Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place with friendly staff. Service is fantastic along with the dishes served ; must try the coconut milk curry with noodles, a house speciality. I also enjoyed the crepe with coconut milk, it’s not too sweet.

Delicious, flavourful food with excellent service. The girls were super welcoming and our food was served with a smile 🙏 they had a vegan set menu for 66.000 IDR and wow you won’t be disappointed nor leave hungry. For two people we ordered a set menu each which had a curry, rice, side of veggies also a naan! Extremely cheap and very good portions!

It was lunchtime and we shared one of their coconut chicken noodle dishes between two of us, plus two drinks and we were so full we were unable to eat anything more. Mind you we are elderly with smaller appetites than as one. Very good value for such tasty food. We will be back to sample more of their dishes. Charming staff.

I eaten at this restaurant several times now mainly because of its location in Ubud- if I’m in that area this is where I go and here’s why: The food is tasty. They even go so far as prepare simple dishes for kids that are not on the menu (ie choice of rice or noodle with chicken and soy). However, the rotating menu is a pain. They don’t serve the same dishes everyday and I always have a difficult time ordering a main there.

What amazing food! Yes so many people say it’s great and we aren’t all wrong. The food here is really, really good.
No need for a menu just look at the blackboards and chat away to the staff who will describe all the dishes in lots of detail and they make good recommendations too.
It’s only a small restaurant with a few table, but try and get in for a meal.
Lovely staff and amazing food at very good value - give it a go and take in the Ubud vibe.

Huge fans of Melting Wok Ubud we made a reservation as usually it’s impossible to get in here. It was unprecedentedly quiet but the the food was amazing as per usual.
The best thing about Melting Wok is the short menus using seasonal produce.
For entree we shared the prawns (to die for batter and delicious accompaniment, and the naan bread with a coconut dipping sauce.
For mains we each had a chicken coconut curry and rice, which was fresh, herbaceous and with tasty spices and a plentiful serve.
We didn’t need the crepes and coconut pearls but went in for it anyway.
Very glad we walked home as our tummies were full to bursting.
In the words of my husband, this is one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.
Will be back before we leave! If I could eat here everyday I would.

This place is always a joy to visit. The food remains elegant, delicious and well presented; the cocktails are good value and a great complement to the meal. The ladies who run this place are a delight: helpful, obliging and ever friendly. No visit to Ubud can occur without at least one trip to this local institution.

Nothing whatsoever against the women up front, who are characteristically warm, kind, polite, personable Balinese women. And others of our group ordered differently and were happy.
But the mint-lime drink I had was pretty awful—like drinking dried and reconstituted grass. The chicken curry noodle dish my wife and I ordered was tired-tasting and disappointing: the fish balls were flavorless and rubbery, the noodles overcooked, to my wife’s taste. The pieces of chicken were numerous but flavorless.
I’m an enthusiastic and, uh, not overly discriminating eater — I mop up everything I’m served. Here I left juice and many chicken bits behind.
Does this mean I’m a fine diner now?

The service is perfect, very welcoming, all the dishes are explained by a waitress.
On the other hand, you can find much better food in Ubud for much less money. This is the worst food found in Ubud (4 day stay).
We had 4 starters, 4 main courses (including curry which is the house specialty) and 2 desserts.
With the exception of the naan and one dessert, the rest was by far not up to par.
The cold tea tasted like soap and the mojito didn't taste like a mojito.
In short, we really had the impression of paying too much for passable quality. Go on your way...

Good restaurant,
Be careful quite spicy
Basic dish but affordable (lots of rice on the plate, once removing the sauce from the “bowl” there is not much meat left…)
mojito not very good
Pleasant dessert
The waitress told us at coffee time that it was too late, she cleaned the machine without offering it to us, too bad.
Waitress speaks a little French and is very smiling

This place remains a delight, surviving the pandemic and continuing on. The Balinese meals are wonderfully fusion, importing a French influence on many items. I had the tarragon chicken with side of rice and Balinese pickles. It was delicious. Perhaps through the real surprise was the chicken, mushroom and garlic croquette entree; more crepe than croquette but a real success. I could have eaten many! Dessert too was magnificent: a crème caramel with coconut sauce.
If I have one gripe, it was the conduct of some of the other (Western) diners who thought nothing of lighting up cigarettes while others were eating: still permitted by law here but equally disrespectful. I think Melting Wok would do well to ban it, as it is in the smokers' home countries. That aside, a delightful evening under a new owner who warmly greeted us on our return--four years after our last visit! Well worth a visit.

Warung in the center of Ubud on an upper floor that will not disappoint you!
Several choices of dishes for all tastes: meat, fish, vegetarian - possibility of requesting spicy or not.
The waitresses are great, super smiley, and accommodating (we had reserved a table at 9 p.m. and they made people wait to hold the table for us).
Favorite: the crepe as a starter

Visited melting wok a couple times, the staff was top notch - extremely welcoming and kind, we left the restaurant with smiles in our faces each time. Definitely worth visiting!
The noodles we tried were very tasty and great! Also tried the famous curry, that was quite ok but definitely had much more tastier currys elsewhere in Ubud.

I've eaten here a few times. I think the coconut curry noodles are always delicious. This time I drank all the soup.
The fresh juice was bland and not tasty (maybe they use less fruit and add a lot of water?), so I gave it 4 stars.
The staff are cheerful and energetic, but I wish they would stop taking tips just because the change is small (lol).
But overall I liked it, so I plan to visit again when I'm in Ubud.

You will not find better quality food for this attractive price anywhere else in Ubud. Every day the chef has a different suggestion, and every time it was a hit! This business is centrally located in Ubud and is therefore easy to find. Not only the quality of the food is delicious, but also the service is absolutely top!
