We are Bird House Kitchen & Drinks, a tribute to the more than 1,900 species of Colombian birds who live in our country. They dazzle us with beauty, and they inspire us with their grace, color, elegance and strength to prepare the best food. Here you will find a place to enjoy and to spend your time with your family and friends. Our menu will delight you with our plates made on potato bases. We are sure it will surprise you. We have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free food. As well we love the Colombian coffee and the best of wine to pair with Antioquian artisanal cheese.

We loved the papa pizza (potato based pizza) and it is gluten free - even better:) The housemade drinks were really delicious, too. We would have come more often for the pizza if we had more time in Medellín... Highly recommended to visit this little, lovely place.

Super good food with heathy options and the ability to choose exactly what you like. The staff treats you like family. Would recommend for a date or with friends. Prices are perfect also.

This place is a must go to small and cozy with plenty of healthy food options for vegetarians and non vegetarians. I go the 4 potatoes they were to die for and a home made juice. Definitely will be returning here.

The place is cosy and charming, the owners and employees very welcoming and friendly, the service fast and excellent, the potato-based food very original, tasty, well seasoned, plentiful, reasonably priced, with several delicious vegetarian and vegan options (a blessing in Colombia !). I nested quite a few times in this lovely Bird House and keep their address like a treasure for future trips to Medellin.

We went here on our last night in Medellín on the strength of the reviews on here, and had a faultless meal in every way. Such a ‘different’ dining concept, whereby you can design your own meal, which is then pulled together by the chefs into something delicious, that also looks super appetising! Great, friendly service, and well priced. A cosy, leafy and friendly environment, with a cool background soundtrack playing. Loads of Veggy and Vegan options here, but we went for meat, of which there are also loads of choices. Something for every taste. Give this place a try and be impressed!

One Word : great.
From the Food and the highly appreciated veg options, the staff, the music ( play me the darkness, dio, motley crue while eating some fresh tasty veg Food and i'm in heaven).
Games, books about birds, I loved this place so much.

Thank you to Andres to for showing us a wonderful evening meal. The food was with a potato base (you can get it in different forms, I went with the bowl) and we got plenty of vegetables added. As people who like their veggies this place was a real treat. We had a great conversation with Andres about a number of things from birds to travel to Life and medium. It was a wonderful experience all around! A great healthy option.

When I arrived in Medellin, BirdHouse was one of the first places I visited. And I am so happy that I found it so early! I ended up going there at least once a week during my 6 month stint in the city, sometimes even 2 or 3 times.
The owner Anna-Maria was so welcoming and friendly, she made me feel right at home immediately. Her daughters work there too and they were equally lovely, whilst the husband Andres was a great friend too. I loved the menu because it had great variety and allowed you to 'pick and choose' how you want your food, this made a great change from the usual Menu Del Dia which you see in Medellin (although their menu del dia is always amazing too).
The front garden area made a fantastic place for me to sit and work and sometimes I would sit there for 4-6 hours a day working, chatting and eating. Overall, would definitely recommend to visit.

Having spent a few days in Medellin sampling different cuisine my family and I were extremely lucky to discover Birdhouse by accident on a nice tranquil street. The food is fantastic, I'm a vegetarian but my dad and brother are both meat eaters, there was a fantastic selection of food for everybody, with what I would describe as a customisable menu.
The staff were extremely welcoming to us, which lead us to return for brunch the following morning. Brunch was flawless, arguably the best meal I had during my entire visit to Colombia.
Finally, I would like to mention the top quality music that was playing. A mixture of Rolling Stones, Beatles, Lou Reed, Bob Dylan and so on. A rare playlist in South America!
I would highly recommend Birdhouse to anybody visiting the city.

Fantastic! Great restaurant serves many vegetarian options in a build your own style and the pizza was an amazing Colombian version. Andrés is awesome and very knowledgeable about Colombian birds. He even has a birding and adventure guide buisness ( AAA adventures @adventureworld.com)

We stumbled across this little gem while exploring the neighbourhood of our airbnb. The menu is great, everything is super fresh and healthy and the two women running the place were absolutely lovely. We also loved the interior!

After my last visit to medellin i found a hidden jewel, birdhouse kitchen & drinks, the place its great, you can find healthy excelent food, like the glutten free papizza. Its a place you should visit

I chose a papizza, a potato based pizza, at the beginning I couldn't imagine a pizza that had potatoes instead of the normal pizza dough, but I gave it a go and it was really good. They have many different things potato based foods and since my experience was really good I'll give them a try on a next visit.

I tried this new place last week....the potato bread hit the spot! they had sweet tomato chilli and also told me about their upcoming menu which will have potato base pizza....sounds great for someone who's not able to process gluten like me.
