you tell we adore Indonesian food? We asked the owner to join us and he was so darling, sharing his history. We were thrilled to find this within biking distance from our overnight docking at Albany Yacht Club. We would love to enjoy the food frequently if we lived here. Our waiter delighted us with superb service.

We booked a table for a family of 4 just because we were having drinks around Albany and wanted something other than 'bar food." Let me tell you, Yonos was the BEST decision. Our server Brett, everyone ask for him... was engaged, fun, knew the menu, answered every question, was patient. He made the experience that much better. We started with a round of drinks from their very extensive drinks menu. They had something for everyone. We had the freshest oysters for an appetizer followed by the coconut curry mussels. Both were just 5 stars. On to dinner, salmon, chicken, catch of the day, and steak special. There were no leftovers. The food spoke for itself. It was incredible. Dessert was spectacular. If you're thinking about visiting and haven't, gooo!! The prices are very reasonable, the service was amazing. We did sit outside but didn't mind because we can get a little overly excited. The tables were a little wobbly but again, it didn't take away from all the other amazing things that this place offered.

We walked into Yono’s 15 mins before the kitchen was closing, after seeing a concert in Albany. We both ordered burgers. I consider myself to be a serious burger connaisseur and believe me… I know a good burger. This burger was OUTSTANDING! I’ll probably dream about it for years to come! The food is excellent, the staff was friendly. I would definitely recommend!

This review is really addressed to those looking for Indonesian cuisine. Yono's is your standard upscale restaurant with 2 Indonesian dishes. My friends were very excited as they know I love Indonesian food and it is hard to find in the US, so they made reservations at Yono's. Parking was a nightmare on the weekend as other nearby venues had events, but we finally parked and got to the restaurant. We sat in the back which was much quieter. Service was excellent. I ordered the 2 Indonesian items on the menu. The Nasi Goreng was okay, but the beef Rendang was excellent. I would have like to have had more options, but was happy with what I got. They have a tasting menu and maybe they could try a Ristafel for it at some point in the future.

Cause it’s tripid vis we made a reservation at Wellington‘s thinking that would be the best in the area. It’s little more than a coffee shop next to the Renaissance even if the food is good the ambience was not what we were looking for. Came across Yono‘s by accident. I’m glad we did. Josh is an amazing host/server. Everyone working there couldn’t be more accommodating. The food was excellent with unconventional ways to serve some wonderful fair. Highly recommend.

Booked a table looking for a fine dining experience. Walked thru an entrance that said Yono over the door. Was surprised to see a pub scene. Claimed my reservation figuring I had somehow made a mistake only to learn at end of my meal that the Yono I was looking for was thru a back door in the pub. Receptionist never indicated that there was another restaurant. Yono’s loss as not likely I will return however the pub meal was nice. Waitress indicated this is a frequent occurrence. If Yono reads this, suggest they clarify things as they are losing business.

Wow, what a great night out; a "dining experience" that ticked all the right boxes. Yono's sets the tone as a customer-centric restaurant from the moment you enter and check in at DP Brasserie. The hostess graciously asked if she could take my coat and guided me to the fancier restaurant in the adjoining room. The waiter remembered from the reservation that it was a special occasion, a birthday, and treated us accordingly all evening. The entire night was infused with confident and poised proficiency without a hint of brash self-importance on the part of the staff. It's not a place that has read its own "clippings" and developed an inflated sense of itself; it just delivers. Moving on to the food- The masterful chef offers an appealing, varied, innovative and unique menu that is creative without being outlandish, off-putting or intimidating. The food was beautifully plated and it was expertly served. My family chose the standard prix-fixe and I splurged for the eight course tasing menu with a premier wine pairing. It was pricey, but worth every penny. Every course and accompanying wine were delicious on their own, but elevated to sublime when paired. While I know this is the point of “pairing”, not every wine pairing succeeds this well, at least not in my experience. In between courses we tried to show restraint and only nibble on the bread. We Could not stop ourselves from DEVOURING it. Seriously, it may be the BEST bread I have ever had ( anywhere !) and we feasted on both the rosemary- olive oil and the date nut. Kudos to the baker; you are a grand mater- your bread a tour de force. The final triumph was the service. The waiter, besides being professional, dexterous and knowledgeable was funny and personable. He had a dry comic wit that infused his banter without ever getting sardonic, edgy, cutting or cringey. Sadly, I believe he said he was moving to a warmer climate to pursue artistic endeavors.( who can blame him? ) I wish him luck, and hope that Yono's will find a deft replacement as it truly can enhance or detract from the entire dining experience. In sum, the evening was outstanding. It was the consummate "dining experience" to commemorate a special occasion. DIVINE.
