Ramen gem of Medellin

I did a google map search in medellin for ramen. Lots of contenders, decided to give this a try. The menu selection for sushi and ramen is just right. We ordered the Red Miso ramen. I added bamboo, and egg and it was exceptional. Love the ability to customize my order. The dish was hearty, filling, and plenty for each serving. I highly recommend this place. I would probably recommend they serve liquor, but they do have a great selection of beer, Sami, non alcoholic beverages. Please give them a try.

Worst ramen experience of my life

The worst ramen experience I have ever had in my life. We ordered the crispy pork ramen. It came with ketchup on top of every single slice. The broth was tasteless . The noodles were instant. It’s horrible . Don’t come here.

Ok, but just ok

TL;DR is that this place is fine, but not impressive. I won't be returning. Based on other reviews, I went with the ramen instead of the sushi. Incidentally, I found the sushi itself surprisingly expensive. A picture of two pieces of salmon nigiri sushi was 11,300 COP. My ramen was the most popular, Red Miso with two gyoza and two pieces of pork. I will say that the pork itself was a generous portion, the noodle quantity a little light. They definitely don't fill up the bowl like in the pictures. The gyoza were very meaty with a hint of ginger, but nothing else, like scallions. The pork was fine, not cooked tough or dry. The noodles, and particularly the broth, were more of a letdown. The broth had a very uninspired flavor, but to be fair, this is from a ramen fanatic. I didn't bother to drink the broth, as I normally do. The price was fair at 23.900 COP. No tip is requested as it's counter service, so bonus if you're on a budget. The service itself was just OK as well. No bad attitudes, but not the sunny warmth you encounter so commonly in this wonderful city. Delivery was slow. Took 20 minutes (timed) for my food to arrive, this with 10 people in the restaurant. You can decide for yourself if that's acceptable. I was hoping for a gem, but didn't find it. Not terrible by any means, but at that price range, there are a lot of other places to go to.

Great Casual Food Experience

This place is low key and serves real good food for the price. I will return for sure. Great "saporro" ramen and the portion is big. I tracked the place down by seeing on Tripadvisor and it did not let me down at all. Delicious,

Great food, Great price!

This is a very tiny restaurant, cool and cozy. They have a narrow menu, with sushi and ramen soup. The prices are very good. You go to the front desk, order and pay. They bring you your food to the table. They have some special menu for a very good price, with ramen, sushi, tea and banana tempura. You will eat great and you will pay a very fair price. Sushi is very simple, not fancy or exravagant. But it is good.

Best Ramen in Town

I have came twice here, and both times was a spiritual and tasty trip to Asia, the place is not fancy, it is what it is, a casual sushi place, but the variety of the ramen (the menu offers 6 variations) is enought to made you feel in love with their taste. The service is fast, the only details is that you need to go to the counter to order and pay, then they deliver to the table. The Ramen is always perfectly hot, the ingredients feel fresh and the place breaths calm and happy energy. If you want a nice Ramen, come here and you wont regret it.

Nice place, great food, good prices

Since I love Ramen, I am always looking for it, anywhere. I have found some good places in Medellin, some of them even with a japanese chef. I found SushiGama in instagram, it is a small but a very cute and cozy place. No japanese chef around, tho. But the people that work there are very into the restaurant and the service. The ramen is great. Very tasty!! I ordered a special menu, with ramen, sushi, dessert and tea, for a very good price (60.000 pesos, for two people, something like 20$) The sushi was very good, even if the price was low. Off course if you want to have a great sushi, you have to pay more. So, this sushi is very convenient for the price. For me it was tasty and good. That menu was huge. We ate and we were full!! Good food, good price! The close at 9pm.

Good ramen, bad sushi!

Had the menu deal, ramen soup, tea & sushi of the day. The soup was quite tasty and i would have it again, the sushi on the other hand was the worst i’ve ever had. The rice didn’t have the proper consistency, it was too mushy, and the amount of ingredients inside was very little. About half of how much should go in the centre was just more mushy rice (see the photo). I ended up taking a lot of the rice out to eat it and even then i didn’t finish my food. Also had the salmon nigiri, same problem with the rice but a much more generous amount of salmon there. If you want ramen you should go. Prices are on the low side so there is a compromise there, but if you want good sushi and don’t mind spending a bit more, go somewhere else.
