Went on a busy Sunday towards the end of summer. Meatball appetizer was good, but the pizza not so much. Pizzas came out in less than 10 minutes and judging by the temperature of the food one can safely assume that the pizza crust is pre-made and all they do is add on the toppings and sauce depending on which one you choose. Really disapointed since when you grow up at the shore you are used to good fresh pizza. Seems like a lot of hype over a mediocre place.

We on a Tuesday afternoon, the restaurant wasn’t crowded and plenty of room for social distancing. We shared a fresh mozzarella and peppers sandwich and a margarita pizza. The food was good, the servicer was friendly. The downside is food is expensive., $14 for a 12 inch pie is expensive.

Four of us stopped for lunch at Porta the other day. We ate in a very nice outside area under cover. Two of us shared a Bibb lettuce salad, which was ample and very good, and a Margarita Pizza, which was not so good. Crust was not crisp and the sauce lacked much flavor. One had a cold cut sandwich on a hoagie roll and liked it. The other person ordered the salmon sandwich on pita bread. It took at least a half an hour to arrive. The rest of us were close to finishing our meal. When we commented to the server on how long it took, she said “it always takes a very long time.” It was a little late to tell us that. We have eaten at Porta a number of times and liked it very much. Let’s hope this is just a bump in the road.

Worse pizza ever, bad service and rude hostess. After waiting for 40 minutes they gave us the corner street table, when asked for a better table very rude were told that is all I have when I had just seen empty tablets inside. People walking buy and standing close to the table. Pizza was cold and falling apart.
NEVER AGAIN.

The experience was great! We had a big group (14) and it was no issue at all. We also had some picky eaters - our waiter Ryan was so patient and made sure many questions were answered. He was attentive and noticed when drinks were finished and he handled everything in a timely manner such as ordering, bringing additional requests etc. we brought a big cake for dessert and they did not mind at all. They cut it for us and served as if it was their own dessert. And on top of good service the food was so good. Fresh ricotta was to die for. Will be going back for that and the three trees salad.

Sunday evening pizza and drinks with a friend. Great friendly service, waiting staff were enthusiastic and obviously enjoyed the place. Pizza was good and place was surprisingly busy for a Sunday night in early January.

after trying two hotels for lunch yesterday (one who’s cafe has now gone cashless) I passed on both. Was about to give up when I went into Porta . My server bought a pitcher of ice water without being asked (I was half way home 💛 I chose the pasta and salad combo ... both were so good, I was thanking God practically. It could not have been a better lunch, which nowadays is not to be taken lightly. I want to repeat the experience.

Stopped in on a cold wet day based on the recommendation of a local. The drinks were great and the food was good, but the staff was just so-so. Service was slow and the wait staff had no personality. With this being a tourist spot there are plenty of dining options ... with that being said the staff may want to step up their game!

Went to Porta today with 3 PM reservation for 6. We did it all, people--Pizza, eggplant sandwich, soup, pasta, octopus, broccoli rabe, acorn squash, and Bibb salad. Everything was really really good. I am voting the acorn squash as my #1. The whole hollowed out squash was so soft, filled with high quality fresh ricotta, and drizzled with honey. We ate inside and it was noisy, but really fun. Will definitely go back.

We walked around the boardwalk with friends and they suggested that we have lunch at Porta. The weather was warm for October, so we ate outside. We had 2 eggplant parm and 2 “double three tree”salads. The salads were very good and so were the eggplant parmigianas, which came stacked high.
The indoor restaurant and bar area looked like a happening place.

All around great experience. We ate on the patio/gravel. When we arrived, around 6 pm we were told we’d need to wait 20 min for a table, but it was only 10.
We shared meatballs, fresh mozzarella, pizzas. All excellent! This was our second visit, and it won’t be our last.

We just spent a week in Asbury Park and could see this establishment from our balcony. Every night it appeared to be "the happening" place so despite it's lack of curb appeal and charm, we decided to try it for a very casual dinner because it got rave reviews for the food and it was within walking distance. Upon entering, this place has the strangest set up I've ever seen. There are rows and rows of beat up, varnished picnic tables with a wide variety of seats - mismatched chairs, stools and benches. It is very dark inside and the picnic tables are all connected so if you are not an expert in crawling under picnic tables or hurdling over one, it's a bit strange to have to walk all the way around 6-8 picnic tables to get to your seat across from your dining companion. Also, if you have a thing with sitting with other people when they are eating, this might be an issue for you (meaning, they are sitting at your table, not near you). As far as the food, the pizza was really, really good. The pasta dishes (which you can get either single or double) are out of this world, the meatballs and the sausage are genuinely homemade Italian food. So as all the reviews state, the food at this place is well worth the visit. You just need to enter with an open mind.

I’ve been wanting to try Porta for a while. It did not disappoint! My husband enjoyed the pork parm and the meatball sandwich. My daughter loves the margarita pizza and my favorite is the gnocchi in pink sauce. We can’t wait to return!

Day or night, weekday or weekend, this place is awesome. It is the best pizza down the Jersey shore. The bartenders are great, and they make terrific cocktails. I cannot even describe how awesome the pizzas are. They have a Nutella pizza that makes a great “next day breakfast”. During the summer, they have live music on weekends. This place can get very busy and there is also a side nightclub. Love the outdoor seating area, love this place, love the pizza. I recommend the Italian Stallion pizza and a cold Dale’s beer.

Went with my parents. I had a drink that was refreshing. The pizza was great. The right amount of crispy and chewy. Good sauce and cheese. Even my parents liked it. They shared the smoked salmon sandwich, they said that was good. Will go back.
