Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Probably the best chicken burger I have had! Very fresh ingredients, amazing flavours and only $12 with fries. I highly recommend... you can thank me later.

My partner and I went here for lunch - and had an absolutely delicious meal! I had the chicken chop suey and he had chicken fried rice. The price was well worth it and both our meals were just delicious!! I would absolutely recommend this...place to everyone. The staff were very friendly and accommodating - location was lovely as it was right on the beach. Just YUMMO!More

After a very long hot walk into town and doing some shopping before heading back to the cruise ship, we found this lovely cafe tucked away in one of the back streets close to the port. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and they...make the best fruit smoothie.More

Living in lautoka since end of April moving down from the mainland i was looking for a nice quiet place to have a coffee and a bite to eat and the chilli tree does not disappoint. I would highly recommend the wraps, toasted sandwiches and...fish and chips. Also don't forget the coconut cream pie if you are a bit of a sweet tooth, its delicious. Always welcomed with a smile and they always remember my order when we come in. On a plus note it is great if you have small children, easy access with a pram which makes it ideal as i find this a major problem in lautoka. Couldn't fault them great food, great service and reasonably priced, couldn't ask for more :)More

We had one of the best fish and chips ever here. There was so much food we could have managed to share one meal. The sandwiches looked great too.

This place was mentioned in one of the tourist guides on Fiji and so we decided to give it a try. We came to Lautoka around noon and so we were looking for lunch. The café is at the end of a major shopping street,...in a really weird setting, on a corner of a street, opposite some kind of car mechanic shop. The décor is also very basic. I remember a few signs about chilly plants on the walls, a few chairs and tables, and that's it. There were only two ladies working at the café, one doing the sandwiches, the other in the kitchen. There was also a large group at the next table, so the service was quite slow. We ordered a few dishes and drinks. Ice coffee was a highlight, we simply had to order an extra one. Other drinks were just OK. Same for food - lasagna was kind of weird, but kids liked it. Fish and chips with cassava chips... The best dish was a chicken burger, which came with a fried egg and all sorts of unexpected garnishes, including marinated beetroot, pickled onions etc. Very unusual, but tasted really good. Overall, it's a good (if somewhat quaint) place to have lunch if you happen to be in Lautoka during the day.More

I wanted to convince the beautiful Tongan Lady who ons and manages this cafe that chillies grow on bushes rather than on trees, she was sensitive to the idea and took my modest $20' gave me $10 change and having had the best cup of...coffee to be found in Lautoka. The banana bread was delicious and watching the Fijian magic sandwich maker was real entertainer. I tried to encourage the barista to sing more often as his quiet tenor melodies were better than most piped music deliveries. So if you are a visitor you now inow where to go for coffee a sandwich and a pastry, go and leave revived, I did and to this day I carry the infectious smile of the Lady Boss.More

I went here and ordered an afogato (espresso shot poured over ice cream) and a slice of cake. I got the coffee after waiting 15 minutes and waited another 5 minutes for the cake slice to come, but it never did. So I just figured...the guy forgot. I read a bit of a local magazine and finished my afogato and went to pay. No cake had. I settled the bill and then the guy asked "So you don't want the cake?". I thought he forgot, but it seems he didn't. I'm there half an hour and that's when he asks me if I want the cake I ordered, as I'm leaving, instead of when I came in? No sense at all. This is the only time that I can recall this happening. Servers forgot things, but to ask me as I'm leaving if I want what I asked...? You couldn't make this up if you tried. Something for them to work on I suppose. Up to you if you want to go here, but I wouldn't go back.More

We stopped at this restaurant shortly after we landed in Fiji. The staff are amazing and the food was good although it wasn't Fijian but more standard American food. My friend ordered The Long Dark coffee and she said it was the strongest coffee she's...ever had and she loves her coffee. So if you want a strong coffee and a good meal this is the place you want.More
