Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We didn't stay at the hotel but were attracted by the elegance of the beautiful house and garden. We had a lovely dinner on the balcony with the feel of being back in the 1930's. Service is very nice and efficient and the inner was...excellent.More

What an amazing hotel! Tastefully designed where beauty hits you in the eye at all angles. With its many antique paintings and artifacts, many personal family additions, make it a unique museum experience without being in-your-face. Our dinner was superb - with excellent wines on...offer too.More

You feel like royalty in the old times. Very nice rooms and surroundings with lot of statues and antiques. Night market at 20 min walk. Two small but sufficient pools and a la carte breakfast. Perfect hideaway!

My husband and I ate dinner in the restaurant one evening. Typical hotel prices, but excellent food and service. We would have no hesitation eating here again.

Fantastic range on the menu. Fantastic staff - especially Mem, Lern, Sengduean and Keomoukda. Very friendly people and always the best meals (particularly Breakfast). Even if you try out some of the other restaraunts in town, make sure to reserve a meal here.

I stayed at this delightful colonial hotel, but I felt the breakfast was quite minimal for a 5 star hotel. I had an evening meal too which was pork with a mustard sauce. The sauce was quite creamy but I couldn't taste any mustard. The...pork had good texture but the flavor was bland. I had expected something better from the posts I've seen here.More

We stayed at Satri House and normally tend not to eat at the hotel. This was an exception. Wonderful breakfasts etc. The food and service was so good we decided on having our last dinner here instead of a highly "ranked" restaurant. We weren't disappointed....See my hotel review but this place is charming!More

We were wondering where to eat near Le Sen hotel and thanks to the marvels of the internet we can google good places to eat near here and up comes Satri House. So thankful it did. Satri House isomewhere we would have never found on...our own. The food was so wonderful, tasty and amazing. The setting is special too. It felt like a very special night out. Well worth the $$$. We were not dressed nicely. I was in tee shirt and cheap pants and my husband even worse yet we were treated like royalty. (I am a school principal and my husband a data analyist) I am not saying this to make us look good but saying how this hotel does not judge from outwards appearance the attention to detail was amazing. This was a wonderful accidental find.More

This restaurant is a real gem hidden inside the beautiful Satri House hotel. The grounds are wonderful and it seems the restaurant is used just by hotel guests but is open to the public. There is a back entrance opposite the popular Manda de Laos...restaurant or enter through the beautiful main path. While there were not many tables used we enjoyed a wonderful traditional meal of Laap and a chicken curry. The desert of ginger coconut (coconut custard served with caramalised ginger) was just fantastic. Limited but good wine list. One of the best meals we have had in Laos. The service was excellent and they clearly enjoy practicing their English. The menu also has French dishes which we did not try. I highly recommend this restaurant and do not be put off by how quiet it is or being in the hotel. Wine aside the meal was under USD$30 similar to others in town. The setting within the stunning grounds and french colonial buildings make this a very special setting for a wonderful meal.More
