Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I will start by saying we did not eat at this restaurant. But I thought it was necessary to feedback on the attitude of staff when trying to book. We visited the restaurant to find it was fully booked. No problem. But when we tried...to book for future nights we were told it was always fully booked!! Really?? These type of restaurants have a short memory. Were they fully booked throughout COVID? Just treat the public with humility. You may be busy now but that may not always be the case.More

Good location on quieter street close to the beautiful river, buzzy, funky atmosphere, service efficient. Chairs not very comfy and a bit squashed for space, food very good but pizza dough is too sweet. The pizzas in La Rosa are better.

Certainly now during high season the restaurant runs at a frenetic speed due to its understandable popularity. Everyone was accommodating and welcoming. The pizza was good in my opinion not outstanding but definitely worth a visit. All the staff are working so hard so it...will be best to arrive with ample time for dinner. While the food is being cooked a cold on tap beer could keep you happy. The only suggestion I have is that the nachos could do with more sauce as it was quite dry.More

Dear hotelmonster, Thank you for your constructive review. Indeed we are experiencing a high volume of customer right now. I will share your comment with the team regarding the nachos and see if we can improve that. Have a great day, The management team.

We love the place. Nice music, nice food. The restaurant is full, so you have to wait some time for the pizza. That give you some time for the drink.

Their pasta was so great and cooked al dente. The pizza portion is so big. Two of us ordered a pizza and a portion of pasta and we couldn't finish the pizza. When we took away our pizza, it became soggy. So, better to finish...the pizza at the restaurant.More

The service, or the attitude of the maitre d'/from the of House, let this place down. There was no way to queue, or to even know there was a queue and his manner was rude and condecending to patrons. A bit of process and thinking...about the customer would turn the place around. He was also desperate to leave, so refused orders so he could rush off. Service seemed better if you were french. Food was fine, probably the better pizza is LP though and salad was nice.More

Very friendly staff, we shared a salad, pizza and stuffed bread sticks and it was all good. Thin and crispy pizza. Salad could have done with a dressing. Definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for pizza

A great vibe, good music, good prices, good choice of drinks, unfortunately the pizza let's it down. My wife's was cold and had to be sent back to be reheated. I was told we would have crispy base pizzas but basically all we got was...a soggy mess. I hate having to write a review like this because basically the place has everything going it for and I would love to see it thrive. Sorry to the owners for writing this review as they are lovely people. Sort out the pizza and it'll be 5 stars.More

What started off as a lovely experience turned into pure frustration. Our pizza sat on the service table for 10 minutes before we received it. It was cold by then and we had to ask for it to be put back in the oven to...be heated up. The pizza itself was good, although the tomato sauce base was very sweet. We then waited for 10 minutes to try and get the waitresses attention for the bill. It came after a couple of minutes and we wanted to pay straight away with our credit card which she saw, but the waitress walked away to attend a new group that had come in. We then waited 20 minutes trying to pay the bill, but we were told we had to wait for the one waitress. As we approached her to pay again, she walked away to take the order from a table of 10 to 12 people. Another 5 minutes later someone else came to help us pay, but we were charged in USD for the credit card when we specifically requested to pay in KIP. In the staffs defence, they were very understaffed which caused frustration, not only by us, but many other tables waiting to get menus, order food etc. When we there, 2 groups of people walked away due to no service.More

This place was busy when I visited and remained so throughout the time I was there. Several folk were either turned away or had to wait at the counter for a table to become free. The pizza I had (“French Kiss”) was very good -...really tasty thin crust dough and plenty of toppings. The sundae dessert was smaller than I was expecting but enjoyable nonetheless. Popolo is more expensive than many eateries in Luang Prabang but is still affordable.More

This place was within 30m of our hotel, The Belle Rive. Very relaxed atmosphere with an interesting snack menu and cold beer, we called in a number of times. Not quite as nice as its sister restaurant, Tangor, but cool nevertheless. Worth a visit.

Probably the best pizza I've had in South East Asia and I've had a few. The place got very busy even in the low season so be prepared for a short wait. Well worth it.

For a moment I thought I was in Italy... The pizzas were perfectly cooked over a wood fire, and the dough was just right! We shared the Melting heart and the Popolare, and we weren't disappointed with the ingredients, especially the incredible burrata! Don't hesitate...to try their mocktails, which are a great alternative to basic sodas. The team is smiling and responsive, and the manager very friendly and attentive.More

Great for casual dining and a few drinks. All meals we ordered over a few visits were lovely. All the staff were lovely and the kitchen is there to be seen in the dining room. Would really recommend

Another lovely relaxing little place in the historical old town. Great place for a drink and a pizza. The nachos were amazing and very tasty also. Good selection of cocktails and wine on offer. Staff were very good. We thoroughly enjoyed Popolo and recommend it.
