First of all, our server, lauren, was amazing. I didn’t know which beer to order and she offered to bring me various samples which I’m more than happily imbibed. It was very considerate of her to make such an offer and to help make our evening special.Secondly, the food was great. My kid ordered the Gaelic chicken, Which she loved. The sauce was delicious and the brussels sprouts cooked perfectly. I ordered the quinoa buckwheat burger. Lauren warned me that it would be soft and she was right. Yeah, it was healthy and I ordered a side beat salad with it, which was out of this world. The bread that came with the sandwich was boring but overall the experience and food was lovely. We will definitely return and are so happy that a restaurant is within easy driving distance, offering fresh and healthy choices. Yes, the food may be pricier than local area restaurants but to have saved five or $10 and had another yet horrible food experience isn’t savings or smart in my humble opinion. You get what you pay for!

We've been isolating and are just stepping out to only the safest outdoor dining venues. We were delighted to find all staff fully masked (not under noses or chins), everything very clean, and the food, delicious - especially the fish and chips made from fresh fish and battered on site. The tables are nicely spaced and shade, even on a very hot day, provided by umbrellas and trees. Keep up the safe dining!

Charming location with both indoor and outdoor seating, though the latter is only reservable if the group is 6 or more. We had a 6:30pm reservation and unfortunately many things on the menu were not available. All the main course were quite good, though not outstanding. Beer on tap was perhaps the highlight. We had one problem in which the each couple ordered the scallops - one dish came with 5 and the other 7. We inquired with the server and instead of fixing the situation with the chef, they put us in the position of asking us what they would like them to do about it, as if it was an imposition to fix the situation (?). Made for a very awkward situation between the couples and poor way for a server to handle (or in this case not handle) the mishap. We cut our losses when half the desserts on the menu were not available and went down the road to Ericksons for ice cream.

Just ate here. Both dinners were served like soup with way too much sauce. My dinner had nearly raw butternut squash. The salmon dinner my husband had was an overload of too many things on the plate and again soup like sauce. For $100. No not again! If you are serving eclectic dishes you have to do it right!👎🏼

Hi Leanne, Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We're sad to hear that you felt the food was undercooked and oversauced, and not up to your expectations. As always, we would like to investigate this further and speak to your server. Could you please identify where you were seated? We'd appreciate another chance at your business and hope that in the future you'll mention any issues to us during your visit, as we always aim to address issues immediately to ensure our patrons have an exceptional meal and experience paired with great service. That’s why we are in the hospitality business!

My wife and I were in town for a funeral and unfamiliar with the area. We happened upon this restaurant while searching online as it was close to the hotel. My wife was intrigued by the scratch menu options and I was sold on the craft beer so we decided to give it try... and we were not disappointed. It was a Friday night around 6:30pm and the place was packed. For a restaurant this is always a good sign and we were willing have a drink at the bar while waiting for a table. The hostess, Lisa, was the bearer of bad news and mentioned to our dismay that they were absolutely booked. Half of the restaurant was booked for a party and the remaining seats were spoken for. My wife, who can be quite persuasive, plead our case. As fate would have it, a few tables opened and Lisa had us seated with Kyle as our server. I tried a number of the beers, all were great. My wife, who is not a beer drinker, actually enjoyed the Belgian Blonde. We are appetizer snobs and after a few suggestions from Kyle we ordered the beer steamed mussels, brie and mushroom flatbread, beet salad, and sauteed Brussels sprouts; all of this topped off with the tiramisu at the end. Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff for producing such a unique and delicious menu. Kyle was very attentive but not overbearing. Lisa stopped at our table on a few times and it was like we were talking to an old friend. At the end of our meal, she even treated us to homemade cookies that she baked for the staff. Before calling it a night, I grabbed two make-your-own six packs of beer to bring home and share with family. Although we were in town for a somber occasion, this was an absolutely memorable experience.

We attended a small (about 25 people) outdoor wedding at Rapscallion yesterday and was very impressed with the facility, the staff, and the food. There is a cute little space outside that worked well for the ceremony, adjacent to a cozy, tented dining area. The staff was wonderful and helpful in so many different ways. And everyone raved about the quality of the meals served. It was a wonderful evening, we will definitely be returning to Rapscallion.

I eat a diet similar to Keto, which can cause problems when I go out to eat. The menu here though was very friendly and they were helpful in allowing substitutions when needed. The food was served quickly and was very tasty. The wings are excellent and the beer was great.

I enjoyed my lunch with 3 companions at the small and cute red shingled Rapscallion on Route 2A. The service was friendly and the food good if pricey. I had a flavorful risotto without the mushrooms. Kudos to having my request obliged. I ordered a unique gin and tonic with lavender. Liked it. My companions had sandwiches which were accompanied by salads and they seemed to like them. One was a turkey panini and the others salmon. One had wine and the other two beers. It seems this is a farm to tale restaurant and a brewery to tap one which is an added plus. I would like to try dinner there. In warmer weather there is outdoor sitting.

We came here for the first time after another restaurant lost our reservation. We were very impressed with the friendly hostess and wait staff, all wearing masks. We had a lovely table outside with distance from other diners. This place has its outdoor act together. The food and service were excellent. Shout out to Anna, one of the best waitresses we have ever had! Our party dined on burgers, the crab cake sandwich and scallop entree and all were delicious. Don't miss the brownie sundae if you have room!. Hope to return here for outdoor dining again. The bathrooms were also very clean.

Was really hoping to like this place, however it fell short of expectations. Although the menu is creative and looks great, the execution was lacking. My biggest issue was the poutine with short rib. The short rib was sliced rather than slow cooked and didn’t have much flavor. I also tried the grilled cheese and burger, both of which were average. The mussels in red sauce however, were good. Probably best option in the area.

Nice setting, awful musack, fair to awful food. Rapscallion burger tasted like hotdogs. They must have fried or cooked chorizo along with my rapscallion burger and unfortunately I intensely dislike chorizo or anything tasting like hotdogs. Bacon was floppy greasy not crisp. French fries tasted like hotdogs/chorizo. Not good.

Our first dinner out since covid and well worth it! Great food! Great atmosphere in their outdoor dining area! Great service despite somewhat self serve because of covid precautions- temporary for now. Felt very safe. They allow time between patrons to disinfect seating. Highly recommend for summer evening.

My husband and I were meeting a friend for lunch yesterday and when we got to the restaurant, it was closed due to a computer issue. So I googled nearby places and we ended up at Rapscallion. I have to say I was so thrilled the other restaurant was closed. This was a little gem of a restaurant! We were seated immediately and the waitress brought us a pitcher of water for the table. The three of us had a lot to discuss and probably stayed a bit too long at the table, but the staff was so accommodating! We ordered lunch and I had the Salmon Banh Mi and it was absolutely out of this world, it came with fries that were also delicious. All in all, amazing food, incredible service- I will be back!

We stopped by after a bike ride in the area. We chose to sit outside which was comfortable. For drinks my wife ordered the blueberry ale and I ordered a flight of 4 beers. For lunch my wife went with the chicken caprese sandwich and I opted for the veggie burger. Both sandwiches were nicely prepared and come with a decent choice of sides. As far as the beer, I would not rate any as outstanding but they were all decent.

I’ve never written a restaurant review before but am grateful for those who had reviewed this venue because I thought I’d take the half hour drive to give it a try. Definitely worth the trip and worth future trips! Great friendly family feel here, great food options (we are foodies and were impressed) and reminded me of being at a family home for the holidays. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Kudos
