Had “Bo’ao Seafood Restaurant” on the list of things to do. Driver had no idea, and we accidentally found the round that runs behind the beach. Spotted this place and couldn’t believe how big it was. Plenty of outdoor seating, but it was very hot so we opted for inside.
Plenty of seafood options. I went for the mixed seafood Hainan style. Tasty. Lots of whole fish and fresh stuff where a price would be quoted on the spot. Decor is kitschy and fun. Plenty of staff. Does the job.

A very nice place to relex... Very nice weather and easy to take beautiful picture.

Food was okay but very overpriced. When the seafood platter arrived it was ice cold. Had clearly been sitting out for a while before they brought it. Service was really bad. Come for the view but don't come for anything else.

If you're on Bo'Ao beach, you can't miss Hai De Gu Shi, it's massive and occupies a large chunk of the sea front. It's been beautifully themed, with old boats that you can sit in, and it's all built out of recovered wood.
Finding a seat was a bit chaotic due to the size of the seating area, the sheer number of busy waiting staff and the hundreds of diners in here. But we found a great place at the front, overlooking the beach.
The food was good, if not amazing, with Thai style and Hainan style seafood. It's expensive compared to most restaurants in China - we paid more than 500 yuan for 4 dishes and 2 drinks for 2 people. However you have to consider it as an attraction in itself, and it's a charming restaurant for any occasion.
