This store is currently being extensively renovated. It was no great joy to visit before but fully expect the new store to be offering a greater range of clothes and probably souvenirs. It always had a great range of indian clothes, and some fijian style prints etc but was lacking sadly in western clothes. It is probably another 6 months before the new store is opened but it should be great then. There will also be a restaurant then too - apparently...

Recently we travelled to Fiji and during a bus tour we had the opportunity to visit this shop and we are so glad we did. It stocks all the usual touristy items but when it comes to Bula shirts they have a range that cannot be beat for price and sizes. Also their greatest services are that all their cultural wooden or organic items have been stamped as treated and certified for import to Australia and NZ, they also offer a worldwide delivery service. That's all great but there are not enough adjectives in the english language to describe the wonderful service you receive in these stores.

I bought blue bula shirt for 18 dollars. It was very good quality even though it didn't cost much money for me. I recommend buying the bula shirt for wearing.

We we warned about jacks stores when we arrived in Fiji by locals who pointed fingers at Indians,to expensive ,blah blah blah.. But we had two experiences when shopping in Fiji . Experience number one- We entered a jacks store, the building was cool the staff were clean , polite, well dressed and numerous.although at times quite annoying following you literally everywhere in the store, we browsed for ages and each store had something different that took our fancy, we spent far to much .but we are on holiday after all!!documentation was filled correctly and we left our jacks stores to eat in a handy cafe (in Nadi anyway) and enjoyed $6 heinekins and a real hamburgers.primo. Experience number 2. We were accousted off the street by a local Fijian guy waffling about 'real Fijian ' goods ,we exchanged banter and followed him a short distance to his store "village handy craft boutique and tours". We sat down had some kava etc. I made it very clear to him that we had no intention of purchasing anything. What transpired was sneaky beyond words. He would occupy one of us while getting info from the other, while his friend/son/whatever and cronies then busied themselves engraving our names on things in the store , it happened like lightning and before I knew it he had a pile of things on the bench and was trying to charge$380. My wife left to get cash and I fired up on the spot.. My son was there and was quite confused and two other men turned up for no real reason.and all of a sudden things got busy.. I bristled up and made it clear he was a lying deviant and refused to pay, as the extra muscle was handy I took into account my son ,wife and daughter.chucked $200 at him and bolted with his junk. I'm not done with this.not by long shot. So in conclusion Shop at jacks.. It is safe, professional, tidy . On the main roads.and the prices are cheaper on some goods than the hawkers!!!even though it's a commercial operation. The prices are fixed so there is no cat and mouse games,or stupid time consuming bantering .A wide range of products and a budget on goods to suit all people. The staff were a bit overbearing but that's there job.which is why I give four stars , not five. When they tell you to be careful for bandits on the street ,Pay attention because it's true !!!! If you have kids and want to avoid hassles, are not overly street smart like us. Go to jacks, get your things , have a feed, go back to your hotel.

Jacks seems to be the place that every tourist will visit brought along by the tours or taxi drivers in the area. I think it may be one of the only safe places for people to go. The store is not big but has a couple of floors and a great deal of souvenirs. Check what you can or cant bring back to Australia and New Zealand though.

Terrific for souvenirs and the lovely smelling Fiji skin care range. We bought miniature guitars, sarongs, moisturiser, candles.

While Jack's has nice products, the entire experience is ruined with their ridiculously pushy salespeople. As soon as you walk in, you will have a salesperson glued to you for the entire time you're in the shop. They will literally follow you around the entire shop within arm's reach and use every tactic they can to make a sale. They might seem friendly, but they're not your friend. Their seemingly innocent questions and small talk is just part of their sales strategy. The more information you give them (eg: "we're on our honeymoon"), the harder they will push (eg: "these black pearls are the perfect memento for your honeymoon"). As soon as you stop to look at something or pick something up (don't pick anything up!), you will get sucked into a big sales pitch on the product with no escape. Not only will you hear everything about the product you're looking at, but they will show you every possible product that might go along with it and how you can bundle it all together. At one point our salesperson had 7 different products laid out telling us how we should mount them on the wall together. Our salesperson just kept on going for a astonishing amount of time because I couldn't figure out how to stop him. Eventually we walked straight out of the shop because we couldn't handle it anymore. We ended up buying all of our souvenirs from a different shop just because the salesperson was so extreme. I thought I was used to pushy salespeople, but Jack's really takes it to the extreme. If you think the crafts markets in Sigatoka are overly pushy, go visit a Jack's.

I missed my connection back to LA so had to stay an extra night in Nadi. So, I spend part of they day a Jack's - apparently a well know island shop for souvenirs. It was a very fun experience once you get over that a sales person will walk around with you the entire time you are in the store. It isn't my preferred way of shopping, but I went with it. There is someone out front to open the taxi door and welcome you to Jack's. Music is playing and a sales person asks whether he can be of any help. He just stood around while I looked at the wood carvings. Since I was really interested in Bula shirts, he took me upstairs and showed me where they were an stood around while I tried to make decisions about patterns and sizes. Once I found what I wanted, he carried the merchandise while I looked around for other items. I found some tie-died bags that were great gifts for some women back home. I was only interested in purchasing items that were made in Fiji since I wanted to help the economy. Jack's has goods made by others in Fiji, but also has a factory behind the store where they produce their own brand goods. The sales guys will really go through a lot to make a sale. I found a four foot wood carving that I had to figure out how to get back to the US. They quoted me the price to ship it DHL which would have been more than the actual item. I asked them about paying excess baggage on Fiji Airways (they didn't know the answer which was somewhat disappointing given that most Americans have to fly Fiji Airways since no other carriers fly direct from the US Mainland). Since they didn't know, I asked whether there was a Fiji Airways ticket office close by. Instead of just giving me directions, the sales guy walked with me to the office to find out the cost. I ended up purchasing the wooden item which they engraved on the back with the words I wanted to remember the trip. A very pleasant young woman took me to pay for my goods and then fill-out the paper work to get a portion of the VAT back when leaving the country. She individually wrapped each item as it was to be a gift back home. Then another gentlemen carefully packed everything into a cardboard box with a handle so I could transport it to the airport. It all arrived safely in one piece back in the US. I didn't find the staff to be over pushy and they provided great customer service (given that it is Fiji). I would highly recommend as a fun place to pick-up souvenirs - as the prices are quite reasonable and selection is fantastic.

We had a great experience shopping. Yes the staff are pushy but they are in a third world country and need to be paid to feed their families. We entered with a very long list so welcomed all the attention from the staff. This made our shopping adventure run much smoother. We even had a special pick up and drop off thanks to the wonderful Isaac. There was a man playing a guitar and singing at the store entrance who was fantastic. He sand lullabies to our 1year old daughter while we waiting for the counter staff to wrap our goodies. Overall we had a fun couple of hours worth of shopping. We will continue to purchase from jacks in the future.

The second you step in to a Jacks store, you will be shadowed by a salesperson everywhere you go as if you are in there to shoplift. Tourists in tourist shops being accused of shoplifting? You got it! That might be the reason for the high amount of staff working in a single small store Seen up to 15 working. 5 actually working and other 10 just walking around following customers closely. They persistently offer baskets for a few items in your hands. Obviously trying to get you to buy more, more, more, more. When I checked out my items, I was closely observed by who appears to be the manager. I felt very uncomfortable and nearly walked right out. I work for Woolworths in Australia and we never treat our customers like this. Customers deserve their space to shop comfortably and that can lead to more sales rather than driving them out. Their products are overrated and expensive. FJD$80 for a pair of thongs! I had to buy it anyway as the sandals I was wearing broke. They have the common tourist stuff like magnets, hats shirts and beer holders which are reasonably priced. Went to the one in Port Denarau. Not all stores in Fiji are like this. I went to another store in Nadi not Jacks but the one a tour bus will take you to was much better and had more respectful staff (not pushy and only asks if you need help and leaves you alone when you decline any help).

A shopping Mecca when visiting Fiji. Full of Bula clothing and souvenirs most of which are actually made in Thailand. Prices are good and the staff are friendly and not pushy. Worth stepping inside for a browse something may tickle your fancy
