Our family had dinner here with some friends recently. The restaurant manager suggested various dishes (soup, rice, and different types of fish). Since three of us are not really into seafood we asked to bring way less. They ended up serving seafood soup, seafood rice, 2 trays of shrimp, 2 trays of crabs, and a tray with a giant king fish. It was honestly enough to feed 15 people, and it was just the 6 of us. Besides paying over 6,000 Egyptian pounds, there was a massive amount of food that we could not finish. The menu was in Arabic and had no prices that we could read. We were initially excited to eat here but left with a bitter taste.

In Alexandria for one night and looking for a casual, reasonable dinner place. Butterfly came up on my search and we went to try it out. The restaurant was very welcoming. You choose you fish on arrival, they weigh it and tell you the cost and then you go upstairs to a table while they cook your fish.
While you wait, they bring you a range of mezzo dishes. Our fish was lovely and the staff are very nice and attentive.
Very reasonably priced for lovely fresh fish. Would recommend,

We ordered shrimps, calamari and sea bass - all grilled. The flavor was delicious. Very fresh and tasty. The accompaniments were excellent with about 7 different little tastings. We were very happy with the meal.

Food is very good. Great grilled shrimp & octopus. Good service. We are on the Mediterranean Sea, so seafood MUST be excellent!!
For English-speaking eaters—very little English spoken. But they try!!
At front when picking out fish, get them to give you price up front—can’t hurt to make sure you are not understanding bill later on.
Nice restaurant.
No wine or other spirits.
