Wonderful, perfect evening. Atmospheric and delicious food. Impeccable service. Would highly recommend. The restaurant is on a par with the best we’ve ever eaten in.

We were a group on nine (friends) that went to Makarun. It is little bit ”difficult” to find, as it is in the inner court - but when there, the restaurant looks nice. As a large group, we had reserved in advance (inside). We had...multiple different starters - from which the calamari salad and beef carpacchio were superd (beef carpacchio one of the best ever). Fish carpacchio was nice as well as the Dalmatian plate (quite small). From the main courses calamari and beef filet were superb. The lamb racks were also delicious. Risotto and grilled fish fillet could have had some more taste on shem. On the side we had mashed potatos with truffel (superb) and grilled spinach/potatos (really good). As the portions are good sized we had only few deserts - cheese cake was really delicious. The wine selection is good and we were recommended wines, which turned out to be best ones (the Croation red was allmost in par with french/Italian wines I like). The service was super nice, attantable and took care of us really well. The restaurant is on the pricier side, but definately worth the price.More

After a terrible welcome at Zoi restaurant, we were looking for an alternative plan. We found the Makarun by walking in the downtown and we never regret this beautiful surprise. The staff was absolutely amazing and very attentioned to us, despite a complex order we...had (we were 6). I took the sea fillet which was perfectly cooked and will remain a highlight of my Croatia trip. Prices are fair. DEfinitely an excellent restaurant that i strongly recommendMore

Our waiter, Jorlo, was phenomenal. One of the nicest and most genuine waiters I have ever been served by. Perfect service and professionalism. The food here was pretty good too, with generous servings of bread with drinks, and very authentic food. The location of the...restaurant is amazing, with an awesome courtyard. Overall great experience, highly recommend!More

Delicious food! We were brought here on the Gastro and History tour so you know it’s going to be good. We had a shrimp makaruni and a beef one - both were delicious!

A waiter at a nearby bar recommended this place and we were not disappointed. Food was absolutely lovely and quite inventive. The beefsteak alla Makarun was delicious and paired beautifully with a red wine that our waitress recommended. Do try the beef carpaccio as well!

Everything from the reservation until we left was perfect! All the staff were very friendly, proffessional, helpful, especially the girl who was serving us whole evening was extra professional, nice and made our night out better than we could imagine. We have stayed late but...they did not kick us out, even taught there was nobody any more there for a long time. And of course food was really excellent! They cut prosciutto by hand fresh, pasta is always great and fish was perfect.More

Our hotel recommended this place which is very central. The food was excellent and the location is a fairly functional courtyard right in the centre. Many of the clientele appeared to be Croatian which is always a good sign. Reasonably priced.

My first time in the well-known restaurant was nice. My friend took me there and I was impressed with the ambiance. The service was impeccable, flawless, professional and friendly, all hygienic epidemiological measures respected (bear in mind not everywhere or better yet mostly not elsewhere...in Split). We asked our waiter for some suggestions and both opted for fish - grilled sea bass with mangel and sea bass “u škartocu” (baked in an oven in paper) with vegetables - really delicious, pricey but delicious. We also ordered two glasses of rose wine, nicely chilled. We liked it a lot, however we didn’t like the amount of it nor the price. For the love of God, I cannot understand why the restaurants in Croatia serve 1,25 or 1 decilitre of wine and why it has to be so expensive - like I am buying a piece of gold. Nowhere I had been so far, and I had my share of traveling, I had been served that amount when ordering a glass - only in my own country! For the equivalent of 10 €, I expect more in terms of quantity and quality. That being said, I would gladly revisit this place - and opted to drink something else.More

Accept what life offers you and try to drink from every cup. All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle
